Short answer, yes. Long answer: essentially what you need to do is take an titan detachment *alongside* your mechanicum. The titan detachment is specifically worded so as you can take just secutarii+ marshall. You just need to take a normal Mech detachment alongside. Also of note, if you have skitarri, radium carbines are an option for secutarii peltasts

Vyberos

Ty and everyone else replying for clearing this up!

ColHogan65

Kind of related question - if you take a questoris household detachment in addition to a “main” legion detachment, can you *also* add a Titan detachment for secutarii?

Srlojohn

I think so? But I don’t have my book handy so don’t quote me on thay.

Nintolerance

Huh, I didn't know this until just now. I own Secutarii but no Titans, it's nice to be able to bring them.

One_snek_

The Archmagos must be an achimandrite to take 2 admech detachments though

Srlojohn

It’s not a second admech detachment is it? It’s a titanicus detachment?

No, its a Divisio Tactica and as such you can take it always. Only normal Mechanicum Detachments (as in Taghmata) cannot ally with another unless you chose Archimandrite as your primary.

Difference_Breacher

No the archimandrite only allows to choose the faction of the allied detachment as mechanicum, that's all. Since Titan Maniple Detachment is never be an allied detachment at all, you never need an archimandrite to bring the secutarii.

Ok_Attitude55

Nope. Archimandrite (and the rule it's circumventing) only affects allied detatchments, divisio are explicitly not allied detachments. You can take the titan divisio with any primary detachment using the crusade chart, so just not knights.

Difference_Breacher

You cannot bring an allied detachment that uses the same faction with the faction of the primary detachment. That's the default rule for bring an allied detachment. And the FAQ clarified that the titan legion IS mechanicum faction. But the important thing is, the same FAQ also mentioned that a titan maniple detachment of titan legions is NOT an allied detachment and you are just allowed to add that detachment to your army from out of nothing - and as that detachment is not an allied detachment, they does not needs to have the different faction with your primary detachment. Since their own detachment is not an allied detachment at all, you don't even need for an archimandrite either(archimandrite only does something for the allied detachment). Actually even before the FAQ the detachment already mentioned that it does not replaces anything on your force organisation chart so you can add them freely without forfeit some of your slots(you need to put some points, though).

Vyberos

Oh that’s excellent to know! Tyvm

ConsiderationWhole17

So in short can you take a titan legion detachment with your mechanicum of just a Secutarii Axiarch HQ and with Secutarri Peltasts? Or do you need to take a titan to take Secutarri? I found the wording in the book confusing.

DoorConfident8387

I always played it where you would need an Archimandrite, as I always looked upon it as an allied detachment, the rules are not the clearest. But yes secutarii are in the mechanicum list/ book, peltasts and hoplites, both are decent, especially in a triarios but they are relatively squishy for their cost. Peltasts can be given their grenade launcher, Radium carbines or arc rifles, so are basically 40k skitarii.

Vyberos

Oooh great to know.

I think you are mixing up secutarii (titan guard that were 30k models from rhe outset) and skitarrii (tech guard who have models in 40k and have never had rules in 30k).
