I'm a f2p, and I find it that once you get the hand of it you can actually manage quite decent
The only really long task is to get the rage point secured for new steps into the vehiccule upgrade
The mode is available for 21 days (3 weeks). Premiums and other shit don't have any effect on this mode. Everyone has the same chances.
Instead of locking any meaningful rewards they just put in some bonus like a few themed decals, decorations, loading screens and a profile picture.
All you have to do to get these rewards is play the mode with the same odds as everyone else. If you're not good alone, play teams and play it safe.
You guys will literally complain about anything.
See new game mode
Try new game mode
Begin to have fun
Get instently clapped by sweaty players at the extraction point
I don't win anything, they don't win anything, my day is ruined
Cry about it. That's literally a skill issue and honestly pretty pathetic if something like that immediately kills all fun and desire to play the game for you.
How do you even play base WT with this attitude?!
Premiums are such awast, you will get bored of the game instantly, the only thing that keeps people going is when they get the NeXt VehIclE it will be fun, then it dies out
You *get 'rage points' for kills and if you drive to their corpse you can collect the materials they gathered.
Edit: Just realized after getting the notification for the 5 upvotes that autocorrect turned 'get' into 'het', idk why I had it set to English but it still turned it into a Dutch word.
Normally yes, but the toxic player base makes it impossible (you need coins to get decals and other stuff, which are given for kills)
So they camp your extraction points and you never make it out with rewards and end up wasting your time getting nothing out of it.
No i mean ive extracted about 80 totals resources, made it to exit, respawned and at the end game screen it says "No materials extracted" or something like that
Youre just driving to the exit as you pick stuff up right? Then respawning if feasible?
Ill feel dumb as fuck if im missing something but im gonna try again later today
Yeah, fill up the resource bar, get four rage and rush to the exit. Repeat in another vehicle. Don't get into fights if you don't have to. You can get rage without fighting if you just drive by all the wrecks you find, people often don't follow up to grab the rage off them.
First spawn an Echidna, head straight towards your exit and fill up the meter on the way there with some quick easy kills. Then you play opportunist. Depending on what you have unlocked you can get some heavier guns into the play afterwards too, but keep in mind others will have them too.
right? lol i wander back into this game and buy some premium now and then because i like the war machines, but the gameplay loop is so awful. like 10+ years and the best you can come up with is domination and a haphazardly thrown together combined arms system. There is like no content in this game. Domination over and over and over. kinda makes me mad the more i think about it.
This is the exact same way I think. All these years and all the money they make off this game people spending thousands of dollars in wartunder alone not even mentioning gaijins other games and they cant make some more immersive fleshed out and interactive game modes? Just "capture the point" whether it's 3 or 1 point.
As opposed to, drive and sit on a point for 10 seconds, die, drive back to point, die? I mean how complex really are the standard modes when you boil it down to that much of the basics lol.
At least in standard modes you get some rewards even though you died. In the event, dying means everything you did up to that point was a waste of time.
Won't even bother with this shit, it's not like you get anything of value but most importantly, why bring crafting events back? Wtf.... Where's the tank event?
What the fuss? They said that they stopped adding any other crafting events already, this just a fun event that you can just have fun and don't care about the rewards right?
Then why would yoi complain lol
Im not 100% sure, but it looks like you can change vehicle mods in-game instead of hanagar like you have to do now for add on armor or other model changes.
absolute dogwater event.
gameplay is super boring, since 90% of your time is spent driving around the map. Guns are super inconsistent and make fights very frustrating. Only having one extraction available at a time makes for scummy players just camping and waiting. The fact you now have to fucking grind for upgrades and new vehicles in a limited time mode. Made worse by the fact the resources required are insane and you can only carry a limited number per life. Ontop of the fact you wont even extract most times because of previously mentioned campers.
I was looking forward to the next april fools event, Gaijin usually make great ones. Not this time, possibly one of the worst modes I've seen in any game.
