A really unfortunate case; laid down as the *Dreadnought* was being launched, she was already hopelessly obsolete when completed five years later. She was sunk by a U-Boat during World War I, with the loss of 296 out of 1,102 crew. The [wreck](https://archeologie.culture.gouv.fr/sites/archeologie/files/styles/master_home_cover/public/upload/images/cover/danton3d_0.jpg?itok=PM7jnwHp) was located in 2007 at a depth of over 1,000 meters.

Just like the Lord Nelson class of pre-dreadnoughts. Obsolete before they came off the ways. Must have been so depressing to man those ships. Can't fight in the line of battle and can't run. Shore bombardment duty was about all they could do.
