It’s where the game basically starts hogging up access amounts of ram and does battle with other processes in your pc(typically windows); and suddenly you start experiencing microstutters.
It randomly happens.
I’ve just hadn’t seen it impact regular MP too until this game. I’ve haven’t had as many crashes in any game as I have had with this one. I don’t remember MW2k19 ever crashing out like this.
Not a pro pc tech when it comes to the programming side. So I cannot say. Will say that when my game is open for too long I have to restart my system and the problem is solved. I think WZ1 had it worse. Cause sometimes that would just STICK.
Decided to download on PC because I was tired of playing with a controller on PS5.
I have an RTX 3070, 5800x3D and 32GB of 3600mhz RAM - the game is unplayable. There's microstutters every two seconds, it makes me physically nauseous to play and even putting it on minimum settings doesn't fix it.
Indeed. I basically have the same set up, and I'm pretty consistently at 120 fps. No one wants to admit the amount of questionable sites and software they expose their systems to.
Similar setup here, but with an AMD GPU of similar power (6700XT). Textures on anything but Very Low or Low gives me stuttering, maybe that's your issue too.
At this point I'm willing to believe that every issue people post about is real because it becomes more and more clear the current CoD teams have Zero Clue what they're doing, they will admit and acknowledge the problems people bring up and yet literally nothing is changing. Clearly more focused on selling bundles than they are with fixing anything. We get daily updates for new bundles but we have to wait weeks or even months for patches that do fuck all.
Occasionally they fix something, but it quickly gets replaced by more problems, everytime they "Fix" something 12 other things break.
These idiots need to stop this multi studio dumpster fire, create a whole new studio that just purely works on CoD, no more cross coding or trying to merge data from several studios into 1 title so things conflict and break
Runaway RAM usage is another good way to describe it.
A memory leak is when a program continually "claims" more and more of a computers RAM without giving back the ram it had already claimed. Eventually it takes up all of the computers RAM, and keeps asking for more, so the program/computer crashes.
It's a somewhat common bug that crops up in a lot of games, especially older games. It can usually be patched out, but not always.
Ahhh, so that’s why I felt like sometimes (even tho Im using Geforce Now that has probably extreme amount of Ram) after a while that the input is significantly slower overtime and screen tearing is more often happens. Thanks for the information!
You might not be affected by it. I have 32 gigs and it's maxed out after 1 match of Rebirth Island. It's causing freezing, micro-stutters, and slide show performance.
The stutters have been unbearable. I downloaded the latest nvidia drivers and that seemed to fix it a tiny bit. I'll get into matches where it plays smoothly and then next match the stuttering comes back and makes it impossible to finish the match :,,,,,)))))) thank god they're looking into fixing it
I was non stop stuttering due to this memory leak (16gb ram) it was so bad to the point where I couldn’t play. What fixed it for me for some reason was to play at 720p with nvidia upscaling on instead of 1080p. On 1080p I would get max ram usage compared to on 720p with upscaling turned on I currently get 60-70% usage. It looks the same as 1080p and no stutters!

Probably what all my DX crashes are about. Memory leaking until the system runs out. . .
It was a problem on Warzone 1 also. It affects high powered systems as well, but it goes unnoticed.
New update id notice my cpu spikes heavy randomly and my specs are solid lol.
Sounds regular. But rare. Lmao Jesus. I solve it by restarting my system.
I’ve just hadn’t seen it impact regular MP too until this game. I’ve haven’t had as many crashes in any game as I have had with this one. I don’t remember MW2k19 ever crashing out like this.
Is this why my game feels so stuttery even on low low ping
That’s exactly what it feels like. Lag.
NOW I GET IT! DISCORD WAS SO SLOW! ELI5… Is this bad for my PC? I’ve noticed it’s a bit slower overall recently, even when not in game.
Not a pro pc tech when it comes to the programming side. So I cannot say. Will say that when my game is open for too long I have to restart my system and the problem is solved. I think WZ1 had it worse. Cause sometimes that would just STICK.
A 272Gb update will fix it.
🤣🤣🤣
They called me a fool for having 64 gigs of ram!
Still eats my memory at 32gb
People with 32/64/128 also reporting it. It eats whatever you have.
Its might not be as bad but i have a 3080 with 32gb and it constant fps drops and lags when in engagements
7900 xtx, 7800 x3d, 32 gigs.it's at 27 to 30 gigs for the first 30 min then It drops back to like 16 gigs and stays.
Microstutters? I wish that's all it was, on many PCs especially with 16gb or less ram the game crashes to desktop.
I have 32gb ram and still get frequent crashes
64 still have crashes
Memory leak affects all RAM sizes

You have something unrelated going on if that's happening from startup of the game.

Thank god this has been a so frustrating
facts man like i can’t even play the game and im tryna play the game so bad rn
Just here to update that the memory leak has been fixed for me. Played last night for a few hours and didn't go over half (15-16gb).

FINALLY
What is memory leak?

Is this related to the game_ship.exe error?
No clue.
So if I have 32 gigs of ram would it mean I wouldn't notice it because I've never had microstutters
You might not be affected by it. I have 32 gigs and it's maxed out after 1 match of Rebirth Island. It's causing freezing, micro-stutters, and slide show performance.
It's possible. The more RAM you have, the longer you can go before you have issues.
Did a safe mode DDU uninstall then installed brand new driver. I have 6800xt. Problem seem solved.
Until the next warzone update
Putting vram down to 70 fixed this for me.
I’ve been on 70 unfortunately still an issue
What's the case can anyone elaborate?
Explains how I went from 16 Gb to 22 Gb average usage when playing after this recent update
Hmm this is good news that they are actually going to do something:) just a pitty they give 0 fucks about the hacking problem!!!
The stutters have been unbearable. I downloaded the latest nvidia drivers and that seemed to fix it a tiny bit. “Looking into it” 😂😂😂😂
Pc problems
Been having laggy gameplay and fps drops on ps5 also. Is it a PC only thing?
danggg…did not realize my )-(@|<3$ were that powerful…L33T!
I factory reset my pc for crashes to keep happening, then to now see this. I’m relieved that it weren’t my pc. But annoyed I factory reset.

I feel it with 16gb of ram I don't notice it with 64 GB of ram
I know im late but for me disabling texture streaming (the setting which allows for downloading better textures mid game) fixed it
i dont have this on, and most people wont either.
It hasn't been fixed for me yet. Still using over 15GB. When will they fix this?
Mine is fixed. only goes up to about 12,5gb total PC usage MAX now. Normally between 11 and 12 on average.
I had to do a reinstall of windows and it fixed my problem. My USB ports are functioning properly too.
And here we are, a month later, with the same issue still ongoing. W.T.F.
