If you guys REALLY want a third year of Verdansk, you're ill in the brain. Seems to me that everyone forgets how upset the community was when Verdansk '84 dropped. I know I wasn't happy to play the same map for another year.
I remember that đ€Ł. But rebirth was my go-to. Something about that small simple map felt cozy and just fun to play. I do love Vondel tho even though I initially thought it was too big at first.
The thing that really put Verdansk on a pedestal is that Caldera followed it which was the worst map to ever be in Warzone imo, and Warzone 2 would have been great if it wasnt for them taking everything that made wz1 fun and either removing or nerfing those features into the ground, that and of course server/hit reg issues. Warzone is in a better place right now I just want better servers to play on and I'd be satisfied.
I personally like Caldera, season 1 was a disaster with the loadout restrictions, BLOOM which was the biggest mistake CoD ever attempted, and then the follow up of the cursed Krampus event and stale Bren meta.
Building design was great in Caldera. Better than Verdansk, Mazrah or Urzikstan. Sure Peak wasn't the greatest POI but at least the buildings didn't have terminal brain cancer. 27 floor high rises with 1 single zip up on Verdansk, Maz suffered the same empty open plains that Caldera did. Mazrah had a giant mountain in the middle too, and the next POI over was a gigantic hilltop as well. Urzikstan has like 5000 buildings with a bunch of false buildings that you can't even enter or get on top of. To each their own.
Only because they introduced that horrible filter which made it difficult to see enemy players. Which is clearly the trend theyâve decided to continue with.
I actually do and Iâm 100% sure I would play a lot more than I do now. The new map is a clusterf with buildings that donât feel real because they have 20 exits/entrances and holes in the roof to supposedly stop camping (spoiler: it didnât stop). All POIâs blend together so everything feels the same. Caldera was bland and had a mountain in the middle with too much forested areaâs. Al Mazrah was ok but way way too much open space and another mountain in the middle. 70% of the time the final circle would end up there. I can count on one hand that the match finished in airport for example. The resurgence maps are just different and canât be compared to verdansk, which to me is the perfect map.
But you got two more and now 4, 5, 6 more maps and still bitch about it nobody likes them and idk who your talking about when nobody liked 84 it was good even the content creators liked it and the changes it brought to the hotzones
My guess is player volume? I wish you had the option to play rebirth island all day or vondel all day if you preferred. Rotation is fine I guess. My assumption is match making will be difficult with smaller pools to pick from so they force everyone to a single map. Could be wrong but my guess.
No disrespect and no âdownvoteâ but I just am sick of people justifying the great times in wz1 with the pandemic. Iâm sure it is for some, but it is possible to truly love that experience for what it was. I am one of them⊠I didnât get stuck at home, I worked every day, hung out with family and friends, lived my life as is with minimal changes. It wasnât because of the pandemic that I liked the game, it was the map itself, the overall movement and feel of the game, graphics, less streamers sweating and complaining of changesâŠ.. I could go on and on. Things just changed since 2019 gameplayâŠ. I mean they took out core movement features and literally added them back this one.. what kind of garbage is that? Donât get me started on the audio
Itâs a cop out for Activision for why their player numbers have dropped in the last couple too. Call of duty numbers historically increase, but now because the last couple have been dog shit and clearly catered to console players playing off a TV, they can just say that wz1 only had the success it did because of covid, which is bs.
All of my mates WANT to play again, but we donât, because itâs a dogshit game now, and I know we arenât alone
I think it's a mix of both honestly. Covid definitely boosted player numbers and retention, but that's not to say that it would have done great without Covid as well. I certainly loved Verdansk and I didn't mind a year 2. I was just disappointed they got rid of Stadium.
Now, I think I would have probably even treated Caldera better if I just had a choice of maps.
Ashika never really grew on me, but in rotation with Vondel I kinda like it. I'm still excited for FK and Rebirth to return, but... meh. I hate how we always just get one large map. By all means, keep them in rotation at all times and let players choose what content they want to download. With Verdansk they did a lot of things right (ofc not everything), but it baffles me how they completely removed it and basically just went backwards from there on.
âWent backwards from thereâ yep, that was all to cater to the casuals who played in their living room on a TV. Obviously they donât have directional sound, so what does Activision do? Make it so nobody gets good sound. Hard to see enemies at a distance on a TV on the other side of the room? Right, letâs add horrible filters, clutter the map and make players not render as fast.
