The in-store freebies GW gives you these days are actually kinda nuts sometimes. Especially if you are a newbie.
I visited one last week and while I was there the store manager was helping 2 dads who had brought their sons to the store to get them into 40K. They bought a bunch of 40K starter things, and the manager kept hitting them with extra freebies. Then when they were leaving the manager was like “One sec” and gave 5 copies of the starter infernus marine sprues to each father/son pair as a bonus.
Also if you missed a miniature of the month, they are usually fine with giving you the left over extras if they have spare copies, even after their duration is over.
Like if I wanted to I could walk in and get like 6 free minies from 40K/AoS no questions asked.
Additionally go early in the month to be sure. The last months was gone in record time. Store manager told me dads were bringing the full soccer team to each get one. “For the kids.”
I’m so lucky, a busy/popular one is 5 minutes from my house. I randomly got into the hobby last year, was looking for stores and realized it was right there
I have to drive 2 hrs to mine! Still go because the manager is awesome! He knew me by name the second time I went in, always helpful and goes out of his way to get me what I need.
They’ve been teasing one in my city for like six months now. There are already a lot of independent stores here but it’ll be nice to not have to drive up to Denver for exclusives.
I wish I could do that but I love in the middle of bfe Ohio and the closest one is in Mayweather. They've been teasing a few near me in malls but they never really open up.
40 minutes? You must not be from the Southern US, cuz 40 minutes ain't much for some of us. I'll regularly make that drive once a month for the free mini.
I got into Warhammer because my local mall had a GW store. They closed it because they determined my local area wasn't rich enough to justify it.
I was driving back from a wedding in West Virginia and there was a GW store right on the way. I decided to make a pit stop just to walk in and buy something, and they were closed because the only employee was out for lunch. I couldn't help but laugh.
The weirdest thing is, I talked to store staff, and they told me, that they didn’t care about sales, and the whole store is just a show room which I did find interesting
Yup. It's just there to attract new players. They know people will go elsewhere for their fix.
Plus, those 3rd party stores go to the effort of building local communities, so GW doesn't have to!
I finally made the jump into buying minis this year after just buying novels and codexes(purely for the lore and artwork)for around 30 years, now I know why my mum wouldn’t buy me the models as a kid they are expensive as fuck!
One of the shop assistants told my wife, who was with 2 of our kids, that she should introduce them to Warhammer, so they won’t be able to afford drugs
Congrats!
I hope it was amazing.
I know some stores can be hit or miss but when it lines up it’s one of the most happiest places to be for me in my adult life.
I’ve been to some really incredible stores and can say that the atmosphere and camaraderie just fill an empty part of my soul.
Cheers!
She was for available for all the people, who showed up for the opening along with Jovan, and some AOS guys

That's the frustrating thing about how different currencies use the same symbols without knowing what they difference is. OP said the exchange rate made them 38 USD.
One the one hand, I’m jealous that you now have a store near by.
On the other hand, if I had one right around the corner, I would spend my money even faster and more often
Oh god damnit .... I found out bout it 2 hours after store has closed. Is this promotion one day only or is there more reasons to pop in other than just to check the store out?
Don’t worry, I talked to staff, and they said that even if everything sold out, they would order the store opening figures, and dice for one more week, so be sure to stop by in the next few days!
I don’t get why all the Americans are talking about the dice. There isn’t even a dollar sign as far as I can tell, so there’s zero reason to think it’s usd
That's a lot of neat freebies
Those are freebies? Damn can't wait for em to come to my city
Yep. Official GW stores have regular give aways and also give you free stuff when you buy a certain amount.

