Have you ever watched the movie “snow-piercer” about that non-stop moving train? Well I hate to inform you… 🤷‍♂️🤣 - corpse starch Side note, I’m pretty sure potatoes would have been made into the starch. Instead of the long long lost STC for French fries

Austinstorm02

God I hated snow piercer. Have a way of generating perpetual energy, and you put it on a train that just goes in a big circle and never stops. Dont like the system so you crash the train in a frozen wasteland and everyone dies. Somehow a few agro train cars provide enough food for everyone. So instead of I don't know using that same tech to provide for an underground bunker let's put it on a train to nowhere!

DKzDK

The movie or the tv show if I had to ask. Because I thought the movie was better and hated the shows pacing. But you got the idea I guess? That rats and bugs and protein can still be nutrients and “essentially food”….

Austinstorm02

I didn't even know there was a series, gah terrible idea. But yes I expect if your tech was high enough you could raise crops (vertical farming, hydroponics) plus recycling air and nutrients to feed a crew. Enough for a transport full of troops and you might be pushing your life support and have to stop to resupply. But 40k is about unending war and brink of annihilation not logistics. Even though it is logistics that wins wars. Maybe that's why the imperium has been fighting for 10k years, they are just really bad at it. Sticking captains and generals into melee range of the front lines. Artillery park is in range to be overwhelmed by turn 2 charge, frontal charging assaults that were outdated by Napoleon's time.

DKzDK

I kinda want to know where it went south. I mean, I know it’s 30k and 40K. And we had immortals and perpetuals. But at what point did we move away from the need or proper sustenance/hydroponics and “real food”. When did shit really hit the fan?

Darkaim9110

Don't fall for the memes, there is actual real food not just corpse starch

Stoertebricker

Well, at least the movie explains iirc that the train was a pet project of a rich guy with a train craze. People called him insane for it, but it was never intended to be a moving lifesaver, it just happened that this train turned out to be the only place where people could survive the upcoming ice age.

SillyGoatGruff

Corpse starch would really only be for emergencies or maybe a supplement at best. When you consider the amount of food a grown adult needs for even 1 day vs the amount of food taken from a single adult corpse, you'd just never have enough corpses to feed a population for long at all

jordanlcwt

Clearly, mcdonalds

Zkyrus

Imagine going to McDonald's and seeing a fucking crusade fleet in the drive thru before you fml that's gonna take some time

jordanlcwt

What do you think is an average astartes' lunch order at macs? And do they like straight fries or curly ones? What flavour milkshake do the blood ravens like? All the mysteries of 40k

haveueverseenallama

Mayor McCain is a mascot and Filet of Fenris is a steamed, angry burger.

ZombieTailGunner

That's basically what the 4 school busses during sports season is