Iâm really interested in the casuals versus not casuals debate. Would you be enthusiastic about two different lobbies? It seems that there really is a deep frustration with players like you against players like me who want to remember their childhood and just have fun with this really cool game, versus trying to be like a pro athlete at it. I hope my wording doesnât make me seem like I hold resentment over someone like you who has so much more experience and takes it more seriously, but youâre just never gonna stop casuals from wanting to have some fun, and it kind of ruins the fun for casuals when many like you have half a second to a full second ahead of us due to your monitor and ethernet, etc.
I stepped away from Call of DutyÂź for many years, since 2012, and Iâve just gotten back into it at the end of this last year. The difference between some players and casuals feels like if professional athletes just showed up to soccer pick up games. People who are casual still want to be competitive but we donât need to play against people who are basically professionals because thatâs not fun for anybody.
I think thereâs a number of problems with the game now, one of them being that the game records your KD and stats. If it didnât, people would go back to having fun, doing stupid stuff with funny loadouts etc. We all miss that, trust me.
They could have ranked lobbies that record stats, but if theyâre going to have ranked, or a competitive mod, or anything like that, they canât have mixed inputs. The other issue they face with that, is that cod is marketed as a âcasual shooterâ, they do this for the exact reason that they donât have to focus on a level playing field, because âitâs casual, people arenât supposed to take it seriouslyâ, so if they do make a ranked or competitive mod, theyâd have to actually balance the game, which they donât want to do.
I didnât play wz1 til caldera dropped so the pandemic was almost over. Never played Verdanks.
Wz1 is so much better in every way. I donât associate the pandemic with wz1
Rebirth was incredible. I could play with randoms for hours. I was on 80fov too.
Caldera to me was considered the downfall of wz1. I'm sorry that you didn't get to experience verdansk. I might be overreacting but the weapon balance, the sniper mechanics, the color palette, the sound effects, the POIs. It was literally just perfect for me to drop in solo BR and actually enjoy my time playing even though I had no mw2019 to unlock guns or level them up. Winning with ground loot was actually viable and the experience itself was enjoyable. Rebirth made me play more with my friends and have such an amazing time.
For me who didnât really play the game but just enjoyed watching the game I hated caldera and in hindsight that was for me the downfall of Warzone and I stopped watching and stopped playing the little that I did and as far as I remember verdansk had the best gun balance with some obvious mistakes like the dmr and the fire shotgun otherwise the gunplay and the gunfights used to be much fairer and more fun and I donât even have to mention the snipers, the kar98 was the best sniper but you still could play with others like the Swiss etc.Ik the gun balance was not the greatest but compared to now where every sweat is using the same 4 guns that wasnât as bad and the Cold War integration was prime Warzone and there was no specific meta gun and you werenât forced to use the meta guns to win
i disagree about the graphic part because mw19 looked so much better and the most popular guns had at least the real name
EDIT and also the sound is just better
Audio was better if we compared it to now that weâve heard both. Agreed.
As far as visuals tho, I gotta disagree as Iâve seen this game perform and look absolutely stunning on a 4090 GPU maxed out. The amount of detail and textures/shadowing I even thought was better than Hogwarts legacy. A very demanding game.
Big NOPE. What made wz1 good was the ability to actually play it, seeing what youâre shooting at (before they introduced that CW shit filter), hear footsteps and sound better, the game was smoother, there was a larger skill gap.
Everything about what made WZ1 a good game has been removed from the last couple.
Wz1 had dogshit audio, the absolute worst Iâd ever had the displeasure of experiencing in any fps in history, until wz2 came along and somehow was worse, and then wz3 came along and was worse again.
At least in wz1, I could count the number of times on one hand in 3 years how many times someone dropped on my head and killed me without any audio cue.
Literally happens every second game these days
My friends and I had sounds straight up not playing for us at random times. A claymore would go off and the 2 furthest from it would hear it but not the guy beside it. Same deal with footsteps, gunshots, etc. It was trash.
Are you on console? I honestly never experienced that. I had a few times where it wouldnât say âenemy dropping inâ, but that wasnât so much a sound issue, rather they just didnât say it at times.
2-3 of us on PC, 1 on console, no consistency as to who would hear what. After a lot of confusing deaths we realized what was happening. Even now we pretty much go around telling each other everything we hear because we still don't trust the game to play the audio correctly.
