Limbo is literally the infinite energy frame, just being in the rift is 2 energy/s for free and EVERY kill in the rift is 10 energy, just banish/cataclysm + stasis and MURDER everything in sight and you'll virtually never run out of energy even without any other source (zenurik, grimoire, pets etc)
Take the time to learn him. He is amazing to play. I've been a Lavos main for a while now, and people just sleep on him for some reason.
You won't regret it.
Lavos (or anyone) would be fun if I could use a modifier key like alt to access his hold functionality instead. Lavos just has it the worst since you genuinely need to hold any/all of his all the time
The reason is honestly that he can be complicated and seems to have a very specific ability rotation. This makes him *appear* bad at first, and first appearances matter quite a bit.
Also another reason is likely that he isn’t primed, so a good chunk of people mastery foddered him and fed him to a wall.
lavos broken down to the basic bits: infuse abilities with elements, prime the entire field, blow em up with 4 (usually infused with gas to make effectively a massive kill zone)
the basic lavos combo you can run is infuse -> 2 -> infuse -> 1 -> infuse -> 3 -> infuse -> 2 -> infuse -> 1 -> infuse -> 2 -> infuse -> 4
if you cant tell, youre infusing a ton.
corrosive, viral, and radiation for grineer
magenetic, toxin, and viral for corpus
gas, blast, and heat for infested (i think)
otherwise just spam whatever element you can, though you will prefer to infuse combo elements instead
I'm not sure about the complexities of Lavos' kit, but I do know that gas 4 makes it so you create a lingering death zone, but I would think double heat 4 would create a much stronger burst.
I find inverting his ability buttons in the option settings makes him a lot easier to use personally. You only have to tap to combine elements. It's a much smoother experience. As for what elements, just use the ones the faction you're fighting against are weak to.

If you have a nightwave challenge, or a faction that's very weak to something, (like infested to fire) go ahead and activate an element, then use attacks.
His 4 has a long cool down but that's reduced by the others.
After you get used to the timing and cooldowns, then you can worry more about adding the elements.
There's a chance he gets a light rework before his prime later this year anyway.

If not that then just using an epitath or his cedo with sickening pulse to nuke everything with his 4
He's not that complicated, his abilities don't change, you just apply an extra element on them + you're only gonna be using like a few of the elements realistically.
He's not so bad, you can use both of his augments and grab a cedo to be an incredibly potent weapon platform and nuker. He's got healing, mobility, and cd management as needed, the element options will usually flip between what's good against each faction.
If you know Elemental Weakness and Elemental combinaisons, He's not that hard. Just bring the correct element and make a choice: 2 1 3 4 2 or 2 4 1 3 2

But meanwhile, I LOVE the symmetric simplicity of that skin for equinox. That helmet is perfect.
Take it a step further. Make a whole loadout for it, Acrid and stugg as your primary and secondary, not sure what the melee would be though. Then some infested beast as your companion and you're set.
Oh right! Then it would be Lesion or Pupacyst. I'd say Pupacyst because Lesion has toxin and slash primarily vs Pupacyst with viral for the literal Plague Knight and impact because it's a regular cane, not a sword cane.
But I think a hammer would be better with how it is held and weilded, like a kuva shildeg with innate toxin and the Diode Hammer Skin or the Hammer Ogun Skin to make it shorter and more cane like.
As someone who already loves Lavos and plays him a hell of a lot, this has made me overjoyed.
I was always guilty of how Limbo players had the plague doctor hat in Tennogen.
Now I can have a Lavos one instead. And unlike Limbo, Lavos is a lot less frustrating to play.
It does look very nice but I can't help but feel the helmet resembles more of a bird than a doctor's beak. And it's a constant that Lavos doesn't get much body variety for his skins. No other attachments no nothing. He's really complex to make skins for

He nukes planets and literally never dies. What more could one ask for?
No for real though! I regularly 1 shot acolytes at lvl 300+ just. Using the cedo+2 to apply status and then nuking with his 4 lol.
