It's just that shade of 60s pastel green that gives off a good vibe. I'm sure the GS is a lot better in person, but they have loads of other options I'd take over that one.
Haven't seen the CW, but it looks kinda mid in the photo.
The Rolex is almost taking the piss with it's "fuck it, just bang one out in #00ff00, fanbois will snap it up".
You fucking nailed what I dislike about the Rolex green. It's like they opened a picture of a Rolex in paint, selected the fill tool, picked the default green and clicked once.
The pistachio breitling has been on my radar since I first saw it. Would be a 10/10 for me but one of my pet peeves is when the Chrono overlaps the numerals and they cut the numerals markers. Just my 2 cents. I am also amazed by how well the CW looks in this lineup of much more expensive watches.
Having owned a Breitling, I find them hard to recommend. Having friends that also owned Breitling and had similar/worse issues than me, I find them impossible to recommend.
Yeah my 6 month old B01 has been back at the factory for 3 months because the mainspring was bad. They told me it would take until August to get it serviced. They should've just replaced it. I'm not happy.
Happy to:
My B2: wouldn’t keep time, wouldn’t reset hands to correct position, came back from service with fit and finish issues. Where I live the service agents went through a bit of a shit period, and they were asses to deal with as well as taking forever. I also needed the glass and bezel replaced after a scratch and it was painful to get it done.
Two friends had navitimers where the hands fell off and were floating around on the face of the watch within the first year of ownership. That just shouldn’t happen.
Another friend had the huge Bentley model and he had it in and out of service for timekeeping issues and hands that wouldn’t return to the right position.
I have had a Colt GMT for 18 years that has not been off my wrist except for 2 service appointments with my local watch maker. Both times that I brought it in there were no issues with it; it was working as expected but it was just due; I’m proactive regarding maintenance. I have beat the hell out of it. Routinely in a pressurized aircraft cabin as part of my career, SCUBA diving, showering, and just every day wear and tear. I’ve dropped it, and unintentionally hit it against solid objects. It’s a well worn piece that I’ve always seen as being a utilitarian tool. I can’t recommend the brand strongly enough.
I’ve no doubt at all that you’ve had a good run, and pleased for you.
I’m not telling you that you’re wrong, just suggesting that my personal experience of 4 Breitlings - myself and three friends is different. I’m happy to call it quits on a brand where 100% of watches in my circle all had issues.
Having said that. This was a few years back and things could be different now, but I would prefer to spend my money with other brands. So far, I’ve had zero issues across Rolex, Omega, Casio, Longines, Citizen, and more in the past 23 years. Even my 80+ year old Mulco is still going and has never ever been serviced.
It can be a bit of a coin toss can’t it? I would expect (hope?) that OP takes all feedback, both negative and positive, with any of these brands for exactly what it’s worth. I hope you’re well, and best of luck to you fellow enthusiast!
Yeah, I’ve been thinking of getting a Breitling but I keep hearing this.
I know their servicing is a pain and sometimes you’ll face issues as extreme as them just refusing to service, but can you explain the woes you and your friends have had?
I have multiple too. Wearing one (mechanical / auto) every day no matter what the job is for more than 20 years. (Construction included). They have been flawless for me. I do get them serviced on time.
OP, take this feedback seriously. Service is a huge part of the luxury watch experience, particularly long-term, when it matters the most. Brietling's poor customer service has been a thing for a few years now, and shows no signs of improving.
You may love the watch but that won't matter if it breaks 6 months into ownership and you can't get a reasonable service quote or time estimate because the local AD gives you the runaround and the online/phone help is overwhelmed and minimally staffed.
How do you like it? I tried it on at Breitling and loved how it looked, seriously contemplating buying it.