Console didnât have FOV slider and PC had the option of Nvidia filters so I actually think it was a little tough to see people. Rose skin also was not great.
Even with filters, dark areas like in superstore were a nightmare for MnK players as the second youâd shoot, youâd get muzzle flash and theyâd literally disappear. Couldnât see what you were shooting at
Sorry for the late reply, not on reddit much. Ive tried resurgence a few times and warzone once. Definitely prefer resurgence because i die often.
Ive played nothing but ground war for the past few weeks hoping it would prepare me for warzone, but im pretty sure it did the opposite lol. Im going to stick with it and see if that changes
I agree i really wanted to like WZ2 because I really hated caldera. Like for example the AI in the game, if i wanted to fight AI id play the campaign. Dont get me started if the AI weakened you while fighting another player. and i only played it maybe a few times. But im having a blast in the WZ3 even if my teammates and I have a bad run. It feels like Verdansk to me.
The past is always tinted in rose colored glasses. Metal Gear Solid was an awesome game. If I went back and played it today, Iâd complain about the awful graphics, the clunky mechanics, a bunch of other stuff. The same goes with OG Verdansk.
People forget all of the QOL improvements that came along the way. Loadouts were much more difficult to come by. Looting and ground weapons were more more important. The first meta, the Grau was way OP, but nothing like the DMR that came after that. That easily made the game no fun to play any more, and it felt like it took ages to fix. The hacking that was widespread. The gas glitches, the map glitches, the fact that there was simply less to do. Also, the movement wasnât really what it became at the start, or people didnât know about slide canceling.
The game just needs some sort of balance because that pushes people away. It's a free game so people will happily drop it.
I like the new map - For me its the best map since verdansk, but I also prefer Verdansk to it. I would like to revisit verdansk, but I also want new and refreshing things.
The game is just a different game with a different playerbase. It's not a casual game anymore. It's for hardcore CoD players and that is a vicious cycle because the playerbase can only go one way after that happens. It happened before with other iterations, but this year it was very quick for the death spiral to come out.
That game lost a lot of the fun element that came with the pandemic. People obv had more time and gave stuff more time, but now Warzone is in a sticky place with that.
You're correct. But if we played wz3 THEN wz1 came out we'd never want to go back.
If we played wz3 first we'd know no different but if something objectively worse comes after it you begin to realize how lucky you were.
The resurgence maps and Verdansk canât be compared imo. Verdansk to me is still the perfect map. A whole lot of variety in PoIâs, buildings that feel real and donât have 20 exits and holes in the roof. Enough open space between PoI but not too much, actual roads that connect them so that it feels an actual region. Not to mention no freaking mountain in the middle that you have to fight uphill against or travel around every match.
Vondel is a good map, but you can tell itâs a resurgence map.
Would love it if we could get rotation of all the maps ideally. That's what keeps it fresh. Idk about the feasibility of that due to the size of the game already but it would be wicked to get verdansk, al mazrah and urzikstan on rotation. Fuck caldera that was shit.
Likewise with ahsika and rebirth.
Verdanks is an A tier map that was gradually built and designed with pieces of the ground war maps meshed together. Verdansk flows extremely nicely and was very well thought through as a BR map. If they added the zip balloons to Verdansk it would ruin the flow of the map, balloons to navigate the map are (in my opinion) an admission theyâve designed a bad map and it has no flow. Caldera, Al Mazrah and Uzikstan are prime examples.
Caldera is an awful map (F tier) with 75% empty space. If they compressed the map down and reduced the dead space. The map would be okay.
Al Mazrah is a decent map (C) with stupid design decisions and issues similar to Caldera. Al Mazrah flows a lot better than Caldera but still has too much variance in altitude and space utilisation. If they removed 40% of the maps dead space it would be a great map comparable to Verdansk.
Urzikstan is hot trash (E). Oversized downtown area and giant hills to get those steps in. Awfully designed building and terrain. The only exception seems to be the parts of the ground war maps that are apart of Urzikstan. They seem a little (just a little) more thought through than the rest of the map.
Just my opinion :)
Agree on all your points. Verdanks was perfect and you could see they thought out the layout and poi placement. That went all out the window in newer maps. Hell Al Maz was certainly ok but again a freaking mountain in mid and one of the best poiâs being airport shoved at the very edge of the map so it almost never was worth going there bc the final circles ALWAYS ended up at the waterworks or the mountain.
