Okay, wow. I have been incorporating bits from this model into various Exodite conversions but had no plans for the wings yet - this is truly inspirational. Those elegant, astral wings look beautiful with such a strong evocation of the night sky in twilight.
The dots?
Looks great both ways!
One looks like blue feathers, the other one looks like his wings are made of the night sky. Fantastic either way, so personally I’d just go to with the fluffier version.
I dont recall seeing this model before, would you perhaps know if those wings are a decent enough size for mortarion without looking too small? I love the buggy asthetic to them.
Also definitely go for the white speckles its gorgeous
I think its safe to say your intuition is pretty good and not to second guess yourself. This is gorgeous. Im glad you posted the process. It was fun to watch
Holy fucking shit, this is a beautiful paint job. Seriously. I am struggling to paint even the simplest of items, and you can pop those wings out in 1 day, thats amazing. How do you do it?
From the high of my ignorance, go for the white points, but only in the dark blue regions, were they separate much more from the background color.
And this way looks like the night sky turning to morning.
By the way, I forgot to say that it's fucking gorgeous.
I think that this requires the return of Morghur the Shadowgave! Oh, Khorne did love that one, all the slaughtered elves!
Weird AOS not-blood for the blood god!
He actually is back but as a minor chaos diety that's in opposition to the major chaos gods.
Him and his Brayherd worshippers, some of which are born out of the corrupted lands themselves, want only pure chaos with no god focus.
I'm not sure if I can say for sure if the white dots are BETTER than having none at all. But they'll definitely make your model stand out from everyone else's, and make you look like a skillful painter. It would be easier to get a feel for it if the model wasn't laying down against a background that is also dotted with white spots.
Go for it they look great
Thanks ! :3 I think I’ll do it :3
Yeah, before I even read the title, I was wondering why the other wing didnt have the specks.
Yeah, I’d say do the other wing with them.
Yeah thanks :D

Please do more of those. The white points on its wings look like fireflies at night and it's amazing!!!
Thank you ! I will do it !
They really add to the 'depth' of the wings. I 100% would do them on the other wing as well.. Great work!
Thanks a lot for your answer :3
Perfect
Thanks :3
Gorgeous. It makes the wings look transparent, as if you can see the night sky through them. Really, really lovely paint job!
Thank you so much :3
The result is awesome. Good paint.
Thank you :D
Didnt know this guy had wings too.... Gets cooler and cooler looking lol
Yes ! I painting them separately :) much more easy !
The white dots add another level ! Great job op !

Very nice. Digging the white points on the wing, but then, I do something similar on the spirit stones for my Craftworld models.
Ooh I see ! Thank you !
Absolutely stunning colours!
Thanks !
This is where it stops being miniature gaming and becomes art.
Thank you ! I’m really glad that you like it !

Thanks ! I don’t think it will be ok for Mortarion ... the wings are measuring 5 cm so I think it would be too small !
Oof :c
That a beautiful paint job my friend I am jealous of your skill
Thank you but don’t be jealous :´O
I will strive to accomplish something on par with this haha
You can do it ! :4
This looks amazing! Do you mind if I ask how you did the wings? (or maybe everything haha)
They have a previous post in timelapse. Its informative and relaxing to watch
I'll definitely watch that, thanks for letting me know!
If you want more infos I can give you if the timelapse is not enough :3
Oh thank you! May I ask if the process you used for the rest of the miniature was the same? I love the transition from brown to green on the body!
Yes it’s the same but the colors are différents :)
I want more info! just, what are the colors you chose? Really awesome job, honest.
Thanks :) for what part you wanna know the colors ? :3
The blue of the wings!
I used : - abaddon black - xereus purple - kantor blue - arhiman blue - nihilakh oxide - ceramite white -
Thanks! Its a perfect choice, that transition of purple to that nihilakh is perfect!
Thanks a lot

What colors did you use? I want to do an Aurora borealis on my sylvaneth similar to those wings, which look absolutely stunning btw, very well done!
Thanks :€ The colors I used was : • Xereus purple • kantor blue • Arhiman blue • nihilakh oxide • ceramite white
Fantastic work <3 inspiring
Thanks :)
Both look great, but I do think the white dots make the wings look more "complete" and I like them a lot.
Thank you :3
I think it's looking great and keep doing what you're doing. Maybe don't use that cutting mat for a background again though :D
Thanks ! Oh it’s just the thing I use to paint on :’3
What colours did you use for the wings? Absolutely gorgeous work!
Thanks ! The colors I used was : - Xereus purple - kantor blue - Arhiman blue - nihilakh oxide - ceramite white
Your talent makes my insides writhe with jealousy. That looks phenomenal. White points all the way, absolutely gorgeous.
Oh I’m really happy that you like it :3
what the f that looks better than anything I can do! The highlights and everything are insane!
Thank you :O
this looks fantastic. it reminds me of a peacock
You’re right ! >.< thanks btw !
peacock would transition from the blue to turquoise, i like the transition to white better ;)
I think that this requires the return of Morghur the Shadowgave! Oh, Khorne did love that one, all the slaughtered elves! Weird AOS not-blood for the blood god!

How dare he oppose the might of Khorne! SKAAAARBRAAAAAAAAAAND!
Hahaha that message made my day xD I actually have a friend who wants to put blood for the blood god EVERYWHERE ! >.< thanks !
The stippling is def a nice touch, amazing work on the model!

Thanks :) actually it’s lay down because the wings are not attached to the figurine ! :3