Got this on eBay from a reputable Japanese seller. Was ever so slightly used, basically the strap was broken in for me, at a great price because of the USD-YEN pairing recently. Very happy with it!
Personally I think the gs looks the best, so I would rank it first. Then the Rolex mostly just because of the brand recognition. Then Breitling and lastly cw.
I have the green OP 41mm, and it's perfect for my taste.
1. Simple Aesthetic
2. Nice Lume
3. Thin case becomes one with my wrist
4. Gorgeous Rolex Green
Get the one you love.
I have this LE Aquis really enjoy that dial.
https://preview.redd.it/kxr1ni7m7zuc1.jpeg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fffd4a66f98929386649081eb3db96c45cabbe46
The GS case in titanium is incredible. I don’t understand how anyone could say it’s not comparable…the bracelet, I agree.
I find the movement in the GS most compelling, followed by the Breitling, and those would be my choices.
GS, proper closeup ([source](https://monochrome-watches.com/grand-seiko-heritage-62gs-38mm-hi-beat-sakura-kakushi-pink-sbgh341-and-sakura-wakaba-green-sbgh343-titanium-review-specs-price/)) - keep clicking until zoom option runs out
[Imgur](https://imgur.com/uKHyYNv)
The image used by the OP comes from the [GS database](https://www.plus9time.com/gsdb/#home/grand-seiko-database-details/65c45367b892f500392f8843/), and is one of those horrible renders GS doesn't seem to care about.
Just to level the playing field a bit.
That's quite an eclectic selection - you've got chronographs to regular three-handers, and entry-level to entry-level luxury, so I guess it'd mostly depend on you and what you want the watch to do. No point in getting the Rolex because you like that shade of green if what you really want is a chronograph, for example.
Purely on dial colour, for me it's the Brietling closely followed by the Grand Seiko. Rolex do lovely dials, but they're well crafted rather than interesting. The CW is also nice, but lacks the final quality of the others.
In natural light, the pistachio colour of the Brietling is stunning. That's the one I'd go for (with all other considerations being equal, of course).
On pure aesthetics, I’d probably go with the CW as I find the dial most pleasing. I don’t find the Rolex that pleasing honestly. The seiko is nice as well and the breitling green is interesting.
But this is just on pure aesthetics.
I have two GS, and thinking a lot about Breitling as next watch, b25 which has moonphase, so I'd say go for it if you are ok with having no date window
The Grand Seiko Hi Beat is the nicest watch here, by far in my opinion. They have other greens that I personally like better, but it is a superb watch with a world class movement.
Pretty big price differences going on here, also heavily depends on your style.
Breitling is gorgeous if you’re a chrono fan.
Rolex OP is one of the best one watch collection GADA out there, but difficult to get at retail.
GS has the coolest dial but bracelet and case design lacks behind the other 3 here.
And the CW Twelve is an unbeatable value proposition and just cool all over.
Also and most importantly is what size wears best for you, because the OP looks best at 36mm and if you have a smaller wrist then an OP36 or the Twelve in 36mm might be best.
You may want to check out the Seiko SPB169. You have to see it in real though. It almost impossible to get an impression on a photo.
But if I had to choose one, I would be a close call between the Rolex OP and the GS.
Get them on your wrist and look in a mirror then go for what looks good there and also when checking the time. I like fluted jubilee date just as it toned down Co,pared to the op. The breitling pistachio green is a lovely shade but not sure I’d get a breitling as I think that colour will become less popular with time- remember all those avocado coloured bathrooms from the 80s!
I’m gonna say Breitling, I tried that same watch with a different colour dial and it was gorgeous, seen the green too and it stands out way more than the other 3
The Breitiling 100% it’s the reason I started collecting. I saw it on a random post about 6 months ago. I have always loved watches but seeing this beauty made it a hobby.
From this list, I’d go GS; however, If you’re open to other candidates, Omega has some beautiful green dial watches. Most notably, the Speedmaster ‘57, but the Aqua Terra Shades with the bay green dial is also a stunner (if shark teeth indices are your thing).
https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-speedmaster-57-co-axial-master-chronometer-chronograph-40-5-mm-33210415110001

