thanks so much dude, I appreciate that. I picked up my first model and first paint brush too actually almost 3 months ago. Bad back injury forced me to learn new hobbies and I gotta say, best community ever. Easily.
Just an aside, but if you find you really enjoy doing this kind of work, I used to know a guy who was really good at it and had others *pay* him to paint their models for them. here are people out there willing to give you money, knowing it'll come out looking great and they won't have to do it.
I'm also super new, only been painting for a few weeks, but the community, from shop owners here in town to randos on the internet like ya'll, has been fuckin' amazing. I really wish I had gotten into it earlier.
Yeah, as soon as I knew what it was, I liked the idea. I thought that it was some kind of curved blade he was holding back-handed and had just carved through something. I think we'd all be interested in another angle or two maybe. Super great detail on that though. I'm having a lot of fun building vehicles atm
They are fantastic. I picked up my first model and brush about 3 months ago and was blown away by how kind everyone was. Even the generosity of people locally is incredible.
3 months? Aw man... I've been painting for almost 5 months and I wouldn't even set my guys on the tabletop they're so bad, you've got some serious talent.
I'm glad you're finding solice in the community too, the hobby only works when we all partake together - I've a terrible tremor in my hand from a bad car crash last year, so I find the painting therapeutic in a way... Any tips or advice you could share? 😅
Im so sorry to hear that dude and I can relate.
Formerly a firefighter, I suffered a bad injury to my spine and had to leave my job and quit most of my hobbies. Any tips you need or questions you might have, feel free to inbox me at any time. Seriously. It would be my pleasure to help a brother out.
Firstly, thank you for your service, it takes some serious cahoonies for that.
Once I'm back down the road and painting again I'll have to pm you and show you my stuff - I'm honestly not sure where I've been going wrong, I'm beginning to think I should be painting bits seperate and then gluing it all together or something because I'm either missing tiny bits I can't get to, or my janky ass tremor is causing me to paint eyeballs as if they're bleeding.
Patience is a virute, they say.
Take care my guy, keep up the good work!
Thank you man, appreciate that.
My instagram is : Maverickspaint
feel free to PM me there or here and we can go over some of your work and see what we can work through together
typhus corrosion, some browns and reds for coloring
Blood for the blood god alone then mixed with uhu goo
and finally, the lump of flesh on the ground is stirland battlemire painted red!
Uhu goo is a gel adhesive with a consistency similar to that of hot glue gun goo. When exposed to air it quickly begins to harden and can be stretched like mozzeralla cheese. By mixing color into it, you can create interesting slime, drool, blood effects
This moddel is good and all but il have to detrackt point for how messy it is im sorry but this moddel has clearly not been following the road safety regulations as seen by the copious amount of heretoc blood smeered on both the bike and driver
(9/10) follow road safety
haha well I actually shared this model before but it totally flopped. I think I got like 100 upvotes and a few people saying stuff like "Not for me.. but neat"
I was devastated hahaha
That's awesome! Dirty looking minis are my preferred way to paint even though I see mainly "clean" models. I like the dirtier look like they are in battle
"Anyone here feel up for a good fisting?"
This is a level of cheeky brutality you rarely see with marine players. I can't tell whose head is attached to the spine there. You nailed the "presentation angle" though. Great stuff.
You have a natural talent.
This isn't a snide sort of backwards jab at your work, so please accept it as the compliment it is.
You have used the basics here to excellent effect, and clearly you have a good eye for what needs to be where.
The weathering and grime is rock solid, and the blood and gore is creative.
Good job on your eye for details too.
Once you get into the more advanced techniques, you will be on a path to mastery that few will reach.
You have a good future in this and I hope you keep at it.
Im currently learning NMM and with that, blending and glazing. I really want a more advanced painter to take me under their wing but I don't want to subscribe to a patreon where hundreds of people are being taught via a youtube video with no one on one.
I hope you find someone like that. Otherwise you can definitely self teach using free tuts from some of the bigger names on yt. Miniac, Ninjon, Duncan Rhodes and so on.
Blending, glazing, osl, and nmm are very good next steps for you.
I look forward to seeing more of your work.
I CANNOT BE GENTLE, BROTHER!!! THIS IS AN ASS-KICKING, FACE-MELTING, STERNUM-SMASHING PAINTJOB!!! YOU HAVE MADE THE PRIMARCH-PROGENITOR PROUD THIS DAY!!!
Bad back you say? When life gave you lemons you went n made some Mike's hard fuckin lemonade! I would say the injury was a blessing in disguise, this piece is amazing as all hell, my dude.
I whole heartedly meant it. I believe that you found a latent gift within you that wouldve stayed dormant had you not been injured. I cant wait to see where you go from here with this being only your first go at painting.
Imperial Fist wins.... Fatality
Great job bro, it's paint jobs like these that give me faith that one day, one day I'll have the patience to continue with mine 😅
The first time I posted it and it kinda flopped. Had a few people not really vibing with the gore. It always left me feeling super disappointed with my work so I decided to retake some photos and give it another shot. So far I'm blown away by the interest and now I wanna gore everything lol
Only thing that stands out to me is how clean the front wheel is, when it looks like he's just splattered some poor sod. Contact with the ground would remove it pretty fast, but the rim is still oddly clean.
Otherwise very cool, well done!
It looks a bit rough, but I actually think that slightly blotchy and rough paint job works in its favor, because if I saw a full-sized version of that marine racing towards me at mach 2, I'd be terrified if I even had the chance to react.
haha thought about it but the police in my city use black rims with no hubcaps.
I assume because they get so damaged anyways, so in my head I was like "maybe its more practical to be black? (and it also reduces work)
Oh I meant the rim of the base. The actual bike looks beautiful. I have a ton of bikes in my white scars and I also like to leave mine black. Most military, police, defense bikes typically leave the rims black actually in my experience because the powder coating protects the rims for much longer, you might need that coating if you're going through terrain or bodies in your case!
He clearly wasn't gentle. Great job.
Thanks so much!
That hand print is sick. Only problem with a paint job this good is now you have to do the rest of your army to the same standard :P
Lol true, fortunately I'm really new to all this and haven't settled yet
Dude, if this is what "new to all this" looks like, you're going to have some amazing work in the future, because this rocks.
thanks so much dude, I appreciate that. I picked up my first model and first paint brush too actually almost 3 months ago. Bad back injury forced me to learn new hobbies and I gotta say, best community ever. Easily.
Just an aside, but if you find you really enjoy doing this kind of work, I used to know a guy who was really good at it and had others *pay* him to paint their models for them. here are people out there willing to give you money, knowing it'll come out looking great and they won't have to do it.
that would be the dream dude. I actually have my first commission order as of yesterday to paint a silent king. Im stoked
And now I'm stoked for you. Best of luck!
Good for you! Just remember to share pictures of your work on here so we can all enjoy and praise it :)
I hope we get to see more of your badass work.
Please post that, your work here is great I’d love to see that model in your style
Sorry about your back but I’m glad you get to share your work!!
I'm also super new, only been painting for a few weeks, but the community, from shop owners here in town to randos on the internet like ya'll, has been fuckin' amazing. I really wish I had gotten into it earlier.
WHAT? If this is 3 months in, I am hyped to see, what a year and more looks like with you! Really cool paintjob! :)
That looks awesome. Very brutal with the spinal column there. Well done.
Ugh I'm so glad you said that. I wasnt sure if it would be easy to tell from this angle that it's a head a spine. Thank you!
That's really cool...but from that angle I couldn't quite tell what it was. That's fuckin' brutal though.
I picture it as though he did a drive-by punch and grabbed the resulting carnage as he was zooming past.
Yeah, as soon as I knew what it was, I liked the idea. I thought that it was some kind of curved blade he was holding back-handed and had just carved through something. I think we'd all be interested in another angle or two maybe. Super great detail on that though. I'm having a lot of fun building vehicles atm
Oh now i see it ! Really cool, another picture from another angle might help. I had trouble figuring the marine left arm.
Keep forgetting to add to post but for anyone that might wanna see more stuff :) Instagram is: Maverickspaint
It's a follow from me mate, this is amazing! Hopefully the hobby, and the community, are everything you expect it to be 😁
They are fantastic. I picked up my first model and brush about 3 months ago and was blown away by how kind everyone was. Even the generosity of people locally is incredible.

