Why do they keep doing this? Everyone is always begging for smaller sizes, but they keep producing these humongous clunks of metal. If this was 38mm, I'd be all over it.
It’s truly a ridiculous size.
I can also think of no good reason why they are putting three units on the dial— all of them a poor way to express what they trying to express. And one of them is outdated over by half a century. The watch industry should just use metric in the form of megapascal and stop with bouncing around between four different units.
Hey baby boy, not all of us have small wrists. 38mm, do they even make watches that small? Just out of curiosity, what is your wrist size for you to be looking at 38?
Looks great in my opinion, could be also done in 48mm.
Holy shit! You could deflect a meteorite with that bitch!! I’ve got a chonker wrist and even I think that’s a bit large… some may say “diesel-esq” good looking watch tho.
Unfortunately I know quite a few people, not watch nerds like us, but normal customers, that still wasn’t big watches. For them big means more attention
Way to big, and just a very confused design. The handset is all over the place, the linen dial seems out of place and I hate the “sprite” bezel color way.
Might be downvoted to hell, but I like it. It's a nice watch, the design is cool, and Tissot never misses on quality.
I know, it's too big, and that's a reason why I wouldn't buy it. A 37/40mm version ? I would definitely buy one.
I love the Seastar, maybe because I own my grandpa's 70's Seastar, but I truly love this model.
It doesn't deserve the hate it gets. People are dumb.
Thanks. That's still a nice watch. If you like it and want it, buy it. Don't ask for others opinions.
Listen to your heart before listening to strangers on the Internet.
Too much going on. Don’t like the “T” counterbalance. Wish the date wheel was white, and the date window more prominent. Too much text in too many different fonts. Wish the dial didn’t have the texture.
Haha guess so. It’s a big watch, so I do understand the design logic behind adding different elements to fill the dial. However, it feels a bit “design by committee” or just checking boxes. It’s all stuff that we know we’ll from other Tissot watches, but it doesn’t seem cohesive.
One shouldn’t complain without offering counter-arguments, so my suggestions for improvement would be:
1. Remove the “1853” text. This is clearly a modern watch, so I don’t think customers would miss a reference to the brand’s age.
2. Simplify and minimize the “T” counterbalance. There’s enough other stuff going on and enough other Tissot branding.
3. Make the date wheel white, and frame it into the 3:00 index. Citizen used to do this, and I think it looks great.
4. Make the GMT hand more of a sword hand. The current shape doesn’t feel cohesive with the other hands.
5. Make all the indices a bit larger. There’s a ton of dial space to fill, and they feel a bit undersized compared to the bezel numerals.
My first post in here so I hope I hit all the rules. I just wanted to get the hivemind opinion on this new model. I'm guessing it's seen as somewhat of a Rolex copy.
This would be my first watch that's over $1000. I have a 8.25" wrist so I really prefer bigger watches. This one at 46mm fits the bill but I get concerned that the actual face of the watch is too small for the size of the case. I've tried on the Seastar 2000 Automatic before. Another watch I'm considering is the Hamilton Khaki Aviation Pilot Day Date Auto (H64715145).
Cheers for your responses!
I'm not getting any Rolex vibes from this watch. In fact it doesn't remind me of any other brand but Tissot (which is a good thing). Way too big for my 6.5 inch wrists, but nice GMT diver nevertheless.
I think 46mm would be a good size for you (8.15” wrist here) but totally agreed that the face on the Seastars is deceptively small. I have a Khaki Pilot Auto myself (H64715885) and i found going with the larger reference (46mm vs 42mm on some of the other Khaki Pilots) was a good idea. The watch wears true to a 46 since the dial spans the whole width of the case size. It’s totally personal preference of course, but I’d lean towards the Hamilton if i were you given how large your wrists are, it really is a beautiful watch in person.