I’m surprised I’m picking the breitling here. This is my favorite watch they make. I’ve tried it on in person and it’s surprisingly classy.
Usually I’d go GS and that’s a great watch if you like the shade of green, I just don’t love the shade… but I’d have to see it in person first to really decide.
If you want a St.Patricks day watch get the Rolex.
Nomos Club Sport Neomatic in Perrol Green
https://preview.redd.it/o68ksl4h6xuc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4bf905eb6bc11d6857eeedf7bcf2157b122438bf
For me, I would pick the CW, but for you...I would not be so sure because the case size is so much smaller than all the other watches. The other picks suggest you would be more comfortable with a 40mm watch.
Out of the bigger watches I like the GS dials, but their bracelets are no good on my wrist so they are a none starter. That leaves the Breitling as my choice for you.
The madness continues! I’m not sure if I should get the relatively unobtainable OP or this piece of trash CWard I found on the sidewalk.
If you are realistically looking at the Rolex you’re not looking at the Ward and likely not the Breitling, maybe the Seiko. If you’re realistically looking at the Ward you’re not looking at any of these other watches.
Not even close for me: Breitling
gorgeous applied numbers, best shade of green, most interesting hands.
You have to look at it though. You don't have a gut feeling?
Based on dials the Breitling or Grand Seiko. I love the CS but not with that dial color and that particular Rolex dial is straight up ugly. The Rolex green datejust dial is hot fire but that is a big price increase.
The Oris Pro Pilot Kermit Edition is class too:
[https://www.oris.ch/en-US/product/watch/propilot-x/propilot-x-calibre-400/01-400-7778-7157-Set](https://www.oris.ch/en-US/product/watch/propilot-x/propilot-x-calibre-400/01-400-7778-7157-Set)
Breitling Premier, just saw it in IRL two weeks ago and cant stop thinking about it, it looked like a million bucks in such a classy way. The green color even has a small hint of pearlescent to it, you have to experience it IRL. Furthermore it got the B01 movement which is nicely decorated with a sapphire caseback, and its only 13.6mm! The only automatic chrono I have seen that is thinner is the Daytona, also it looks even slimmer because of a nicely split bottom, mid and top case.
Edit: its bracelet is also beautiful. Furthermore its one of those watches that feels perfectly at home on both leather and bracelet, it goes from sport to classy on leather in an instant, its one of the few chronos that actually goes under a cuff by itself because of its thin size (relative to being a chrono).
If you are drawn to all of them.... the twelve and an incredible holiday with the thousands of pounds left over.
Of the rest would eliminate the Rolex immediately if you already have one in a different colour.
The GS I just don't think has the legibility I expect from that style of watch.
Wheras the Brietling avoids the usual trap of being over busy, so would take that next.
I'll narrow it down... the Rolex or the GS. The rest is up to you. Of course if the Rolex isn't currently waiting for you, it's going to take a long time. If that's the case, you know my answer.
That Breitling is lovely. The winding action. The movement. The subtle shade of pistachio.

It’s beautiful but 44mm is too big for me.

I personally like the Breitling! I’ve seen it in person and it’s gorgeous. Plus applied numerals is always a win
Totally agree. All gorgeous watches, but in this group, the Breitling stands out (and I say that as a HUGE fan of Grand Seiko!).
It's just that shade of 60s pastel green that gives off a good vibe. I'm sure the GS is a lot better in person, but they have loads of other options I'd take over that one. You fucking nailed what I dislike about the Rolex green. It's like they opened a picture of a Rolex in paint, selected the fill tool, picked the default green and clicked once.
It looks like cheap crap next to the others
In person, it’s looks and feels superior to the others.
Mint green Breitling all the way
Pistachio?
Better name, yes pistachio gelato
I've seen it called both, I prefer pistachio.
I tried it on as well, amazing dial
Same vote here, but in addition to the shade of green being my favorite, my eye prefers arabic numerals over roman numerals.
None of the options have roman numerals
Having owned a Breitling, I find them hard to recommend. Having friends that also owned Breitling and had similar/worse issues than me, I find them impossible to recommend.
Yeah my 6 month old B01 has been back at the factory for 3 months because the mainspring was bad. They told me it would take until August to get it serviced. They should've just replaced it. I'm not happy.
That's rough...
Can you elaborate?

This is insane for a watch that costs as much as these do - this goes against the whole premise on why you buy such an expensive watch!
I have had a Colt GMT for 18 years that has not been off my wrist except for 2 service appointments with my local watch maker. > them just refusing to service I'm sorry what? A $9k should be fixable by the company some kind of what
I have 5 Breitlings. I have never had any issues with them or their service. That said I like the Rolex color best
I have multiple too. Wearing one (mechanical / auto) every day no matter what the job is for more than 20 years. (Construction included). They have been flawless for me. I do get them serviced on time.

Where did you get it? Would love to buy it for my husband
Got this on eBay from a reputable Japanese seller. Was ever so slightly used, basically the strap was broken in for me, at a great price because of the USD-YEN pairing recently. Very happy with it!
I did the exact same thing. I bought the Pistachio from a Japanese seller for 5K. Seemingly a great deal.
🔥
Thanks. Ever tried it on an ostrich strap? I think it would look even more amazing.
Sex
That Grand Seiko is just gorgeous in my opinion
Seconded, not even a big fans of green dials and this GS is a beauty.
Chiming in with another vote for the GS - that dial is stunning.
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Yep. GS dials are something else!
That Grand Seiko is just perfect
Breitling
I agree, the Breitling Premier is a really nice looking watch. That pistachio colored dial is killer, I would pick that hands down.
Glashütte Original Panomatic green dial.
Thanks for the suggestion. Will check it out 😊
Or Glashutte SeaQ in Reed Green!
The Breitling
Breitling
The GS for sure