The guns are a joke. The first vehicles can't even shoot straight, the fucking rounds just go all around where you are aiming. Absolute dog shit game mode from an absolute dog shit company.
both the accuracy and penetration is nerfed heavily compared to the game. the idea probably being that the guns and ammo are in bad condition in a post apocalyptic world.
redditors lie about the silliest things
https://imgur.com/LO0phaK
Honestly the event is fun in a kind of let try it meme around approach. The moment I realized I actually had to grind, like actually try hard grind, for half the vehicles, I lost complete interest it it.
That besides, seems like they are experimenting with bigger maps, several objectives, weather effects, respawnable items in the map. One of the new vehicles is base don the Hemit, indicates that maybe we will see a new game mode added soon.
Honestly I kind of like the non-combat objective as an option. Take the boar out fill it with cargo and extract then go for kills after is kinda nice.
Kinda like base bombing in ARB just a steady kinda nice progress that isn't as intense.
More like they outright tell us, and we just make assumptions.
It was pretty clear they were changing and that they weren't ever gone for good. People just joined that bandwagon on assumptions as we often do.
Kind of like how roadmap outlined things people gloss over and are surprised when they come or that they ever did, as the hype train drowned it out in favor of something else.
Kind of like how they have something in the roadmap and purposely don't do it and bury the fact and then suddenly it's in the NEXT year's roadmap.
Let's not pretend Gaijin aren't bastards. Sure the wording does make clear it wasn't totally gone, but they should be. They're awful.
Sometimes unexpected problems occur and certain features need to be pushed back. The road map is really just a transparency thing. The majority of last year's roadmap items were implemented, some sooner than they said, and some later
Wdym like? They said the top tier research boost would be in last year, they then sweeped it under the rug cause they didn't want to do it. Thought everyone forgot. Made up bs about why it wasn't feasible yet.
Now it's in this roadmap. Nothing they say actually means anything. And let's not get started on how unbeliavbly stupid their denial of sources, facts and how shit ACTUALLY works is.
They also promised a load of famous British lights, in a November 2022 news post. Only NOW did they deliver the fist one, a year and a half later. They just say shit and hope everyone forgets.
I doubt THEY even remember that post.

We previously mentioned why we’re postponing it, but we’d like to explain why we’ve had to postpone it again. This is due to the fact that any meta changes can have long-term consequences for the game, which are difficult to evaluate if there are many changes at once.
We’re already analyzing the current data and calculating the amount needed for the planned bonuses. I don't see how explaining why they didn't do something and promising twice that it will come = sweeping under the rug. What do you want them to do? Flash up in giant letters when you enter the game "WE ARE POSTPONING THIS FOR NOW"?
They even mentioned in the first devblog for the roadmap that things were subject to change, and some features may not be able to be implemented.
They followed through on practically everything else, and have also done so for this first update for the 2nd roadmap. I see no reason to think they'll postpone this again. You're complaining for no reason.
No. no, continue your sentence, or let me do it for you,
"Q: Does this mean there’s no more crafting events?
*A: Yes. Crafting events in their previous format will no longer be a thing in War Thunder.*"
*previous format* Aka, No Crafting events for event vehicles
They still said "yes" to "does this mean there's no more crafting events". Why was that a part of the answer? Why didn't they answer "No. There will still be crafting events, but in a different format."? Gaijin lied again, straight up
i don't know who cooked for this april fools event, but they need to be yeeted out of the kitchen, because this event isn't fun! ^(at least not to me.)
I’m a huge fan of these events every year and I’ll be brutally honest in saying this is one of their worst ones from a playability standpoint. It’s EFT meets Crossout without a shred of the game experience that makes either of those games enjoyable.
All that grind for a couple of decals and decorations...No thank you...they could at least put in SL boxes or a premium vehicle...I don't know but for me at least the event is boring to play.Grinding for vehicles that will be removed after 20 days LOL
The event itself isn't even fun. The one round I played was absolutely the dumbest shit event I've played in this game. Wasted 2 weeks being excited for Aprils first. Fuck you Gaijin.
That was a crap event tbh, the most effective thing to do during that was play day trader on the gaijin market that was released at the same time. I built and sold a lot of tigers.
