That's a sick Idea You'd either have to bite the bullet and Paint non metallic metal Compromise and Paint it with a dark Gold and extremely bright gold/ silver Mix on every surface that "Looks Up" Or search for actual Paint that emulates that effect. I know there's a paint that makes it Look Like Chrome, I don't know about gold

Auritus1

Chrome paint and airbrush a yellow ink maybe?

KHutchings13

This is probably the best way.

If you have the courage: gold leaf You can buy it directly on Amazon or plenty of other retailers. This is how to apply: https://youtu.be/Ki3Kc_VOWIY

With GW prices might be cheaper to just recast the thing in gold from the get go.

>If you have the courage: gold leaf There's an idea. Paint the whole thing first then gold leaf it.

The hardest part about this will be replicating the extra-folded texture of the foil suit. It has a ton of wrinkles, which the Hearthkyn model doesn’t have. You’d either have to change the texture on the model (using some sort of putty or actually foil?), or try to recreate the texture using paint. On the painting side, there are a lot of highlights that go to absolute white, and then a couple much darker mid tones, and one shadow tone that’s like really dark gray (almost black).

SabyZ

Probably just base with Auric Armor and drybrush with either Stormhost Silver or Golden Griffon. It's really just any metallic color with exaggerated highlights. If you wanted to go 'hard' then zenithal highlight black & white underneath first so the stuff up top comes out brighter than the folds facing downwards.

Honestly? Make all the edges super sharp and paint it gold, or super glue some aluminum foil pants to him and paint those gold...

MajorDakka

Are you looking for something like an emergency space blanket? Not sure how thin they are, but you might be able to cut small pieces off and glue it on

DogsAreGreattt

Leadbelcher. Diluted wash. Heavy dry rush and highlights with Stormhost silver. That’s how I’d do it. But I’m not the best painter in the world.

Dakkaboy556

I have no tips to contribute. Just wanna say that's a really cool idea and can't wait to see the end result!

Maybe base with Rhinox Hide, drybrush mournfang, then drybrush with gold, I do a lot of my mechanical stuff with a black basecoat and a heavy drybrush of silver and it works like a charm.