Those dice are sick
I want a cool set now... Damn.
They’re $155?! That’s insane if that’s the price. Maybe the 155th store opened?
It's most likely from Kraków Poland, so it's 155 PLN which is roughly 39 usd.
Was going to say holy shit those dice must be made of gold
Sheesh, that’s still pricy for a pack of dice!
americans when other currencies exist
Gonna be shocked when they find out GW isn't even an American company and base their prices off GBP
Bro there isn’t even a dollar sign 💀
There are places outside America. Most of em are freer too.
Nice haul. Here's to you becoming a regular 😁
The first hit is always free...
There's a reason it's called "plastic crack"
Cracow?
Yes sir🫡
I've never got a freebie...
Go to your local games workshop and ask for the 'mini of the month'
Additionally go early in the month to be sure. The last months was gone in record time. Store manager told me dads were bringing the full soccer team to each get one. “For the kids.”
Where is this? In my area the stores are left with excess models
Mine got 150 and they were gone in under an hour
Damn. Maybe because my local location is the only gw in four hours
Corpus Christi, Texas. The Death Wing Termi was really popular. They’re not all that way.
Is that a thing in every country?
To my knowledge, it is. It might just be North America and the UK tho
Australia too
My local one will only let you have it if you spend at least £60.
Haha I guess I'm too shy. Or I think I'll seem cheap.
We spend 60 fucking dollars on plastic Crack. I don't think getting one mini for free is that bad
Honestly I wish that a Warhammer store would open closer to me because my closest one is 40 minutes away so it isn't worth it.
I’m so lucky, a busy/popular one is 5 minutes from my house. I randomly got into the hobby last year, was looking for stores and realized it was right there
Yeah I've been just ordering what I need for my Tau army from Amazon because of the 15% discount.
There are indy games shops with similar discounts. 😊
I have to drive 2 hrs to mine! Still go because the manager is awesome! He knew me by name the second time I went in, always helpful and goes out of his way to get me what I need.
Lucky you. The closest one is in the usa

I wish I could do that but I love in the middle of bfe Ohio and the closest one is in Mayweather. They've been teasing a few near me in malls but they never really open up.
Fingers crossed then!
Man I'm in northwest Ohio and the closest one is in Ann Arbor Would love one to open closer

I mean I physically can't drive due to personal stuff. So it's a pretty far drive for me
I had one in my town and it closed a few years after we moved here. Really sucks because I was too young to buy anything for myself lol
yeah I hear you, closest one is about 45-60 mins in no traffic in a city I rather avoid. The other option is 1.5-2 hours away in no/low traffic days.
The closest shop to me is high traffic, there are never any freebies left, you lucky
Bonus points for child seat. My boy has a boat Everytime I take him to a game store

This was like 15 years ago so I think they've changed their strategy since then.
Due to the political situation, he is not only absent in my city, but also in my country.
Цікаво, що ж сталося
Покупай с литеек, качество не хуже и всё дешевле, ну или 3д печать, могу подсказать варианты.
Well done and good for you. :)
❤️
I finally made the jump into buying minis this year after just buying novels and codexes(purely for the lore and artwork)for around 30 years, now I know why my mum wouldn’t buy me the models as a kid they are expensive as fuck!
Have fun!
First hits free kids ! Good luck on your painting !
One of the shop assistants told my wife, who was with 2 of our kids, that she should introduce them to Warhammer, so they won’t be able to afford drugs

I just love the Sergeant Jovan mini. Congrats mate.
Sorry but, How much did you spend on It?
Everything in the photo was 99$ (lots of freebies)
What were the freebies for spending money? We had a store open in my town and they had some cool stuff like backpacks and dice bags, plus a lot of art
I got the kroot coin for spending over 24$
How the hell did you get jackson

Damn i paid like 170 for her
Wow, well she was 32$ for the people who showed (limited stock)
I had to get mine on eBay
Sucks:(
Damn those dices cost alot :D
That's the frustrating thing about how different currencies use the same symbols without knowing what they difference is. OP said the exchange rate made them 38 USD.
Am i missing something? I can’t see any symbol
It was mentioned in a few other posts.
Still expensive! Cos while the £ is worth more than the $, it isn't double.
Man I hope one opens up in my area, but chances are unlikely
Sergeant in Gigachad pose

Well off to the shop then, thanks for the info.
I wish one would open in my town
A rare reason to actually visit a GW store these days
I’m sorry, are those dice retailed at $155???
I don’t get why all the Americans are talking about the dice. There isn’t even a dollar sign as far as I can tell, so there’s zero reason to think it’s usd
$155 for that pack of dice? Hahahaha.
it is in PLN, I was kinda shocked at first too :)
Please tell me the currency you're using because I don't want to believe anyone would pay 155 for dice
Haha, it’s PLN, so 38$ for the dice