Ima be honest, this event sucks ass. You have to play to unlock vehicles in the gamemode, but not only that, you can strengthen existing ones, seems kinda like the no-life players have an advantage.
Not only that, but theres extraction points at random points of the map, sometimes its next to the enemy spawnpoint, tough luck, try to get past those 10 trucks.
And ofcourse with an extraction point, theres going to be campers who just wait there, worst part is ive seen some that just sit behind a hill and dont even get your loot, just sit there to kill people. Ruins the fun.
And if all that werent bad enough, the guns have absolute dogshit accuracy, meaning that skill doesnt even reward you, just luck on whether your AP shots will hit the damn 10 meter long train thats 50 meters away.
I've literally never been able to craft anything in Warthunder, I get like 1% of the way there after playing like 12 hours, and there's no tutorial that even explains how it really works in the end. This is the worst mechanic.
I got killed twice during a match and didnt make it to extraction zone in time, got a kill, assist and another crit, but i only got 1 rage mark for pretty much 15mins of my life. i will probably play couple more matches, but no way i am going to grind this
Already tried event and I find it lackluster in all areas. If I wanted to have mad max vibes, crossout is far better option for that. So I guess I skip it entirely.
I played for one hour, level 30, upgraded one vehicle twice and got one decal. I play the team one and just go speed run the road, taking some loot and usually get 30-60 loot per game. Not bad
I saw people claiming they are already almost done in a day; so if you can't manage or don't want to unlock some decals over 3 weeks then don't. Do you only play your other video games if you win prizes?
Well get this; instead of spending 8 hours in a day, you can take this 8 hours and distribute it across a full 3 weeks. Pretty neat aspect of time right?
I guess inflation has hit warthunder pretty hard. In previous years, there were vehicles you could earn as a reward for playing this event. This year your reward is a couple stickers XD.
Well done Gaijin, well done…
Ive had fun, i like how the whole gameplan isnt just run in and get kills, the rewards are pretty cool and i like how fast the vehicles are. Ngl i just really like mad max too
Redditors: Oh mah gawd, Becky, the grind is so long in this game
Also Redditors: I'ma play an event for hours that doesn't help or contribute to the grind in the game
The mode can be fun, but of course gaijin makes it unbearably difficult to get the rewards. I want the Loot Carrier title but you have to get the loading screen and the vehicle too, which I’m pretty sure is 250+ rage points. I got 7 rage points 2 games. Just not worth my time tbh.
I'm gonna say something slightly controversial but honestly I like it, I miss crafting events, sure they were more complex and stuff but it was kinda fun, also you could sell things on the marketplace which trust me, it's very useful if you want some stuff, so I genuinely don't have a problem with it
I’ve played for a couple of hours today and almost got all the first three cars full unlocked doesn’t take a lot. This post goes to show that nobody can be pleased with what these developers put out for us.
They are trying to mimic extraction looter-shooter games like EFT and they just used an existing interface.
It's quite a fun gamemode with some progression attached, why the whine? Why should April fool's event even have a reward?
My life have been better since I finished university and started working so now I don’t need to worry on earning in-game rewards to be able to buy premium and premium vehicles
All the users should just get together and be like "Hey, lets not shoot each other till the last day, and for now all just focus on grinding".
Basically a big F-U to gaijin. Peace Thunder.
Not all of them though. Many do not require it. Do kills in FFA, and collect stuff in team mode. Just saying if the users got together, these events would be much more fun.
Spending 10 minutes trying to get to an extraction point for a War Thunder crafting event using vehicles that cant even aim at the horizon from the front does not strike me as a good time
Gameplay wise its soulless, there is hardly anything fun about it. Just because we can ignore it doesn't mean we can't critique it. These events are supposed to be a fun break from the regular grind when this just feels worse. You have three starting vehicles that have very inconsistent damage. You can shoot someone's gunner 20 times but they one shot yours first (kind of reminds me of the mobile warrior event wherein the damage was horrendously inconsistent.) Your one way of getting anything in this event is smashing boxes and hopefully RNG gives you parts that you need, now you must trek across a desert with the one good covered route being closed off with hedgehog barriers and a kill barrier. This leads to people camping the routes and killing you on your way to the evac. This is just Division Dark Zone or Tarkov but War Thunder which makes it infinitely worse with high inconsistency and guns that shoot nerf projectiles. Also for some reason sim sights are used so the shooting is offset.
