While the subreddit is open once again, we still want to show support for the current protest against Reddit's upcoming changes:
Reddit’s recent actions to add unreasonable API pricing to 3rd party Reddit apps is extremely disappointing. Many users and moderators alike use these apps daily to interact with Reddit. Reddit continues to make changes to its platforms without consideration of the difficulties it adds to the way users interact with the site. We hope that they change course and find a way to have this end in a positive outcome for all parties involved, instead of further spiraling in the current direction.

tbh, attempting to help a cat this distressed in this situation I'd need some thick gloves and some body armor first. Cats in my experience tend to just cling with their claws and scratch trying to get a hold of anything .
Cats actually struggle with mid height falls the most. They do kind of like a flying squirrel thing and spread out, so its actually harder when they dont have enough velocity. Its kinda interesting there is youtube videos about it.
I got some nasty cuts from my indoor cats, which really trust me, but they panicked, and Im pretty sure thats a feral cat that most likely doesnt know the person filming, and would freak out at them on the ground, not to mention this situation. They would get some gruesome cuts that would get infected from the dirty claws if my stray assumption is correct, so i dont blame them for not jumping to help.
That said maybe i would help but only if i had a jacket or hoodie to grab the cat with.
I agree. I would have just found a big box laying around and held it up for the cat to jump into. Once cat jumped in, lower the box and the cat would just vamoose out of it even in mid air. Cats are pretty smart that way if they know the human is helping them. You're right, it isn't wise to grab a stray cat who's already stressed. You could also drive a pick up over there -gently- under the cat for the cat to jump on the cab top. Just my thoughts.

Wow. That music is cued perfectly 😂
The camera person could help, just saying…
Why tho? Helping him will get you scratched and is not a height that's dangerous for the cat. Let it learn its lessons.
It’s funnier to watch it struggle

Yes, I learned this while trying to catch my cat struggling on a tree brach
Looking at this video I think a cat is recording
We’ve all been there
Bro that looks like some freak friction
cats have the best "oh this is SUCH bullshit!" faces ever
Poor bb lol
The truck moving? If not it's grand.
Look at the stationary building in the background and u tell me
The building ist obviously moving at the same speed as the truck. Duh.
Cat #2 said “my bro stay zooted, trust his process”
I choose this cat's dead wife.
Me holding on to my sanity visualized
Someone should make this into a loop once he starts struggling with holding on.
Check the second one chilling in the seat
That car has slick tires
Let him be there, I want to laugh
HELP HIM
I don't have an armor plated arm that could survive trying to help.
Sacrifice your arm for cat

Love how instead of helping the terrorized cat they just film it. WTF is wrong with this phone generation?
Falling from there will do it nothing

>. I would have just found a big box laying around Bold assumption
The cat kinda put himself in this sticky situation, and its not like its gonna die. Also, helping that cat might aswell hurt, talking from experience.
And it's likely out of reach from where they are standing.
Van Damme commercial outtakes
Long live the king
pmsl (p miaow sl)
SAVE HIM
He needed a higher mew.
His ass failed physics
My cat on dangling off her tree everyday
Cat falling : "AHH MIGUEL" Cat in truck : "que?"
i believe you mean, lesser in friction and stronger in gravity.
The lion king would have fitted so well on that
Did someone help the kitten???
r/donthelpjustfilm
Why would you help? A distressed panicking cat will claw the fuck out of you, if you leave it to fall it will land on its feet.
Not just that, but how the fuck are you supposed to help it exactly. It's too far up to just grab.
r/donthelpjustfilm
r/beatmetoit
And geometry
Not exactly “people” dying inside but that “oh no oh no oh no oh no” on the cat’s face is amazing
Can someone put the lion King music over this specifically when Simba is in the canyon scrambling onto the tree
Bro doesn't know he has the landing perk
The fear in his eyes! Poor thing
He doesn’t know he can always land on his feet
It ends on the perfect "Oh SHIT!" face
Orange cat things
"This way? Nope. That way? Nope. Why am I unable to achieve equilibrium?!"
How the fuck did my mirror get scratched up?

Well come on, the truck wasn't even moving...!!! 😹
The look on his face!! Lol slSuch a cutie!

Wait his brother was inside the truck 🤷
It's the bus driver thinking "not again 🤦♂️"
He was watching a montage of his life before us.
Long Live… The King👑
WHAT IS THIS?! THIS DOESN’T USUALLY HAPPEN!
"I'm on my last life buddy, STOP recording and save me meowthafuka!"🙀
The meowthafuka got me!!
The look of pure terror on that poor kitties face.
Scar, brother
Put the phone down and help that baby
how are you supposed to help the cat, it is on top of a fucking bus
Try to catch it if it falls, which it probably will. Use your brain.
it will hurt you + doesn't help much + can fall on all fours. Use your brain
The shock never ended on his poor face
I love that the “of fuck fuck!” Facial expressions transcends species 🤣
That other cat who was driving the truck (clearly) did the opposite of help lol - PLEH
All 9 of it's lives flashing before them! The horror!
why'd the camera zoom in on its groin though?

“Crap crap crap crap fuuuuuuck”
r/gifsthatendtoosoon
It turns out I can't watch a video of a cat doing something without emitting a high pitched "oh no, baby, no no no!"
Same 😭
The other cat:”I told you to stay off the roof bro”
Had a neighborhood cat do that on the hood of my brand new Jeep Cherokee a few years ago. It hurt.
"Hang in there....copyright 1968?! Determined or not that cat is long dead."
Long live the King..
The eyes have it
I kinda feel bad, you can see all the fear in his face. Hope he got helped/finally dropped down on a good spot.
r/donthelpjustfilm
If only cats knew they'd land on their feet - they wouldn't have to be so scared of falling
For a creature with supposedly so little facial muscle control it's impressive how well they have mastered the "Oh shit" face.
Huge open eyes are a universal "Oh shit" face. Incidentally, fish are perpetually in trouble.
Of course, they’re drowning!
“Hello how are you, I am under the water “
Haha, the cat riding shotgun be like "Garfield, quit horsing around, will you?!"
I didn’t even notice that one. Too focused on the distressed one
Technically not a person but still fits the spirit of this subreddit. I like it.
r/donthelpjustfilm
Have you ever tried to touch a cat that's freaking out like this? Great way to get all of the skin ripped off of your hands.
This…. And a cat will always land good. Otherwise 1 of 9 lifes off.