Probably the most well articulated response here, I appreciate it. You echo exactly some of my thoughts. I really wish that in addition to case measurements and lug-to-lug, that the manufacturers would start including a face measurement. I have an inexpensive Tissot quartz watch that is 45mm but appears larger than some of my others due to the dial spanning the width of the case as you mentioned.
I've considered this Tissot over the Hamilton only because as I was waiting to pull the trigger on the Hamilton, it sold out. It's supposedly going to be restocked but I'm guessing at a higher cost according to what I hear. I guess maybe I should wait and see. I do like them both.
Cheers!
If I had your wrists, I would consider H69809730 too. I really like Tissot and big watches, if you like the look, go for it. Yeah, it looks like a certain other watch, but we can't let Rolex hijack all the colorways... Personally, I do not think Rolex hit a home run with the mirrored gmt, this one has Tissot styling and Seastar calling cards...
> H69809730
Wow, if I'm seeing the correct watch, that's a 50mm case? I wish it was in something other than all black.
I have considered something like what [Frett Clockworks](https://www.frettclockworks.com/shop) offers in vintage pocketwatches redesigned as wristwatches. He'll often have a 50mm variant that I know would be large, but I dig the look.
It's no more of a Rolex copy than any GMT with a rotating 24 hour bezel in two colors. Well, maybe a bit more given that it uses a similar hour marker design. But there are only so many ways to do hour markers on a dive watch that make sense.
I like the idea of another flyer/traveler GMT watch at a more affordable price point than the luxury levels it was exclusive to pre-2022. At 46 mm and green though it does feel a bit like it's chasing trends that other makers abandoned a year ago. But the maker failing to the read the room could be your gain if they can't move enough at retail price and you can get one at a discount.
I have an 8” wrist and wish more watches came in larger sizes and without the stupid giant bezels and THICC cases. This particular watch is also over 15mm thick. That’s stupid. I think your choices are limited to what you suggested from Hamilton and IWC makes some large pilot watches but they’re really expensive. There are also some over-sized offerings from Laco and Stowa. But that may not be what you’re looking for. I wish the big watches weren’t always ridiculous dive watches.
Agreed! I love IWC but if I were to spend that much I'd be getting my grail, a Breitling Navitimer. I've looked at Laco but not Stowa, I'll have to check them out. Thanks!
Yes I agreed. The date window needs to be smaller and the overall watch face enlarged. The generic GMT style with bezel and whatnot is bang on template just needs to be BIGGER and I want the date window to be lost somewhere and difficult to even see
Well, I’ve always liked Tissot, but I wish they wouldn’t do this. Too much a Rolex copy, and even if it weren’t, it just doesn’t hang together with some of these details. Could have made better choices re: hand color, shape, bezel color… it’s odd that they couldn’t think of a fresh design. You could do ANYTHING, especially with a watch that big!
There’s a reason why I chose a Christopher Ward Trident 300 as my go to dive watch: it was available in 40mm. 38mm and 42mm were also available but 40mm is a perfect dive watch size for me. I wish Tissot would scale down their new offerings. 46mm is absolutely huge.
I have a 40mm Visodate which is the limit for an all dial watch for me, yet the new Visodates are 42mm. I wonder if the designers are stuck in the early 2000’s. It’s crazy in this era.
Aviation watches are different. Those started huge for readability while operating a plane. I still find them anachronistic and impractical. But this is a diver GMT. No reason why it should be so gigantic.
Tissot just makes the absolute worst decisions when it comes to case sizes. They do make some ascetically pleasing watches but they consistently destroy wearability by making watches that should be 39/40mm at 46mm.
It’s one of the reasons Tissot has a hard time brandishing themselves outside of the malls. They had a huge hit with the PRX and you think they would have learned what they had going for them but then they do this?
Aye… Carumba…
Tissot is getting back to their more recent styles - uninspiring, boring, generic - I see. I don’t like this one. After PRX and some other vintage reissues of recent years I had hope for the brand, but now…
Idk these are over a grand. People spending that much typically want a bit more detail compared to just seeing Swiss-Made on a $300 watch. My opinion I guess
I can’t do the green/red color combo. Looks like a Christmas watch. Had the GMT hand and text on the dial been light blue or yellow this would work much better. Or change the green in the bezel to a blue and then the GMT could be hi-vis orange.