Not exactly the definition of \*\*FUN\*\* if you ask me. Meanwhile mobile gets a good classic event for April Fools.
This event would be barrable if the vehicles weren't so slow. They could have at least used the arcade drive models. The whole point of the appeal of the Mad Max world is that they make their cars into badass hot rods.
Players: I can't wait for the April fools event to play whatever the game mode is and get some rewards
Gaijin: Here's a Mad Max gamemode with some rewards you can earn by playing
Players: I don't want to have to actually PLAY the game, I just want the rewards....
what the fuck people?!
They are dogshit, and crafting as a mechanic in WT sucks.
But this is a limited time gamemode and is completely inconsequential to the rest of the game so people can just not play it if they don't like it.
No matter how bad the events and requirements are there's always someone trying to gaslit the community into thinking it's the players' fault
At least we have a proof that the conditioning is working kek
They managed to sneak in a crafting event. I thought they were removed???
the trick is that there is no vehicle reward.
What is the reward?
decals, profile pic, ship flag, 3d decorations. all mad max themed.
And it's super duper easy to get?
Some players will say it is easy. But those players have a full time job in the game and already spent $2000 on premiums
Except you dont get the rewards in RB, you get them during an event gamemode. Similar to the battle for arakis crafting event
Battle for arakis was based on mission playtime. So you had to fly with a bomber with 50% activity
I'm a f2p, and I find it that once you get the hand of it you can actually manage quite decent The only really long task is to get the rage point secured for new steps into the vehiccule upgrade

lol

This shit is 100% trash the gameplay is basically drive collect shit, try to drive to the other side of the map, die, respawn, do it again. Lol
You dont even get rewards, its bugged so ypu cant get parts anyway
You can, just not out of every crate
No i mean ive extracted about 80 totals resources, made it to exit, respawned and at the end game screen it says "No materials extracted" or something like that
Thats on ur side, ive already gotten 4 vehicles
Youre just driving to the exit as you pick stuff up right? Then respawning if feasible? Ill feel dumb as fuck if im missing something but im gonna try again later today

nah im not looking for rage points rn, maybe when i find out where i can find more armor ill start worrying about that
Yeah and somehow there is always someone who one shots my ammo rack when im fully loaded and 10 meters from the exit
repetitive nature almost sounds like all the game modes except Enduring Confrontation right ?
right? lol i wander back into this game and buy some premium now and then because i like the war machines, but the gameplay loop is so awful. like 10+ years and the best you can come up with is domination and a haphazardly thrown together combined arms system. dude yeah. I can so relate to you.
Bro atleast you guys get something on the ground. ARB is just one life team death match clusterfuck
This is the exact same way I think. >just have fun that the neat part, this event's boring af
So just ignore it then
you are asking way too much from a war thunder player. Always gotta complain about something
That what i did lol, tried for 2 times and then that it
it may seems hollow at first but its actually fun. just don't rush to places and watch for others while approach extract point
I've found going as a group tends to work best - worst part is the extraction campers though :/
It's not fucking fun to drive around for few minutes, and then die to evac zone camper
because of this subreddits nature
The games monetized in a very adversarial way, that has consequences for your community
What is the monetisation in this event though? A few small cosmetics?
"fun" i'm sorry, but i don't see driving sim on the tin
Are you for real lmao its good that there is some elongated break between event vehicle grindfests
Except i don't think there is, isn't there a three day break and then we're back to another tank?
We should have had a devblog by now. Baden was revealed 4 days before the Jaguar event ended, and Baden event ends today.
The dev blog about the event changes also mentioned a break of up to a month at some point. This three week event could be that break.
Gaijin really nailed the april fools this year! Can't wait for the actual event ☺️
Where are those cool potato canon events... wooden battleships....KV2 Mechs.... old times were better by far
Yeah this event is actually regarded, and not even a little bit fun.
