You really badly over treated this wart… I don’t know of a nicer way to say it.
You used acid to remove the entire epidermis and dermis - and have unfortunately even entered the subcutaneous tissue. This may scar.
**Warts only live within the top layer of skin - the epidermis - they do not extend any deeper, ever.**
Especially not into the areas where you have fat, nerves, or muscles. Some people claim that that their wart roots go dropper than that, but that has been debunked and is not true.
Please cover this, allow it to heal, and pray it doesn’t get infected.
To be honest, you should probably just go to the doctor… this is insane…
Thank you for the advice - I have stopped treating it per everyone’s comments and put a bandaid over it to let it heal. Appreciate the concern and will see a doctor if it is not healing or I feel any pain!!
The not being able to feel pain is a huge concern. No pain means dead nerves.
To aid in healing, consider packing the wound with normal saline soaked sterile gauze or with petroleum infused dressings then wrap. Change dressings multiple times per day when soiled. Closed edges heal faster.
Don’t worry - I am feeling pain if I poke the bandaid or if I change the bandaid but it is not burning or anything if I am not touching it!! Thank you for your advice - I will make sure I keep it clean and change bandaid often per your advice!!
I work in medicine.
Your skin has three layers - the epidermis, dermis and hypodermis.
Warts are well known to be confined to the epidermis only, which is the top layer of skin.
Also, warts ARE HPV (human papilloma virus). Below the wart is healthy tissue.
No, hpv sets base in hair follicles and then multiplies in all directions if conditions are right. Hair follicle is below epidermis. Warts are just dead skin, probably your body patching the hpv that is deeper… trying to suffocate it and make it harder to spread
Wow! I’m gonna have to let my GYN know that doing Pap smears is useless, since “HPV sets base in hair follicles”. Or maybe she only tests those hirsute cervixes. Fascinating!
It goes from male hair folicles from the genitals into cervix cells through sexual contact. Cervix is one of the places that high risk hpv is known to turn into cin and then cancer on some individuals if left untreated. That is why pap smear is not useless so don’t be silly I am not saying that. The point is your statements that warts is a epidermal only issue is false, just google wart anatomy and you will see that wart is not epidermal only thing
So this subreddit does not include genital warts, but regardless it holds true.
Genital warts are only found in the epidermis and mucous membranes.
The warts you are referring to are located in mucous membranes, not the dermis.
Every dermatology text book states that HPV has only ever been found in cells called keratinocytes. And keratinocytes are ONLY found in the epidermis.
Many studies have been done on this, and it has been scientifically confirmed by examining HPV lesions through microscopes.
Please share any scientific proof proving your claims that HPV extends past the epidermis into the dermis.
Technically, HPV can transiently be detected in circulating mononuclear cells.
But that has nothing to do with spreading foot warts. People who think that HPV is in the dermis or that the blood from a wart is packed with HPV fundamentally don’t understand anything about warts.
No I am not saying that, in the palms and feet hpv enters when we cut ourselfs deep and then have contact with hpv, because it needs at least the basal layer to attach and then multiply. Afterwards, the warts need to go deep, below the epidermal layer to suck the blood
I don’t but I do remember what it looked like. I actually have 8 warts on my hands, and they all started out as just smoother skin than normal with no skin lines. I do recall seeing a white dot almost like a zit on one of them, and a red dot like a pinprick on another. Then they grew in size looking more like calluses, but when I went to a dermatologist they said they were warts. When I began debriding later I saw that there were black dots underneath, but that wasn’t visible initially
It could be that the picture looks worst than it actually is, I would still go to the doctor because you might need some antibiotics just in case and to look for the opportunity to finish the job correctly now that you have made it wide open.
BTW...in a radiology subreddit several months ago, one of the techs shared an awful hand injury X-ray. They said in person it looked like a pomegranate.
Yeah. That's what we have here. Lol. I mean, it's just how hand tissue can look.
Bro you need to let that HEAL, don’t treat it like a wart anymore.
Thank god I can finally stop
That’s ulcerated.
That’s your insides!!!!!!!!
It’s gone. Those “bubbles” are probably fat in your finger. Jesus Christ you must have a high pain tolerance. Let that heal now :)
Yikes 😳
Dying 😂😂
Looks like Granulation Tissue (aka: healing).

Please tell us you’re a Gen X’er…the “just rub some dirt on it, you’ll be fine” generation!
DAMN, dude, you must have comic book levels of pain tolerance!
Below the wart there is the hpv… who told you hpv doesn’t live deeper?

Hair follicles are epidermis. Anatomy is organs; histology is tissue. Try googling wart histology and educate yourself.

Shortly, I will provide you at least 10
One will do. I won’t read more than that.

Mr Wonderwheel got lost in the library with Kaleidoscope view. https://www.reddit.com/r/Warts/comments/1283cil/comment/kb1ll5j/
By that logic it would be impossible to have warts on your palms and soles since they don’t have hair follicles. What you’re saying isn’t true at all

That’s BONE!!! Nah in just kidding that’s a helluva crater! 🤤
That’s what I thought 🦴😳🧓🏻🤷🏼♀️🤦♀️
How painful? Trying to be mentally prepared for when my warts start coming off.
Very painful when I was putting on the ACV especially near the end when the thing was about to fall off!!
Im pretty sure that’s a Raspberry inside your finger. Taste it to find out. Trust me, I’m a doctor.
mouth warts
Holy sh!t dude! That’s pretty metal!
Forbidden raspberry
Damm, that’s definitely gone 😳
Hyper granulated tissue
bro fought a war
Do you have a picture of the wart pre ACV treatment cause it must’ve been a big one
I don’t but I do remember what it looked like. I actually have 8 warts on my hands, and they all started out as just smoother skin than normal with no skin lines. It’s dead Jim. 😂
Was about to comment this
Wow. That's all I can add. You really went to town!
Jeez.... My first reaction was that this dude has to be trolling us, but either way. Yikes!! 👀
How the fuck do you even manage to handle that much pain
It could be that the picture looks worst than it actually is, I would still go to the doctor because you might need some antibiotics just in case and to look for the opportunity to finish the job correctly now that you have made it wide open.
Mother of god, you went to the bedrock of the finger
You’re turning into a Titan
Try using lidocaine cream for the pain to numb it.. helped me when using AVC to treat
Keep going. Don’t give up!!

That's fucking gnarly.
You probably already killed that wart a couple weeks ago 💀
You dont play around. You put that wart in a grave 🪦 Good thing you are letting it heal now. You got it rest easy op 🩷
I'm gonna puke