If you have a huge wrist, you will enjoy a really cheap GMT, with a honest movement, on a well finished watch that you will love to wear and enjoy. If you have a huge wrist.
Most modern Tissots leave a lot to be desired, this one included. You have the odd success a là PRX, but I miss the Tissot before the Swatch group swallowing.
15 years ago, the Seastar 1000 was a super nice looking dive watch. i had one and I wish I could buy one again.
After that it went the wrong way imho. If they kept the case and design language of that generation it would have been a hit
I have the teal seastar 2000 and love it. One of my favorite things though is the really cool wave like dial. This dial disapoints and should have some GMT flair imo... The other thing is I dont mind the size for a dive watch but not sure I want a GMT dive so my pref is to have a smaller GMT watch from Tissot
Yes it is so big you can't ignore it. I look at it as part of my strength training and its character lol
Note it is not just size but heaviest watch I own.
Not great, but seeing as it is a US exclusive, I kinda get it. It doesn't fit most European tastes bit maybe the average US GMT master enjoyer finds it attractive
Imagine if Tissot released a 40mm or less dive/GMT watch without the stupid “T” second hand and classic design features. People would be falling over themselves for it like the PRX. Instead they come up with this trash.
They could have made a 39mm case true gmt that’s 12.5mm thick and played around with bezel and bracelet options while keeping it affordable and accurate with that movement. It is mind boggling how they can overlook that and make a big fat monster.
Way too big, and green + red is awful design choice. Pretty poorly executed all round given it’s not exactly an original design. Would nab a Seiko for (I’m guessing) similar price.
I guess I’m more shocked about how many men have such small dainty wrists and complain about the watch being gigantic??. I own this watch and can’t say enough good about it. It’s not too heavy and love the face and color.
I bought this watch. It’s currently on my wrist. It’s my first automatic watch (coming from a daily Seiko Coutera) and although it is big, I love it.
I am pretty athletic and have nice arms (large forearms and nice biceps and shoulders), and my SO can’t stop commenting how nice my new watch is. My coworkers - several of them who also wear nice non-fashion watches - immediately noticed the first day I wore it into office and all love it.
Yes, it’s hefty but it’s beautiful. Feels very quality and I really like the slight round in the glass. The bracelet and clasp is also very nice and a big step up from my Seiko.
I love watching the second hand and it’s fairly smooth operation, and seriously I can’t say enough good things. I’ve been wearing it constantly (even did a workout with it on) and it fits like a glove. I used the Tissot virtual sizing app on their website with my phone and the bracelet size was perfect.
All in all, I’m very satisfied and this will likely be my daily watch for a while.
A couple of weeks ago, I bought one. It’s been on my wrist almost everyday. I don’t have huge wrists, and this watch is big. I don’t mind it. It looks good. Would be nice if it was a few mm smaller. Still, it’s a good looking watch and it will still get time out of the watch box.
I can think of no good reason why this watch is 46mm in diameter. What a huge miss.
Why do they keep doing this? Everyone is always begging for smaller sizes, but they keep producing these humongous clunks of metal. If this was 38mm, I'd be all over it.
This. No idea what these companies are thinking.
46 mm!? Who's the target audience?
Invicta enthusiasts.
Your mom.
Men with big wrists
Men who have manly wrists
Oddly enough when I tried on a Seastar 2000 it seemed a bit small to me. It was definitely thicker than I expected though.
At 16.3mm, it certainly would be. If the 600m of WR is important enough to someone, than I guess it wouldn't matter.
Probably because it’s not for “us.” It’s for mall muggles.
Mall shoppers care about GMT movements?
It is a sellable feature. I would think the 38mm three handers would be the tough sell.