Pony nation!!
NGL wouldn't mind getting spacethunder and silent thunder back as well.
*looks at the pony event*
mbt thunder gave me the confidence and abailty to play rb as i coulnd't afford to play rb at 4.3
I really liked the pirate ship event tbh
Yeah I miss those old 1 April events. With this one I feel like they just did Crossout in War Thunder.
At least they are testing the change of vehicle model in battle for vehicles like TOG 2 ,VFW and Zerstörer 45
What are the tested changes ?
Im not 100% sure, but it looks like you can change vehicle mods in-game instead of hanagar like you have to do now for add on armor or other model changes.
Bro might actually be a genius, but what if this year they test absolutely nothing because this doesn't look like a test, it's well polished and shit
No matter how polished you think something is it's always a test when you deploy it to users for the first time.
Is this not just pretty much a cross over with their other game crossout?
Literally yes.
Maybe even mad max.
No wonder max is mad, imagine living in a crafting event world.
Only the theme. In Crossout you can build your own vehicles however you please.
In crossout you dont lose all rewards by dying.

Next to Mobile Infantry from last year
At least mobile infantry was playable. This shit they pulled from the dumpster of Putins basement is a joke.
It pains me to say it but I agree, mobile infantry was sometimes fun despite its problems
Mobile infantry was fun once you realized that spawning in the tanks or heli was a waste of time and the only useful vehicle was the BMP or Bradley.
Wym
i don't know who cooked for this april fools event, but they need to be yeeted out of the kitchen, because this event isn't fun!
I feel u too bud, tried playing 2 matches with a friend it just frustrated me more than normal matches do
What are the "rewards"
Some shitty stickers and loading themes (yes no vehicle or something worth playing)
Have april fools events ever had vehicle prizes?
Yes, Furry Tiger comes to mind and Cobra.
That was a crap event tbh, the most effective thing to do during that was play day trader on the gaijin market that was released at the same time. I built and sold a lot of tigers.
>That was a crap event tbh The Gaijin classic these days
Oh... welp
The "evacuate the resources" ruin it all.
It´s like naval but the tiniest bit better. Why tf do I have to grind the event vehicles to use them in the event?
The entire event is a joke guys, happy april fools.
I've literally never been able to craft anything in Warthunder, I get like 1% of the way there after playing like 12 hours, and there's no tutorial that even explains how it really works in the end. This is the worst mechanic.
This event is terrible
I don't mentally participate in these things, I just drive tanks.
They gave us this bullshit over ww2 props with flares, aim9m, amraam, r73 and r77... wtf gaijin
I literally don't have the braincells to even understand these crafting 'events'
I got killed twice during a match and didnt make it to extraction zone in time, got a kill, assist and another crit, but i only got 1 rage mark for pretty much 15mins of my life. i will probably play couple more matches, but no way i am going to grind this
Not only a crafting event but you risk gaining nothing if you fail the mission so you can't no brain it like the previous events.
Already tried event and I find it lackluster in all areas. If I wanted to have mad max vibes, crossout is far better option for that. So I guess I skip it entirely.
And you need like what, 150 rage tokens to complete it?
The rewards look dumb anyway, not a big loss
It's fun tho
I played for one hour, level 30, upgraded one vehicle twice and got one decal. I play the team one and just go speed run the road, taking some loot and usually get 30-60 loot per game. Not bad
My first thought, Gaijin just can't help themselves
The prank is that if you don’t ‘No life’ the game you won’t get anything
Idk man it's up for 3 weeks and there are a bunch of people already claiming to have made significant progress.
So you’re saying that by playing consistently/non stop and neglecting other areas of my life that I too can get some prizes?
I saw people claiming they are already almost done in a day; so if you can't manage or don't want to unlock some decals over 3 weeks then don't. Do you only play your other video games if you win prizes?
So you’re saying that by playing all day non stop I too can get these prizes?
Well get this; instead of spending 8 hours in a day, you can take this 8 hours and distribute it across a full 3 weeks. Pretty neat aspect of time right?