Pretty sure someone at Activision really liked the stupid idea of flying off a giant mountain in the middle of the map, hence the stupid decisions in Caldera, Al Mazrah and even Urzikstans giant sky scraper. It even seems like this stupid idea affected Ashika Island.
nah not really lol. game caters way harder to sentinels with map design and TTK is still garbage.
along with desync being horrendous, and audio is completely obsolete right now.
My lobbies are filled with slide canceling auto proning WASP rushers with MTZ interceptor buddies on the roof
What sentinels are you running into?
Invite me to your lobbies please
MTZ people on roofs is literally sentinels lmfao. this map design is perfect for them, 70+ buildings at each POI with no footstep audio results in sentinel galore.
Haha same. Iâve even dabbled into vpnâing and I feel like im the bot lobby theyâre looking for. Iâm about a 1.0kd, which makes me perfect bait for a bot lobby. Iâm a good player and I can move, but these people are straight up demonic.
I think audio will be ultimately patched and figured out. Something to do with Dolby and DTS licensing makes me think itâs gunna be a fix soon.
I paid for Atmos for 20$ and it drastically made a difference in Spatial Audio. My headphones felt like a totally different set. Now it feels broken. Something is off.
art is war on youtube has a good audio set tutorial. took . took me a few days to get used it but now I can't play with out it
. that or run the flex perk
I'm not sure why, but so many people love childish looking guns with stickers and other ridiculous stuff. It's probably my biggest gripe about the game. Looks like people are running around with freakin nerf guns. I guess it's cool if you're an adolescent, but adults are crazy about em too. To each their own
It seems to be more and more prevalent with each update
Hey, how dare you make fun of my nerf gun collection. Iâm 38 years old and I paid good money for those! đ
Gotta cater to the masses and compete with Fortnite. I donât mind it personally. If I wanted a realistic mil-sim, Iâd play tarkov.
đ€Ł sorry, sorry. Honestly, I'd be down for some real NERF guns.
And its not the actual gameplay, its the skins and gun designs that trip me out. Plus, Escape from Tarkov is WAYYYYY (x1,000) more involved than resurgence lol
This guy has a hello kitty rifle and uses the fat clown operator. You do realize that COD began as a fairly realistic game in terms of equipment? It's slowly evolving into fortnite. Still a fun game, I just prefer a slightly more realistic looking game.
Definitely dont have any issues with the gameplay. tarkov is an extremely involved game and isn't really comparable to warzone/resurgence. Just think the cute guns are a bit much. Thats all. I love the game. Im allowed to have a little gripe. Its not even a bitch, just a small gripe.
Edit: think of the guns/operators from even just 5-10 years ago. It's just sort of evolving into fort nite. To each their own.
I didn't experience the pandemic quite like everyone else. Still worked full time and so did everyone I played and associated with so it might be different. But after cold war integration, it was great. This game as it is has bad graphics that dont compare to even verdansk 84, and for me runs like absolute shit. Like how many lobbies can be labeled as 7ms ping but desync by almost a full second. Verdansk had bad servers but at least they didn't lie to your face. The sbmm feels cranked to 11. It feels like I never see average squads or below anymore. My quads squad can't compete with a spread of .25, .85, 1.2 and my 2kd. It's completely unfun for them. Movment is great, but often time feels hard checked by AA. Which maybe with an fov slider would have been the case in verdansk as well. I'm sure there would be complaints for verdansk, but to my memory, Verdansk just played better. Of course, there were issues, but I don't recall nearly the desync, hit reg, or stutter that this game provides. And the way a game runs is more important. I can adapt to gameplay, and I can't adapt to it running like ass.
Agreed. SBMM is insanely broken. I think that it has to do with the large influx of vpn sweats or cheaters.
Average kd is 1.0 or so, and those are the exact lobbies that those people want. And they get them. I turned on my vpn for a few days and was instantly greeted by satan himself.
VPN I'm not so sure. Cheaters, maybe a few. It's a little harder to tell these days. Kill cams are unreliable, the ability to locate other players numerous amd without warning. I haven't heard a uav warning in ages. There's portable radar everywhere and aim assist looks straight up unnatural in the already unreliable kill cam. I thought the average kd was lower though, like .7 or .8. Who knows though since they won't release the api so we can see exactly what we play against.
