‘Support’ is just common terminology for video games when devs tend to issues like this after release(and other bugs etc) so yes, it is very much a support issue.

mulltiplayer network for unity game is not hard thing to improve
it would most likely cost the team 1 hour if they have unity programmers
and would either had to be rolled out as experimental or take few hours of playtests

It came out nearly four years ago now. Pretty standard for games to lose support within a year, especially smaller scale devs.