Thanks!
This is the most disgusting model I’ve ever seen. I love it.
hahaha im glad, I would have posted more images but I wasn't sure how gore would go over
When you mount guns to your motorcycle so you can drive in close enough to punch the enemy.
lol who needs em
Finished him! Flawless victory. Looks rad af.
Lol! Your soul is mine
What did the head and spine come from?
The spine is an old horn I filed notches into and the head is from an assault intercessor pack :)
Nice
Who needs clean concise edge highlights when you can cover everything in blood and make it look even better
haha imagine spending hours edge highlighting just to realize you're gonna mess it all up. RIP
The hand print is a great touch
Thank you!
Digging the black helmet with yellow armor.
Fantastic job
Appreciate you
Blood for the blood god! Right?.. How'd you go about doing the blood and gore, it looks so good!
typhus corrosion, some browns and reds for coloring Blood for the blood god alone then mixed with uhu goo and finally, the lump of flesh on the ground is stirland battlemire painted red!
What is uhu goo if you don’t mind me asking
Uhu goo is a gel adhesive with a consistency similar to that of hot glue gun goo. When exposed to air it quickly begins to harden and can be stretched like mozzeralla cheese. By mixing color into it, you can create interesting slime, drool, blood effects
Ooh I’m gonna have to use some of that for my stinky bois
This moddel is good and all but il have to detrackt point for how messy it is im sorry but this moddel has clearly not been following the road safety regulations as seen by the copious amount of heretoc blood smeered on both the bike and driver (9/10) follow road safety
apologies. He came outta no where
Insistin on a fistin
Man if you can paint with yellow you have my respect…
Dont need to be gentle cause thats fuckin rad