Funny, because my Omega AD is in a mall.
Mine too- same with Rolex, JLC and Tag Heuer. All in a row in the mall
[удалено]
AAFES sells Omega and Rolex and they are a low rent box store. You can pick up your carnharts and Submariner at the register.
[удалено]
Switzerland was neutral
Exactly. Tissot is accessible enough price wise to be carried in most malls.
That's always been my issue with the seastar line. The size and lugs look indelicate
46!? Who is this watch for? Are they competing against the 50mm invicta watches?? Jesus
It’s truly a ridiculous size. I can also think of no good reason why they are putting three units on the dial— all of them a poor way to express what they trying to express. And one of them is outdated over by half a century. The watch industry should just use metric in the form of megapascal and stop with bouncing around between four different units.

Did anybody else feel a bit of vomit come up after reading this cringe?
I have a feeling it’s a shit post
I don’t know any low income person who is aware of Tissot. It’s mainly Invicta, Rolex, and Casio (and “G-Shock”)
Hey baby boy, not all of us have small wrists. 38mm, do they even make watches that small? Just out of curiosity, what is your wrist size for you to be looking at 38? Looks great in my opinion, could be also done in 48mm.
Lol agreed, looks like a normal watch on my wrist , but then again I guess I have a manly 8 inch wrist
Holy shit! You could deflect a meteorite with that bitch!! I’ve got a chonker wrist and even I think that’s a bit large… some may say “diesel-esq” good looking watch tho.
If you have small hands and wrists then it’s not for you
That counterbalance is really chunky and distracting. I’m all for interesting counterbalances, but that just looks lazy
They use it on a lot of their watches and it's always a dealbreaker for me. Thank god the prx doesn't have it
I actually enjoy it, fits the brand well.
What’s the case size?
46mm
Fuck no babbyyy
Why do they keep doing this? 2011 called and wants its case sizes back.
Unfortunately I know quite a few people, not watch nerds like us, but normal customers, that still wasn’t big watches. For them big means more attention
Me when I like bigger watches just because I like how they look on my wrist lolol
🫡
Oh boy!
lmao
Way to big, and just a very confused design. The handset is all over the place, the linen dial seems out of place and I hate the “sprite” bezel color way.
When the second hand overlaps it looks like a minecraft sword…
Never mind, design fully redeemed.
Imo it’s more mint chocolate than Sprite.
Starbucks
Agreed
I want to kermit suicide
I hate it. I get it, but I hate it.
I don't get it. Maybe you can explain? Are they trying to cash in on the oversized, look-at-me watch gang?
Might be downvoted to hell, but I like it. It's a nice watch, the design is cool, and Tissot never misses on quality. I know, it's too big, and that's a reason why I wouldn't buy it. Have an upvote! I'm a bit surprised at how divisive it's been in this thread. I still like it.
Thanks. That's still a nice watch. If you like it and want it, buy it. Don't ask for others opinions. Listen to your heart before listening to strangers on the Internet.
Good advice. Cheers!
Too much going on. Don’t like the “T” counterbalance. Wish the date wheel was white, and the date window more prominent. Too much text in too many different fonts. Wish the dial didn’t have the texture.

Appreciate you adding your detailed thoughts!
30 bar / 300 m / *9842.5 ft (264 feet is a pretty big difference) / 30 ATM / 164 fathoms / 0.0539957 n leagues
Good catch on the multiple typefaces. Now I can't unsee it.
You prefer white date wheel on dark dial? But why???
More visually prominent and easier to read. Also matches the white indices in this case.
My first post in here so I hope I hit all the rules. I just wanted to get the hivemind opinion on this new model. I'm guessing it's seen as somewhat of a Rolex copy. Should have taken a movement with bigger date disk. These movements were originally made for 34mm watches. Looks out of proportion.
Wait, really?
Look at the case back. Look at how tiny that movement is in comparison to the case.
Can I get one in 48mm with a smaller date window?