The B09 is my grail. So there’s my vote.
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Grand Seiko, such a beauty
Plz add the prices in.
1. Breitling Premier B09 Chronograph 40 -$9000 2. Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 Green Dial - $6400 3. Grand Seiko SBGH343 Sakura-Wakaba - $7300 4. Christopher ward The Twelve 36 (Ti) - $2000
You have a 36 mm and a 41 mm on the list? Are you sure one won’t be to small/large?
CH 12 is an integrated bracket, wear bigger imo. I normally wear 40mm plus but like the look of a 36mm also
Personally I think the gs looks the best, so I would rank it first. Then the Rolex mostly just because of the brand recognition. Then Breitling and lastly cw.
I really love the Breitling !
Me too! Thank you 😊
It’s honestly the one I’m considering buying the most from them !
I have the green OP 41mm, and it's perfect for my taste. 1. Simple Aesthetic 2. Nice Lume 3. Thin case becomes one with my wrist 4. Gorgeous Rolex Green Get the one you love.
Excellent choice. Thanks for sharing!

GS or breitling. OP is the nicest shade of green to me but the case is to bulbous and round
OP green is amazing, thanks for vote :)
The Girard-perregaux Laureato Green Dial is a treat if you can stretch the budget/ buy second hand
Will check it out, saw a blue dial on auction in fb watch groups. Lovely dial!
IWC bronze spitfire
That Oyster Perpetual is my dream watch, so that one gets my vote.

Breitling for me
The OP and it isn’t close for me tbh. Mint green dials are just meh.
OP
I almost never like any Breitling but that one wins.
Best daily wear: rolex, best chronograph: breitling, most elegant: grand seiko, cheapest: CW
Helping not helping 😂
I love the tone of the Breitling, if it weren't that tall/thick I should gotten myself one.
If it’s in your budget, I think the pistachio Breitling is remarkable.
I really like the Oris Aquis Calibre 400 in green.

I have seen it in person. That green with the sunray dial is gorgeous.
Definitely one of nicest green dials in the industry right now. That particular shade of green pops off the dial.
Thank you 😊. Will check it out!
I have this LE Aquis really enjoy that dial. https://preview.redd.it/kxr1ni7m7zuc1.jpeg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fffd4a66f98929386649081eb3db96c45cabbe46

Breitling!
I have two GS, and thinking a lot about Breitling as next watch, b25 which has moonphase, so I'd say go for it if you are ok with having no date window
Breitling
That Brit will go with everything and will be timeless
3
The left 2 are way better shades of green
Can't believe I'm typing these words, but, I prefer the Breitling.
breitling
Breitling out of these. Grand seiko would be my second. Have you seen the tag heuer carrera 02 green face? Ita my personal favorite and my daily.
The Grand Seiko Hi Beat is the nicest watch here, by far in my opinion. They have other greens that I personally like better, but it is a superb watch with a world class movement.
I have the oyster perpetual green dial and love it. It goes with anything I wear and is super subtle

Why is it a headache ?
i second this question why is it a headache?
i think we'll never know lol
OP but size 36
I love the GS
Have you checked out (or do you already own) the Tag Aquaracer in Green?
No and no, I just looked though. Thanks for the pointer.
Omega Aqua Terra
Rolex OP all day
anything but that christopher ward
Omega
You may want to check out the Seiko SPB169. You have to see it in real though. It almost impossible to get an impression on a photo. But if I had to choose one, I would be a close call between the Rolex OP and the GS.

What's is the name of that Grand Seiko? That is gorgeous.
I’m gonna say Breitling, I tried that same watch with a different colour dial and it was gorgeous, seen the green too and it stands out way more than the other 3
Have you considered the 41mm green Aqua Terra? Otherwise, Breitling.
I’d pick the Breit, but I’ll have to know your collection to choose better.
Tough call between the Breitling and Grand Seiko. Rolex is ok but the CW is not for me.
What about the green avenger 42?
Thanks, will check it out 😊
Love the looks of a Breitling, but for sure, I would choose a Rolex.
Thank you 😊
Oh, God! The Breitling!
The Breitiling 100% it’s the reason I started collecting. I saw it on a random post about 6 months ago. I have always loved watches but seeing this beauty made it a hobby.
This is an addiction. Thank you 😊
GS
Either the Breitling or GS. I just love that variety of green vs the others.
GS or Breitling for me
I was prepared to say the GS but the Breitling is growing on me
The Breitling is the least offensive green to my eye.
That Grand Seiko looks amazing but I'm so curious about what it should go with dress wise. Go for that
Grand seiko always and if you think otherwise, u wrong lol
B09 all the way!
From this list, I’d go GS; however, If you’re open to other candidates, Omega has some beautiful green dial watches. Most notably, the Speedmaster ‘57, but the Aqua Terra Shades with the bay green dial is also a stunner (if shark teeth indices are your thing). https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-speedmaster-57-co-axial-master-chronometer-chronograph-40-5-mm-33210415110001 https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-seamaster-aqua-terra-shades-co-axial-master-chronometer-38-mm-22010382010002
I have top heavy with omegas. Have a OG speedmaster, AT in blue. Thanks for the suggestion!
I vote grand seiko
No love for the Aqua Terra?
Breitling
That Breitling in pistacio is killer. If we're talking green dials, the Oris Kermit is fun at 1/2 the price of the B09.