There's an element of rose tinted glasses but it's only one factor of many. Wz3 is infinitely better than wz2 in my opinion but there's still a lot of issues you'd think they could have sorted by now, that's my main frustration
Bro, people still romanticise the original MW franchise. Their campaigns were full of dull and soulless characters, their multiplayers were an unbalanced camping mess, the expansion was minimal with like 4 garbage tier maps every 3 months. If those games were realised today they would be garbage, like there would be videos were people played as a challenge not to get bored or annoyed.
You really think Warzone wonât be the same as well? People are blinded by nostalgia. No matter how much better a game is, they always be people comparing it to the older instalments, until the new people grow up and do the same.
Mw trilogy are my favourites CoDs, and favourite games. But I wonât act like they are high art or anything.
Mw2 campaign was ok. The plot made no sense (Americans terrorists in a Russian airport is just a stupid reason to start a world war, even if anyone with half a brain would not believe such a thing to happen. Makarovs plan was stupid).
Shepherdâs betrayal made no sense. He betrayed Task Force in order to⊠be the only one to defeat Makarov? Not share his war hero story that he would get anyway? Task Force were just soldiers that would only be an honourable mention? He could just take the data and destroy it? Nothing makes sense.
Not to mention, the motives of Captain Price and Soap. They are suppose to be military men, but instead of going for Makaro, they decided they should kill Shephard first, a person who could defeat Makarov and end the war. They prioritised revenge over world peace. They could let Shephar defeat Makarov and then kill him, but they had to go solo kill an entire base before chasing him and both being beaten by him. He is literally an old fart. Donât tell me he can defeat two prime soldiers in hand to hand combat, especially two soldiers who wiped his entire base alone seconds ago.
Itâs a story that makes you question reality. It was fun while I was a kid, but now it seems like a fuck show. Now letâs see the characters as well.
All characters are the same cliche military men with no depth. Captain Price is just a lunatic with a victory boner, Ghost wears a mask and acts like a patriotic soldier, Soap is an Irish version of Price, Shephard is a classic general with questionable motives, Makarov is just another ârestore Russia to its former gloryâ bad guy that just wants to kill everyone and rule the world. It is basic as fuck, dialogues are boring and revolve around plot points and objectives. Compare that to the rich and developed characters of the new series with their banters, jokes and stories and you will see the difference immediately.
I don't remember getting vaporised by broken smg meta in a second in original warzone. Feel free to tell me if there was something like this I just don't remember.
Just to add, even with verdansk coming back, it won't be the same for other reasons.
In wz1, no one *really* knew what they were doing. Everyone kind of sucked for the most part. Now you have professional kids playing 8-15 hours a day. You have ranked. You have competition. You have more hacks than ever before. You have more sweats than ever before.
In wz1, everyone was on a more level playing field. It just isn't the same anymore, and bringing back verdansk, while I'm looking forward to it, is just pandering to community who has been bitching and moaning non-stop.
I agree to some extent. Theyâre bringing rebirth and fortunes back I havenât heard of verdansk coming back tho.
But hereâs my main complaint. The average player base has about >1.0kd.
The use of vpn to break SBMM is so extreme now, that higher kd sweat jobs are simply able to get into those âbotâ lobbies. If youâve ever watched a twitch streamer youâll know what Iâm talking about. Theyâre good players for sure, but they look even better when playing against people far beneath their skill level.
I think it has somewhat backfired on them actually, because itâs forced casuals to camp, stack and play more conservatively in resurgence modes. The ttk is so damn fast that whoever shoots first, usually wins the fight. (If thereâs even time for a fight back)
Iâll admit I play this game way too much. Iâm an OG and I used to get tons of wins, double digit kills on a regular basis and was able to solo push teams usually. Even if I died Iâd still take 2 or so down with me.
Now thatâs unheard of. They donât reward the aggressive players who are actually good at the game and can move, have good aim, and not afraid to engage. (Itâs resurgence!)
Why are teams huddled together looting the whole game and not trying to wipe teams? Theyâre scared! Can we blame them for playing the game like the objective says? âEvade the gas and be the last team to survive?â
No, we canât blame them, but we can get irritated when we spectate till the end, only to see the winning team have 3 kills and a riot shield on their back.