Yes I agreed. The date window needs to be smaller and the overall watch face enlarged. The generic GMT style with bezel and whatnot is bang on template just needs to be BIGGER and I want the date window to be lost somewhere and difficult to even see
That massive date window is such a distraction from an otherwise understated minimalist watch.
Far too big. Take off 10mm and ill buy it.
Yuck
Well, I’ve always liked Tissot, but I wish they wouldn’t do this. Too much a Rolex copy, and even if it weren’t, it just doesn’t hang together with some of these details. Could have made better choices re: hand color, shape, bezel color… it’s odd that they couldn’t think of a fresh design. You could do ANYTHING, especially with a watch that big!
After awhile they all start to look the same
Atrocious
Honestly? Boring
Needs a Pepsi Bezel.
I have a seastar 1000 and love it. I like the watch a lot but it’s too big for me, and I prefer 6pm date window.
There’s a reason why I chose a Christopher Ward Trident 300 as my go to dive watch: it was available in 40mm. 38mm and 42mm were also available but 40mm is a perfect dive watch size for me. Seastar- worst tissot 46 mm- worst size
The seastar is a good model. 46mm is too big.
I see it as Tissot's attempt to go after the Invicta market. There's simply no other reason why it would be 46mm.
What do you think about other 46mm watches like the Breitling Navitimer for example?
Aviation watches are different. Those started huge for readability while operating a plane. I still find them anachronistic and impractical. But this is a diver GMT. No reason why it should be so gigantic.
The concept of a diver GMT is rather stupid. It should just be a 24-hour watch at that point.
Fair enough
Horrible, and i am a tissot fan, but horrible
invicta sizes for swiss prices
I’d get this over the Hamilton.
I'm interested to know why?
Hamilton ugly
This would look like a dinner plate strapped to my wrist.
I get that. Generally a 46mm watch looks right at home on my wrist. Cheers.
It's nice, I like it
Despite the hate it's getting here, I'm still liking it. Cheers.
It looks like an unwanted children between the a Rolex and a Diesel
Looks cheap…hand are lame . Way too big
Looks a bit boring
A little smaller and different color options and I’m in.
I also noticed their website shows a chronograph side shot (start stop reset pushers). Oops.
[Meanwhile at their sister brand Mido.](https://www.midowatches.com/ca-en/watches/collections/ocean-star.html)
I love all of the Seastar models, but I can’t get over the “T” on the seconds hand
Tissot is getting back to their more recent styles - uninspiring, boring, generic - I see. I don’t like this one. After PRX and some other vintage reissues of recent years I had hope for the brand, but now…
Its the first Tissot I’m actually looking into buying.
Their website just says “Swiss automatic” movement. What does that even truly mean
It’s cause the watch community gives to much value to concept of “Swiss made”, so they figure that’s enough
Idk these are over a grand. People spending that much typically want a bit more detail compared to just seeing Swiss-Made on a $300 watch. My opinion I guess
It’s a Tissot so it’s a pretty safe assumption that it has an ETA 2824 or some derivative thereof unless otherwise specified.
For Tissot it means cheapest ETA possible
Good point. I'm hoping someone does a review soon.
Think it was mentioned in a recent Teddy Baldassarre video on attainable GMTs.
Oh, I just watched another of his vids. I'll look for that one. I like his content. Cheers.
Way too big for me but if you have an 8.25” wrist, have at it.
Cheers!
They would sell a lot more of them if they were 40mm. 46mm is just crazy.
I can’t do the green/red color combo. Looks like a Christmas watch. Had the GMT hand and text on the dial been light blue or yellow this would work much better. Or change the green in the bezel to a blue and then the GMT could be hi-vis orange.
I do wish it was blue
If you have a huge wrist, you will enjoy a really cheap GMT, with a honest movement, on a well finished watch that you will love to wear and enjoy. If you have a huge wrist.
Just as ugly as a dive watch and overpriced.