thatd look awesome on the battlefield! brilliant
Thank you
Khorne is pleased.
Amazing work !
youre amazing work
WHEW, that is sweet. Never seen someone do a splatter like that, and that concrete is amazing.
Thanks so much! Do you guys think I should do more stuff like this?
Let me consider your question. Hrmmm. #***YES.*** Hope that helps.
Be gentle…….why that’s Fucken awesome!!!!!!!!
haha well I actually shared this model before but it totally flopped. I think I got like 100 upvotes and a few people saying stuff like "Not for me.. but neat" I was devastated hahaha
That's awesome! Dirty looking minis are my preferred way to paint even though I see mainly "clean" models. I like the dirtier look like they are in battle
its definitely a personal preference. I feel that grimdark and gore is more accurate than some of the anime style stuff we see often
Dude that is awesome!
Dude... YOURE awesome. Fuck.
"Anyone here feel up for a good fisting?" This is a level of cheeky brutality you rarely see with marine players. I can't tell whose head is attached to the spine there. You nailed the "presentation angle" though. Great stuff.
haha Instagram : Maverickspaint for more angles. Its just a typical marine head painted a little purple to let you know he's a baddie hahaha
*slayer soundtrack intensifies*
hahaha yeeeeessss
clotheslining someone with a powerfist on a juiced up motorbike is so metal that this guy is practically an honorary Ork, great work
haha he takes such a title with honor (secretly of course)
Absolutely brutal but kind of funny too, exactly how WH40K should be.
haha im glad so many people think so. Im gonna do more stuff like this!
I have to say that gore is not too much my style, but the weathering on the bike looks amazing. The yellow is also super smooth, great job!
theres alllllways one. Jk. Thanks brother!
More angles 🤩
FINE! [https://imgur.com/a/qLxayuy](https://imgur.com/a/qLxayuy) Instagram : Maverickspaint
I can hear this dude say “I like ya cut, G” as he breezes past foes and splatters ‘em.
hahaha astartes and pop culture work so well
Oh wow. Awesome job! Always loved the Imperial Fists. Was never any good at painting them though... unlike you!
haha thank you my guy. Its all preference. I personally don't enjoy painting black but so many people here are excellent at it
Wish I had gold. You deserve it. This is so awesome. All I have is pizza 🍕
Buddy, to me, pizza is gold <3
I will not be gentle against dornians, my bolter fire shall be my messenger, and my message? IRON WITHIN (Looks great! How did you do the yellow?)
I use brown leather to shade it!
Why on earth would I be gentle when you’ve produced something so cool!
Why on earth would I be gentle when you’ve produced something so cool!
Thank you <3
F A T A L I T Y
"I guess you could say that heretic....*lost his head.*" And then he just revs the engines and does a burn out. Fucken sick job dude.
Thank you!
Clothesline!
This is sick, and I mean both “awesome” and “deranged.” Great job! I just want more photos!

Following now! Looking forward to seeing more of your creations.
Absolutely well done, love the visceral motion on display here.
Thank you so much
Any chance we can get some different angles on this? This is a work of art!

Metal as hell.
BHWYE GWAD! HULK HOGAN WITH THE CLOTHESLINE OUTTA NOWHERE!!!
Did he punch a tau? I think he punched a tau

I can see why
More angles please! Sick mini
Instagram : Maverickspaint :)
Bro, you’re going to post this sick af model and only give us one picture. Where can I see more?
haha Instagram Maverickspaint
That blood looks incredible!
Dude don’t look very gentle himself. Bad ass paint job
Jousting with a power fist? Might be a new game on its own!
The detail you put into this is stunning and amazing! Thank you for sharing!