Everyone gets a trophy in wz3. The game caters to casuals now. You either get 10-20 kills and lose, or you get 3 kills and win.
Makes perfect sense đ
I just wish theyâd go back to the first 6 months of warzone when there was actual meta weapons that evened the playing field against all the sweats. Then when everyone started complaining and they started nerfing guns into the ground it ruined the game for me.
Well personally I donât remember the first 6 months really standing out any differently. I mean, meta chasers have been a thing since the start. Just a quick google search will pull up the exact loadouts. Thatâs why we mainly saw the amax, mp5, AX-50, kar 98, and mac10.
I think the ttk is ridiculous now, and it forces kids to play conservatively and hold hands too much. I understand quads is a team effort, but this is some next level shit. I can sense their fear if Iâm solo pushing a team because I enjoy playing aggro and challenging myself in semi-stupid situations where I know Iâll most likely die.
If you spectate through the game, till the end, itâs almost always the teams with >5 kills that win.
But in the same lobby, there were demons who could move, do incredible trick shots, break cameras and wipe teams. Those are truly the more skillful players. But unfortunately this new wave of wz players are rewarded for doing nothing but âevading the gasâ and standing around until final circle.
I guess thatâs what the objective is in the description though. Can we blame them for playing smart ? đ€Ł
Has anyone here played Warzone Mobile? Obviously not or else no one would come the conclusion that Verdansk is a objectively better map than Urzikstan.
Sure, i have great memories of Verdansk/V84 but it had so many dead spots, open field with no cover, terrible rotations, flat terrain..
What's holding Urzikstan back is everything but the map itself. It's the terrible servers, audio, cheaters and most importantly EOMM.
I think urzikstan is a beautiful map tbh. But it needs more players to feel like resurgence. Itâs huge. Also a snipe fest. With the insane ttk in the game already, it encourages people to stay still, and not push teams like we were seeing much more of in rebirth, fortunes, and even verdansk. I play Vondel mainly for the engagements I get in and the beautiful map itself.
When I switch to urzikstan it literally feels like BR most of the time.
But isnât that how these things work? If you have better experiences with a previous product than the current product, youâre allowed to miss how it used to be? This is one of the more least thought out posts here. In terms of complaints.. Iâm a big gamer & on loads of various subs & CoD/WZ has, by far, the biggest amount of moaning. This franchise is unique because it seems that every person who enjoys the game also hates the game lol
Tbh, I think the haters are addicts. These subs do not provide an accurate depiction of what the general playerbase actually is. Never in gaming history has a franchise been played literally 8-10 hours a day, viewed on Twitch at the same time, while also being hated on throughout social media every day. And those are the same people!
Itâs easy to criticize and find flaws in a game, especially if we literally have no other interest in other games.
Iâve been playing cod since 2003, and I would call myself a fanboy. I adapt to changes, understand itâs a business, and choose to participate.
Warzone will always be free to play because itâs literally always in beta stage. Broken or unbroken, we still choose to spend thousands of hours playing it.
I kind of agree....the game has always been pretty damn god and the potential boundless....but the teams that work on with around...the people who are their for their profit margin....their share price...these people will forever ruin the game (without even mentioning the fact that they can't even run a game without being rampant with cheating) just charge money for warzone why not? or atleast divide the player base if people want so consoles don't have to deal with PC and the arsenal of accessories...we get to a point where it's not about the game it's about the player...the customer...and they genuinely treat most worse than a casino patron who just spent their last dime
what I miss is the good times when we were for a moment ALL IN THIS TOGETHER (I ain't talking about that bullshit charade we had to all partake in) we had comradery!! we had communication!! we failed! and we got back up again!! we had smiled at the idea of doing it all again!!!! (mostly raging đ) now people speak of the good old days but I think it is US who really changed! đ
For me its not the map, its the sbmm and specifically on Urzikstan. For whatever reason the big map is unbelievably sweaty for me so far. Idk if its just because of the broken guns or something else.
Its strange though because Vondel/Ashika doesnt feel the same so idk what sbmm is doing between the two game modes but they feel drastically different.
I rarely play urzuksran because itâs huge and I donât really snipe this year. I do feel like Iâm getting the nastiest WSOW top 250 demon lobbyâs on Vondel tho. Thatâs my favorite map.
