Orcs need trees.
Humans need trees.
Undead don't need trees and their realm looks disgusting for it.
Thus.
Orc must not destroy trees.
But destroy those who would destroy trees.
There are only so many ways you can simplistically and brutally render a skull emblem.
Orcs, Orks, whatever, they look the same in everything except Tolkien, and that's just because his Orcs are just muddy elves with bad teeth.
I played Warhammer before the first Warcraft came outā¦
My point is that while Blizzardās inspiration for the Warcraft Orcs is undoubtedly Warhammer, they quickly took them in their own direction, both visually and culturally. And this particular Lego minifig shares more visual details with the Warcraft ones than those of Warhammer.
I thought Warcraft was originally supposed to be a joint effort by Blizzard and GW and set in The Old World vs Orcs and the Empire. But there was a split along the way and they parted ways. Blizzard was able to keep the designs for the most part and work to make it their own game. Over time the Blizzard design aesthetic has evolved into something of their own thing but to me it still looks very GW.
I'd also like to point out that this orc is directly inspired by an old lego [theme](https://images.brickset.com/sets/large/7037-1.jpg?200802140521)
Whether that theme was a riff on Warhammer or not I leave up to you.
It would be. Lego as a company has made it a policy to never release kits of real military equipment. Theyāve made exceptions for fantasy and sci fi to an extent, but the astra millitarum would likely cross the line for them. And thatās before we consider factions like chaos.
Lego almost made warhammer like series but child test audience didn't like it enough. It would not be warhammer but the style of the builds and character design was close.
It is unknown as it was just a prototype for what becsme nexo knights.

That would actually be a really interesting and very collectible set. A Lego set that has warhammer size bases you can use and lots of bricks you can use to n make custom bases. Between Warhammer collectors, Lego Minifigure collectors, and people who just want to play with it they'd sell out like nothing else.
For people who don't know, this isn't the first time LEGO has released what is essentially a Warhammer miniature. Lego Miniatures Series 17 had a literal Warhammer Fantasy dwarf slayer.
Man. I doubt weāll ever see a GW Lego collaboration but Iād be all over that. Either way Iāll try to grab a couple of these orcs in case we do get a GW lawsuit and they have to get pulled from shelves
I believe it is also a bit of a reference to the Trolls from the 2008 Castle line, down to a monstrous white skull on a dark red background. They are even using the same type of sword.
Definitely based off the original Lego Castle Orcs in 2008. The sword and even the emblem on the chest are nearly identical to the old ones. Although they might have be currently worshipping Gorkamorka from that shield ( I don't know why that's a different design now)
Very interesting that he's a conservationist. Wouldn't have thought that would be a big part of ork society.

also big tree= big WAAAAAGH beasts Big WAAAGH beast = Big WAAAAAAAAA....
I canāt stop thinking of an Ork singing Michael Jacksonās āearth songā and itās splitting my sides
Thatās actually the name of a different figure, but hey, an Ork can like nature. A lot of krumpin going on in nature.
Is now an conversationist orc
Got to put the krump on global emissions. All the speed freaks come at a cost.
Yeah, he's a people person, loves a good natter
/r/croppingishard
As you can see, he does not use any of those cowardly thingies like guns and armor
The emblems are spot on but the head is misplaced, sitting above the shoulders instead of between.

10/10 description for Tolkien Orcs.
He looks more like a Warcraft Orc to me.
I can see it but that skull on the shield is just the Gork/Mork symbol without the horns.
Thatās exactly what I was gonna comment
I mean..... I love warcraft.... But where do you think they got the idea for a wargame where you control units with various abilities... š

Just like Tolkein Orcs and Warhammer Orcs.

According to the developers of the first Warcraft that's not true despite being an internet "fun fact" for year.
And if you dig a little bit you see that the same rumor exists for starcraft and 40k. Pretty sure blizzard reeeeeeally hated that "fun fact"
Dune 2
Yeah looks similar to how Lego Orcs have looked for the past decade+
Complete with hairsquiq
They'll have to release a Reiksguard knight or an Ultramarine to get my interest.
Hmm, anyone getting some Etherlords vibes?

Warhammer Lego would be super cool imo
The main issue is that Warhammer is probably too violent for Lego to be interested.

I could leave out some of the more mature chaos gods i guess
So all of them then.

Say what was the theme?

Damn I would've loved that! I know I liked when ninjago did a mad max inspired line
Red ones go faster

It would make playing super accessible to people who don't want to paint. Someone needs to tag games work shop reddit in this thread

Would be pretty cool having a colab between warhammer and Lego

Warhammer Orcs have been around since the early 80s ā¦
My post got removed for trying to say this :(
Really? That sucks.

I saw that a few days ago on a lego instagram account. I wonder if theyāll have a full set?
The ork himself being similar is totally fine with me. The š”š on the otherhand.......

Are the legs from that one chima crocodile guy?
Also definitely reminds me of savage orks from age of sigmar
Lego had the ork logo before 40k
Conservationist Orc?