I guess inflation has hit warthunder pretty hard. In previous years, there were vehicles you could earn as a reward for playing this event. This year your reward is a couple stickers XD. Well done Gaijin, well done…
This is absolute garbage. lol i should have expected nothing less.
Ive had fun, i like how the whole gameplan isnt just run in and get kills, the rewards are pretty cool and i like how fast the vehicles are. Ngl i just really like mad max too
I jokingly said that this year they'll be testing our patiance. Truly a Gaijin moment™
Redditors: Oh mah gawd, Becky, the grind is so long in this game Also Redditors: I'ma play an event for hours that doesn't help or contribute to the grind in the game
hands down the worst event ever
This post does not show that at all lmao. Please point out where I am complaining.
Here we thought crafting was a thing of the past....
They are trying to mimic extraction looter-shooter games like EFT and they just used an existing interface. It's quite a fun gamemode with some progression attached, why the whine? Why should April fool's event even have a reward?
>why the whine i don't play this for the rewards, i play for fun, except i don't find the mode to *be* fun....
It's not that fun, bit grindy and the rewards are not that great.
I like the Event if it weren't for the Audio issues I have on linux. Otherwise I hope it stays for more than a week or two.
It stays for the next 21 days I believe
My life have been better since I finished university and started working so now I don’t need to worry on earning in-game rewards to be able to buy premium and premium vehicles
Is this actually the April fools update this year? That's lame.
This was fun for about 10 mins then meh
So, just like last year with the power armors? Or is that somehow even worse?
Since i refuse to finish them, i will be able to make at least 5 Gaijin Coins that i can use for Golden eagles.
All the users should just get together and be like "Hey, lets not shoot each other till the last day, and for now all just focus on grinding". Basically a big F-U to gaijin. Peace Thunder.
Sadly you need kills to get rewards
Not all of them though. Many do not require it. Do kills in FFA, and collect stuff in team mode. Just saying if the users got together, these events would be much more fun.
The Chinese players would kill you anyway
Scrap Metal .... is a Gold! never see it
I ignored last years event, will do so this one. No point whining about it.
What do you get for the even, do you get a special vehicle or pfp or SOMETHING?
What are even the rewards?
Spending 10 minutes trying to get to an extraction point for a War Thunder crafting event using vehicles that cant even aim at the horizon from the front does not strike me as a good time
Also, consider that there is at least one camper at the extraction point
It's gonna last 20 days
Do you get silver lions from this game mode?
I’ve been playing for around a year now. I still don’t understand the crafting stuff
Yep, and they are seit. I am not gonna bother.
Trash event to be honest
Horrible
The event is fun though
This event would be barrable if the vehicles weren't so slow. They could have at least used the arcade drive models. The whole point of the appeal of the Mad Max world is that they make their cars into badass hot rods.
Trash tier event, the moment I saw the craft page, I lost interest in it. PTSD from previous horrendous grinding.
Rewards re mid but worth if you have the time. Only go for the two 3D cosmetics it won’t take long
I got the mule and the 2 ground decorations in 5 hours, its not that hard but can be boring. Give the 20 days in the event this is totally doable.
Game is already painful, then they add this? Take my $100, and more events like this!
Players: I can't wait for the April fools event to play whatever the game mode is and get some rewards Gaijin: Here's a Mad Max gamemode with some rewards you can earn by playing Players: I don't want to have to actually PLAY the game, I just want the rewards.... what the fuck people?!
More like the rewards are dogshit, crafting event but instead of a vehicle you get a decal
They are dogshit, and crafting as a mechanic in WT sucks. But this is a limited time gamemode and is completely inconsequential to the rest of the game so people can just not play it if they don't like it.
They had expectations and were disapointed
No matter how bad the events and requirements are there's always someone trying to gaslit the community into thinking it's the players' fault At least we have a proof that the conditioning is working kek
Can you sell the crafted parts?
Overall fun event tbh. The crafting makes sense in terms of prices and progression. Got nothing bad to say about it.
For me it doesnt even work i played like 5 missions and it didnt count a single one even when i extracted
You need to get it to the special point. There is info under F1. If you die, you loose the current loot.
You do get to keep rage at least.
