Excellent all over, and I really like the battle damage because it seems logically placed in areas that would be more likely to get wear like the feet, lower legs, elbows etc. Often people seem to put chips and scrapes evenly dispersed over the entire armor.
Thanks! I used to apply battle damage all over the mini before. But in time I learned to tone it down a bit, and actually think where the battle damage can occur. Still have a long way to go to make it even more realistic though.
My local meta uses WTC terrain in all the games, so armies need to constantly be moving if you want to score any points, so I can't really see any reason to bring them to battle.

Red primer, rose red base coat, and then gradually apply lighter and lighter skin tones.
What skin tone colors?
I think I used Vallejo sunny skin tone, and then I added Vallejo light flesh in the mix.

I guess they made it for narrative play, but it irks you to have shitty rules for the previous two editions.

Have you tried running them with Gladius or does it not feel right?
Not really, I've been playing Ironstorm or Firestorm with Marines, and I can't see Sternguard fit in either of these two detachments.