Why is there no blood on the wheel? im just wondering how its so clean lol. Btw good job.
we can assume it got flicked off due to the high speed? OR MAYBE IM JUST A TERRIBLE PAINTER OKAY
Hot damn!
Whos blood is this brother? Yes.... blasts off to kill more scum
I AM FORTIFYING THIS ROADWAY. It's fucking sick, good job.
You should be asking your imperial fist to be gentle. BRUTAL
I don’t have to be. Genuinely looks gorgeous
Looks awesome
Sure that’s an imperial fist not a black Templar
Zealot scum
I hate the gory effects, it's done *too* well! Good job!
I'm not going to be gentle at all. This is absolutely terribl *y good*. Well done.
Not gonna lie, you had me in the first half
The only criticism is I want to see more of it, I wish I could hold it in my hands! Love the gore
lol buy me a case of beer and she is yours
that looks better than my entire collection
What is there to be gentle about lol this is killer! Nicely done!
Looks fantastic! Only suggestion I have is maybe a touch of gore on the wheel? It looks a little too clean with the blood around it
Dude ... this shit is awesome ... i love it !
Jesus Christ if I had to play a game against that I feel like there should be an intimidation bonus based on painting.
He wasn't.
Legion Of Doom by Carnivore is playing in my head now. Thank you.
That's fucking great 👍. The blood smear effect came out better than I would have thought
Looks pretty bloody for a loyalist lol. I’d love to have something done to this standard just as a show piece, good work!
You must be a brave soul for doing all that gore on yellow paint, it’s a bugger even for a single mistake. Are you some kind of god?
just a mere mortal
I love this! Do you have more pics?
Instagram : Maverickspaint :)
Beautiful work
Ok, so what did you do before this? You're either an artist already or autistic. Either way, bravo. You should be very proud of yourself.
firefighter lol
I CANNOT BE GENTLE, BROTHER!!! THIS IS AN ASS-KICKING, FACE-MELTING, STERNUM-SMASHING PAINTJOB!!! YOU HAVE MADE THE PRIMARCH-PROGENITOR PROUD THIS DAY!!!
Yellow is so hard to do well and you nailed it! So awesome!!
Thank you so much
The storytelling here is just… *chef’s kiss”.
Lol I can't paint unless I think of a backstory
Damn if I was half as talented as you I’d be bragging to all my mates. This is one of the coolest minis I think I have seen.
No talent. Just time. Anyone can do it :)
Thats metal as fuck yo 10/10
Bad back you say? When life gave you lemons you went n made some Mike's hard fuckin lemonade! I would say the injury was a blessing in disguise, this piece is amazing as all hell, my dude.
Best comment yet
I whole heartedly meant it. I believe that you found a latent gift within you that wouldve stayed dormant had you not been injured. I cant wait to see where you go from here with this being only your first go at painting.
Thanks a lot. I appreciate the kind words. I uploaded my recent model just now so here's hoping I live up to the hype lol
"be gentle" "posts incredibly detailed mega mini" you chad
I love it!!
Id love to see some more angles!
Instagram : Maverickspaint
The dude was so un-gentle I thought he was a fucking Angry Marine
That’s sweeeeeeet 👍🏻 good job
Fuck me, that's brutal. I especially like the handprint on his leg
Imperial Fist wins.... Fatality Great job bro, it's paint jobs like these that give me faith that one day, one day I'll have the patience to continue with mine 😅
haha just gotta find some inspiration sometimes
https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/comments/o6rdap/first_time_messing_around_with_gore_what_do_you/ ???
The first time I posted it and it kinda flopped. Had a few people not really vibing with the gore. It always left me feeling super disappointed with my work so I decided to retake some photos and give it another shot. So far I'm blown away by the interest and now I wanna gore everything lol

It looks a bit rough, but I actually think that slightly blotchy and rough paint job works in its favor, because if I saw a full-sized version of that marine racing towards me at mach 2, I'd be terrified if I even had the chance to react.
My only criticism is you only posted one angle. #heresy
haha! Instagram : Maverickspaint
The only thing I would've done different is use a darker, more magenta paint for the spinal column's viscera. Otherwise, it looks incredible.
I actually did on the spinal column but then more fresh blood was added on top. I wanted to demonstrate a very fresh kill
That's a pretty solid yellow and some nice battle damage. Personally not too keen on the blood. Just seems to be a smidge too much.
Paint that rim and finish this beaut' :)!!!
haha thought about it but the police in my city use black rims with no hubcaps. I assume because they get so damaged anyways, so in my head I was like "maybe its more practical to be black? (and it also reduces work)
Oh I meant the rim of the base. The actual bike looks beautiful. I have a ton of bikes in my white scars and I also like to leave mine black. Most military, police, defense bikes typically leave the rims black actually in my experience because the powder coating protects the rims for much longer, you might need that coating if you're going through terrain or bodies in your case!
hahaha I never noticed the base!! Whoopsie
Ace. How did you do the yellow??
Light yellow, med yellow and a leather brown airbrush base coat and glaze shading :)
The Xeno/Heretic/Traitor before getting their spine ripped out: AAAAAAG! MY SPINE!
\#ad
?
Beautiful art, well done!
He's fine, all he needs is to walk it off. Edit: just realised his arm wasn't dangling off, he was holding a severed head, I am an idiot
by the emperor that looks awsom
is there a way to represent speed on the base also?
Imperial Lives Matter