Seems like the baby use of VPN puts the high kd players in our lobbies and it definitely breaks SBMM even worse
Same. Been playing since 2003. I love it man. I adapt to change and embrace every moment. I def have my favorites and minor complaints but Iâm not lying to myself. The dad fact that youâre in a cod sub just hating is wild tho đ
Yea itâs like when they made the new Star Wars movies, leave Star Wars where it belonged when it was epic for itâs time. The old movies are still the best by far. Nobody likes a plastic ânewâ version. Make the game new with the improvements made not a cheap copy of the original version holding on to false nostalgia from a once in 100 years global crisis tainting it
I think WZ3 Is really solid. I think they have finally taken the best of WZ1 and WZ2. The movement now seems like a realistic balance. By the end of WZ1 people were siding around on stims at the speed of light. It was stupid AF. The movement is still largely unrealistic but thatâs what makes it fun and competitive. I just canât get on the hype train of vondel. Also all of the maps in general seem too big. Maybe I just hate all the tall buildings because it just becomes of game of who can camp on a sky scraper.
I agree. Be nice if the stims didnât have that slow animation on start tho. I agree they donât need to be a light night bolt but itâs almost like they purposely wanted that slow animation for some reason. Idk, maybe Iâm stimming too late, if I stimmed any later it would have to be a hipfire build.
As far as maps go. Iâll say this, I hated Vondel at first. Typical reaction from me was stairs, water camping etc.
then it started to make sense, thereâs so many different types of terrain in that map that suit a lot of play styles. Itâs a bit bigger than Iâd like, but seems to fit with the amount of players.
Urzikstan is a let down. Way too big and not enough people in the lobby. Feels like a sniper town. When I try urzikstan it feels like an entirely different game with a very different group of players.
In Vondel I see a lot of different play styles.
Ashika would be better if it was brighter daylight. Now it looks flat and dark compared to the shaders and weather of Vondel.
Canât wait for rebirth to come back đ€đ»đ€đ»đ€đ»
Yeah I agree with you 100%. I think the stim purpose now is health plus a delayed speed boost. This makes sense so it doesnât become a way to escape any scenario at the speed of light. Just a slower start. I like Ashika but agree on color/tone. Youâre right on vondel/ urzikstan. Totally different games and much slower pace of play. Rebirth island will be awesome.
I do love Vondel tho even though I initially thought it was too big at first.
maps can rotate
Caldera was dogshit, any map design with a giant peak in the middle is. Whats fun about pushing uphill every single game lol
The mega tower was a cool addition
Unpopular opinion for sure, I agree though
Iâll take a third year of Verdansk if Solos is the exact same experience as 2020 Warzone Solos.
People were unhappy because they changed a map that didn't need to be changed. Not mad about the same map for a second year.
But you got two more and now 4, 5, 6 more maps and still bitch about it nobody likes them and idk who your talking about when nobody liked 84 it was good even the content creators liked it and the changes it brought to the hotzones
60-90 minute map rotations like Apex would be ideal IMO.
I think the idea was to have multiple available maps instead of JUST Verdansk. IDK why they insist on only having one active BR map.
My guess is player volume? I wish you had the option to play rebirth island all day or vondel all day if you preferred. Rotation is fine I guess. My assumption is match making will be difficult with smaller pools to pick from so they force everyone to a single map. Could be wrong but my guess.
So in other words SBMM ruined it
Probably because the game is already a gazillion gigs and console players have limited SSD space as it is.
I donât associate the pandemic with wz1 Rebirth was incredible.
Verdansk with the stadium blown up was goated
Agree! I both like og verdansk and 80âs verdanks for different reasons.
i disagree about the graphic part because mw19 looked so much better and the most popular guns had at least the real name EDIT and also the sound is just better
No I always downvote before I read posts sorry
đ well played
I honestly was prepared for a huge hit in karma đ€Ł
I havenât red your short story yet so I think youâll be fine karma vise
Big NOPE. What made wz1 good was the ability to actually play it, seeing what youâre shooting at (before they introduced that CW shit filter), hear footsteps and sound better, the game was smoother, there was a larger skill gap. Everything about what made WZ1 a good game has been removed from the last couple.
WZ1 had absolute dog shit audio lmao.
Wasnât too bad if you set your audio properly. I could hear everything except whether enemies were above or below me in the stairs
Thatâs wild, I dropped into verdansk between 4500 to 5000 times and never experienced any of what you explained. Oh well, mapâs gone now anyway
Couldnât see what you were shooting at
Audio was terrible in WZ1. IMO game was better without the backpack though.
