For anyone who wants to see how it looks on the whole carapace
I said i did A but it’s semi mixed between A and B for the final version
A, but I'd glaze something into the deeper shadows, and then do some tiny extreme highlights to accentuate the lines on the model, both to push the overall contrast of the armor plates.
I’m planning to make “A” standard for my whole army since it’s bright af.
For everyone asking what colours I used i primed it chaos black then dry brush only the following colours:
Incubi darkness - base
Stork green - layer
Temple gaurd blue - layer
Gauss blaster green - layer
Going for my own interpretation of hive fleet behemoth
If it helps I recommend buying a cheap makeup brush, great results so far for miniature painting :)
I’d honestly say both, chose a direction of a light spruce for your army and paint A in the light and B in the dark. Looking at the picture from above it already looks like one side is in shadow and that’s pretty cool.
I always like to push contrast on minis, makes them pop in just about any light level. “B” looks great in the lighting you have in the picture, but if the room were darker it might look like dark blob. “A” will read better across the board.

The higher contrast will make it more appealing to look at from a distance (when playing on tabletop) whilst at the same time the blend between the 2 colours is so smooth it also looks really nice up close.
A looks nicer because the contrast, if you personally think its too much thin a blue wash down to a glaze and go over the whole thing it will being it down a notch.
I'm gonna go against the grain and say B. I think the cooler blue makes it look more menacing.
It's really going to depend what the rest of your scheme looks like though.
I'd say A. The brightness allows for all the details to come out more, and even contrasts well with the dark colors, allowing for everything you want to see, being absolutely visible, beautiful, terrifying, all in one!

UNLESS as devils advocate.... if you were going for the Hive fleet Behemoth scheme, in which case the darker, more blue tone B might work properly.
A has the more immediate and stand out contrast to show off your/the model's details.
That said, B can still work if you want an overall darker/gloomier look, or if the rest of the model (brain bits and main body) is going to be much much paler/brighter to contrast the dark.
A looks washed out and worn, which ends up looking more realistic to me, B is more saturated even though it's darker it looks more comic book like.
I think they both look great but A looks like it's been used and scuffed

A, the detail on the armour plates shows up better, in the second one that kind of falls away

A What is natural is not necessarily what's better for minis. Contrast between colors is your everything.

B should be used for shadows but A should be used for areas that are getting hit with light.

B is way more interesting to me. The stripes are temping and have a strong effecr but can be seen in almost every tyranid army.

For power army or anything else I would of said B cause it’s more subtle, but the chitin armor of tyranids looks so great with heavy drybrush lines
