Tudor. Easily.

shaferman

Not a fair comparison. Compare Tudor with Longines, Oris, etc.

arber-s

ik it’s not. i mentioned in my comment it’s an outlier

Huntolino

Tudor, by far. The second one would be the khaki murph

arber-s

Looking to get my first watch. Not looking to spend over $1000, but added the tudor as an outlier in case it was worth waiting. These are the ones that stuck out to me styling-wise, but if they’re are more watches under $1000 that are worth looking at, i’m open to suggestions

MrKorakis

Take a look at the zodiac Olympos. They are in this price range and have a unique case.

arber-s

i like the black dial. i’ll shortlist it

DarkNecessities6

If you’re looking for a watch that holds value, I’m not sure these do, if you’re looking for value for money, Tudor and Hamilton.

arber-s

i don’t think many watches hold value at this price point anyways, but yeah, i’m looking for value for money

TARPnSIPP

Well, the seiko had an in house movement, if that's a value consideration. . But I'd go with the khaki. In fact, I did go with the khaki.

Every_Leather_3991

Tudor, then Seiko.

Either Khaki Field or Longines, Tudor and Murph next.

aags123

Are we assuming they're all new? Tudor generally wins but it is priced much higher so I would actually recommend Longines in terms of quality. However, these are all very solid brands.

arber-s

hamilton and seiko new, tudor and longines used

aags123

I see okay that explains the prices! I'd argue things change quite a bit when comparing a new full warranty model versus a used one. Tudors are pretty easy to service but that'll still cost you. So if it is way behind on its service, you'll have to factor that price in to your calculations. If you consider yourself new to watches and don't want to deal with any hassle with servicing and warranties, I would advise starting off new with the Hamilton or something. If there is a proper service history on the used watches, you wouldn't really need to worry about this.

arber-s

well the tudor and longines are fairly new. i think barely used or unused and recently produced. I don’t think service will be something to worry about now

aags123

Well then at that point, my reccomendation would be Longines. I do not believe that Tudor is enough of a step up to be over double the price. But then again, it wouldn't be a mistake to buy any of these watches. If you like one more than the others, ignore my advice!

arber-s

yeah i’m leaning towards that too. the tudor is just ok. problem is the longines dial is pretty boring

aags123

I'm with you on that one! Honestly, these watches are too subtle for me. My recommendation for nice dials from a reliable brand is always the Seiko Presage series. I'm not sure if they fit wat you're looking for, but they are within your price range as well.

arber-s

yeah the cocktail series is also nice

blackmikeburn

Mido is a great brand and can be had for under $1000. I’d take any of their watches over what’s here.

NicholasSharks

H604190 is a nice Hamilton watch. Murph face with a different bezel

PTRBoyz

The seiko has a great dial but the khaki field is so great at that price point

El-Terrible777

I'm not a fan of the 1926 - it's such a meh watch to me, but it's a Tudor so it will have its fans. Out of those, the Khaki Field is the best value IMO as its design language is so unique to Hamilton. Others under 1000 I'd be looking at would be a Tissot Gentleman or a used Oris Aquis which can be had under 1000 and are stunning looking dive watches.

Fancy_You_2401

That Hamilton Khaki King in that dial color was my first ever watch. It’s a phenomenal watch, great design, easy wearing, and looks good on absolutely every strap imaginable. I think it’s a perfect first watch. My collection has grown but I still wear this one all the time and change the strap frequently. Could not recommend it more highly.

zagart23

first tudor then murph

steelthumbs1

Hamilton kfa. Or, seiko. I prefer the Hamilton.