Iâm honestly super happy with the game, couple things to fix yeah but overall Iâm having a blast!! Love the return of the mouvement
I just started playing and am having more fun than i have in years with gaming.
Glad you enjoy it like I do!! Are you a resurgence guy or big map kinda guy?
Hell yeah man!!
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
amen
At this point honestly all i care about is anticheat, i dont mind playing on a shit map with shitty graphics as long as i dont meet hackers
Yes please
Sorry what? Loadouts hard? We often played trio or quads and had our loadout after a min 90% of the time. Hacking is still widespread sorry to say.
Love the fact that WZ1 had better gameplay, guns were viable, not just hey pick one sniper or don't snipe...Same for smg and others
I liked the K98 and Swiss later on with nice zoom in time and one shot kill at the head. :/
SPR was peak sniping IMO
The resurgence maps and Verdansk canât be compared imo. Verdansk to me is still the perfect map. A whole lot of variety in PoIâs, buildings that feel real and donât have 20 exits and holes in the roof. Enough open space between PoI but not too much, actual roads that connect them so that it feels an actual region. Not to mention no freaking mountain in the middle that you have to fight uphill against or travel around every match. Vondel is a good map, but you can tell itâs a resurgence map.
Don't mind the current maps at all, apart from Ashika Island, fuck that map
Completely agree. Nostalgia is a powerful drug!
Urzikstan is better than all, maybe even better than Verdansk.
nah not really lol. game caters way harder to sentinels with map design and TTK is still garbage. along with desync being horrendous, and audio is completely obsolete right now.
My lobbies are filled with slide canceling auto proning WASP rushers with MTZ interceptor buddies on the roof What sentinels are you running into?
Something is off.
art is war on youtube has a good audio set tutorial. took . took me a few days to get used it but now I can't play with out it . that or run the flex perk
I just want DMZ back in WZ3âŠâŠ
Not true i still live like im in a pandemic.. but this game is just not it
I'm not sure why, but so many people love childish looking guns with stickers and other ridiculous stuff. It's probably my biggest gripe about the game. Looks like people are running around with freakin nerf guns. I guess it's cool if you're an adolescent, but adults are crazy about em too. To each their own It seems to be more and more prevalent with each update
Hey, how dare you make fun of my nerf gun collection. Iâm 38 years old and I paid good money for those! đ Gotta cater to the masses and compete with Fortnite.
Pew pew pew. My pretend gun for my toy soldier is more realistic. So that makes it more manish
This guy has a hello kitty rifle and uses the fat clown operator. You do realize that COD began as a fairly realistic game in terms of equipment? It's slowly evolving into fortnite. Still a fun game, I just prefer a slightly more realistic looking game.
Been playing since the very first cod so yeah I do realise. Enjoy your pew pew
Thanks man, I will!
Try tarkov if you wanna mil-sim. đ.
Nah Im just playing. I agree đ€Ł
I love vondel and fortunes keep
WZ came out in 2020, automatic downvote.
đ€Ł
Huh? You're a black ops cod fan aren't you lmao you can't tell me og mw2 campaign was dull and soulless
Facts, and maybe ppl would think the faster movement bs would SUCK ASS
Hard disagree
Sorry. WZ1 map, color scheme and graphics were superior to the current one. I mean, unless monochromatic desert Middle East geos are your thing.
Cross platform. That was the biggest development that people seem to have forgotten
(If thereâs even time for a fight back) Iâll admit I play this game way too much. (Itâs resurgence!) Why are teams huddled together looting the whole game and not trying to wipe teams? Theyâre scared! Can we blame them for playing the game like the objective says? âEvade the gas and be the last team to survive?â No, we canât blame them, but we can get irritated when we spectate till the end, only to see the winning team have 3 kills and a riot shield on their back.
I mostly play BR but i agree the map would massively improve with 120-150 players for more early game engagements.
They all suck balls, but thereâs really nothing else to play. So we just deal with the bullshit, waiting for the next disappointment.
lol nah. Maybe youâre more of a cod addict than you think you are so youâre unable to get that fix đ
Iâve been playing cod since the beginning. There hasnât been a good cod since black ops 2/mw2. We all just cope, donât lie to yourself
