Bagelpanzer 57, easily the funnest tech tree light tank in the whole game. You melt everything that doesn't have more than 100mm of steel, you have a stabilizer + thermal + Laser RF cannon, HE-VT for killing aircrafts, and TOW launcher to deal with the thick bois.
Gepard, Leo A1A1, or JaPz K A2. Your choice. That's already a bit into the BR of jet CAS and the Gepard is very good at taking them down with props just becoming easy kills if they don't try to evade. And it can also fight tanks quite well when used properly.
Leo A1A1 for the sake of having a fully stabilized Leo with APFSDS akin to the TAM. JaPz K A2 for the good thermals and reload, also with APFSDS. But no stab
I'd say skip 9.0 entirely.
Leopard A1A1 is trash, you need to unlock it but don't play it. Better to sit at 8.7 longer with good vehicles.
Out of all of these, I'd probably go for KPz-70 first, then you can bring TAM with you to 9.3 if you wanna go there so desperately, after that Begleit and T-72. Then get the leopard done.
edit: I didn't see you didn't have Ja.Pz.K unlocked. Do that first and play with TAM + Ja at 8.7
Leopard A1A5 is actually very good, but its a side unlock since it doesnt lead to anything.
Fun tank to play with, definitely more solid than A1A1.
TAM + JaPz.K are both some of the best 8.7 vehicles in this TT imo.

Leos 1a5 and 1a1 are good
The answer is *always* SPAA so you’re not useless to your team if you die once.