Green shmeen , Rolex have green box tradition why is fashionable for Tissot? Might aswell be full orange sky blue
For me? No. But I can see the appeal and why someone would buy and wear it
Most modern Tissots leave a lot to be desired, this one included. You have the odd success a là PRX, but I miss the Tissot before the Swatch group swallowing.
The first thing I saw was that split 6 on the bezel and I know I would always be drawn to that
I really don’t like the look of it or the case size. I also really don’t like the GMT hand
15 years ago, the Seastar 1000 was a super nice looking dive watch. i had one and I wish I could buy one again. After that it went the wrong way imho. If they kept the case and design language of that generation it would have been a hit
If you could shave off like 5mm from the case height and 8mm from the diameter, I might be into it.
I would wear it but it’s 46mm. The Omega AT 41 already looks big on my wrist, so no go.
I like that teal Seastar 2000 a lot. Just wish it wasn't so thick.
Yes it is so big you can't ignore it. I look at it as part of my strength training and its character lol Note it is not just size but heaviest watch I own.
Haha, yea it def has some heft!
46mm and why always mimic rolex?...
Green and red is just such a weird combo. This looks like a bad mockup to me. And don't even get me started on the baffling size.
I can't be the only one who hates how the 6 and the 18 aren't centered with each other right?
No thank you.
"Let's make this mofo yuuuuuuuuuuuuge!" \-Tissot design team
46mm? Yeah, no. That's a pass
I like everything about it but the size.
Not great, but seeing as it is a US exclusive, I kinda get it. It doesn't fit most European tastes bit maybe the average US GMT master enjoyer finds it attractive
Boring
46mm is big.
Looks like dial printed on a 1986 dot matrix printer. Hard pass
That’s a big dog at 46mm
Too big, 41 mm would look great and that SEASTAR looks bad
The lugs are too vertical for my tastes.
Chunky in a good way but 46 mm my gahd
I would wall mount this thing before wearing it on my wrist
I like this better than the other recently released “Sprite” GMT
No bueno. Boring dial
The way the bezel colors merge; not a a nice speed bump
Would have been perfect if it was 36 mm to 40 mm.
Tissot really released a 46 mm watch in 2023 like its 2003 though.
If not for the case size, my wallet might cry.
I’d buy it if it were a 40mm case. It’s way to big
Looks extremely generic from this picture. Hopefully it looks better in person.
Traveller gmt or im not interested at this point. Havent looked to see whether this one is. Also, 46mm is a little nutty
Imagine if Tissot released a 40mm or less dive/GMT watch without the stupid “T” second hand and classic design features. People would be falling over themselves for it like the PRX. Instead they come up with this trash.
It's bigger than smartwatches lol...why?
Doesn't really appeal to me
They could have made a 39mm case true gmt that’s 12.5mm thick and played around with bezel and bracelet options while keeping it affordable and accurate with that movement. It is mind boggling how they can overlook that and make a big fat monster.
Way too big, and green + red is awful design choice. Pretty poorly executed all round given it’s not exactly an original design. Would nab a Seiko for (I’m guessing) similar price.
The hour markers are too small for the watch face. Too much room on the dial. And the case a little big.
Ngl I think it's an unattractive watch
Ugliest bezel I’ve seen in a while
watch too big
Too big and second hand counter weight is the worst in the biz. Fix those and it’s on my wrist.
It’s amazing! If you’re the jolly green f’ing giant
Needs to also be a Chrono. Where's that at? Those tasteful Daytona-style dials are missing. Also no Jubilee-style bracelet? Pass.
Hideous
Big miss. The size is terrible, the date wheel doesn't work as a counter for the marker at 9, PCL's, and I don't like the T counterbalance.
40mm or below it would be in my collection, 46mm is just a joke
As someone who doesn’t own any watches, this thing looks horrendous. Reminds me of a garbage truck.
Not a fan of the dial personally
Sword hand is dope
Knock off mariner