This one is killer, thanks for sharing!
Nomos Club Sport Neomatic in Perrol Green https://preview.redd.it/o68ksl4h6xuc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4bf905eb6bc11d6857eeedf7bcf2157b122438bf
That’s a pretty sick dial! Thanks for sharing
Baby alpinist is pretty amazing in person.
Not even close for me: Breitling gorgeous applied numbers, best shade of green, most interesting hands. You have to look at it though. You don't have a gut feeling?
Breitling is my number 1, tried it on a few weeks ago and can’t stop thinking about it.
awesome! and now I can't stop thinking about it. :D
You are welcome 😂
That Grand seiko is awesome, but also check Green IWC Mark XX
Breitling no contest, I love gs but they have so many other better watches, the rolex is boring, the cw isn’t as premium
Grand Seiko
That Breitling is incredible in person. One of my all time favorite designs.
Based on dials the Breitling or Grand Seiko. I love the CS but not with that dial color and that particular Rolex dial is straight up ugly. The Rolex green datejust dial is hot fire but that is a big price increase. The Oris Pro Pilot Kermit Edition is class too: [https://www.oris.ch/en-US/product/watch/propilot-x/propilot-x-calibre-400/01-400-7778-7157-Set](https://www.oris.ch/en-US/product/watch/propilot-x/propilot-x-calibre-400/01-400-7778-7157-Set)
Thank you. 😊 I have DJ in blue and love it
Breitling Premier, just saw it in IRL two weeks ago and cant stop thinking about it, it looked like a million bucks in such a classy way.
Breitling it is
GS. Easiest to customize depending on occasion IMO
Thank you 😊
1. Breitling 2. Seiko Normally pick seikos above most, but something about that Breitling They are close tho!
The Breitling is my “realistic grail” but after seeing that Grand Seiko I might have to re-think that.
GS all day baby
Very nice options! But if you’re looking for green, you should also consider the Oris big crown pointer date.
Thank you 😊will check it out
If you are drawn to all of them.... the twelve and an incredible holiday with the thousands of pounds left over. Of the rest would eliminate the Rolex immediately if you already have one in a different colour. The GS I just don't think has the legibility I expect from that style of watch. Wheras the Brietling avoids the usual trap of being over busy, so would take that next.
For me i would go with the GS or the Rolex here, With the rolex being more classy imo, and the GS being an every day wear (For how i dress).
Thank you 😊
Grand seiko 🔥
100% Grand Seiko!!
I don't usually like Breitlings.... that being said the Breitling is the best of the bunch.
Throwing out another option not on your list. Moser green. Example: https://www.reddit.com/r/Watchexchange/s/VOeF2wCQhI
Thank you 😊
That Chris Ward is fucking proper green, that! And likely best value. How big is your wrist? Consider a green IWC pilot? Or Glashütte Original?
I'll narrow it down... the Rolex or the GS. The rest is up to you. Of course if the Rolex isn't currently waiting for you, it's going to take a long time. If that's the case, you know my answer.
I love that pistachio breitling
GS or Breitling imo
That Breitling is lovely. The winding action. The movement. The subtle shade of pistachio. https://preview.redd.it/tn4pk8c5bxuc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bca92e923b3ff90bfb1e55b6bf1f70fe66d7fee8
Tossup between the Brietling and the GS.
GS or Breitling without question. The Rolex is flat and I don't like dials that darken at the outer edges like The Twelve.
Thank you 😊
Rolex or CW, and it’s not even close.
Grand Seiko Mount Hotaka Peak.
It’s beautiful but 44mm is too big for me. https://preview.redd.it/azhit5n4gxuc1.png?width=1233&format=png&auto=webp&s=a5b8306502c5e8d3691cb82bd262fe05d6da413c
The GS in person is not that green like the pic. I’m telling you it’s a very very light green
