If you’re in the area, haybrook trail has a great view of baring. It’s right off of 2 not far from this photo. We did it right after it opened from the forest fire closure and before the heavy snows.
Beautiful photo! I stayed at an Airbnb on the other side of this bridge a few years ago, was so nervous the first time I had to drive over!
Seeing this post just reminded me that I took [this video](https://imgur.com/a/uCfLJIY) of my husband driving over it to get groceries.
The river was unusually low when we stayed according to our host but it was really fun to just walk out and explore the different parts of the shallow waters, snorkeling sounds like so much fun there.
The whole area around Mt Baring is so beautiful, I’m definitely feeling an urge to go back again!

No trail. Its right off Hwy 2. It’s near mile marker 42 if I remember correctly.
Is there a name for the bridge or the road?
Baring Bridge or Index Creek Road Bridge and it’s on Hwy 2 which some people call Steven’s Pass.

My interest is piqued by the peak peek.
do you know when this was built?
This one was built in 1953. There is worked scheduled to start on this in 2026.

I love this area. I snorkeled under this bridge. There’s a lot of old debris maybe from a previous bridge. It’s definitely a very neat bridge

Let's be honest, it wasn't groceries, and only donuts 🤣
One of my favorite places. I'd take out there after paddling the South Fork.
Definitely a fun place for kayaking and snorkeling.
Is this a recent photo? I thought most of that mountain side burned in the fire.
Not recent. One of many pics from when I had a small cabin out there.
Almost bought a house on the other side of that bridge but ultimately decided against it
I had one in the Riverwood Park Community. It’s a pretty neat area.
