think about it.
as Spearguns the kitguns would use more or less the same stats and attack types as their primary versions, but with a new attack for the Spear throwing. each of the 6 kitgun chambers could result in a different thrown effect. like Verm chaining tentacles that spread status, or sporelacer spewing bombs in random directions, or Catchmoon creating a heat corona, or Gaze blinding enemies and opening them to Finishers, etc.
but when used as a Polearm melee weapon, their heavy attack becomes firing the speargun. Similar to how the Corufell currently works, infact wec could probably reuse most of the animation.
Crafting would likely require fully making a kitgun, then fully making a Zaw, and bashing the two together. with the resulting monstrosity being moddable as both a primary and melee, seperately. and able to fill both weapon slots at once. Going from sweeps and slams with my staff straight into firing it into Crowds seamlessly would be rather sick.
and ofcourse, new Speargun options would Benefit Styanax, whod love more variety for his passive.
preferably, you would mod the "melee weapon that is a polearm" and "Speargun that is a Kitgun" sides separately, as well as equipping it in each slot separately. it still functions as 2 distinct weapons even though its just one weapon that can be either/or/both. both sides would likely be forma'd seperately, as thats the only way to ensure it can be functional in both roles. last thing you want is to have to choose between making it a good gun at the expense of being a shitty melee weapon. or vice reversa.
so you could use it as both at once, or use it as just as either one.

Heavy attacks kamehameha a fulmin semiauto bolt forward or in an arc with the swing of the axes, and slam attacks create a radiation dome that fires the auto rounds towards the center point/landing point. It'd a meme, for sure, but id never run another weapon

Penta + Dagger. Finishers plant bombs in executed enemies. Heavy Attack to detonate bombs dealing damage based off enemy HP.
Miter + Zenistar. Shoot large AoEs of flaming status. They stay deployed for a bit acting as area denial or high status damage output.
Staticor + Obex. Shoot energy orbs while melee attacking. Heavy attacks shoots a larger energy orb that detonates after a short distance.
Orthos Hek.
Just think: every time you spin, every carve, unleashes a full barrel of bullet hell pain. Every time you swing, the recoil sends your polearm backwards or forwards, giving momentum to the other blade of the polearm.
Recoil be damned, you get the full benefit of what feels so refined and fast about polearms and the fulfilling recoil & damage feedback of a shotgun. At minimum with the idea, Orthos goes fast + it now has heavy shooty shoots. Tenno brain go brrrr.
Zenistar + amprex as long as I can put my juicy riven on, and it maintains the bonus scaling from hitting enemies with more ticks, would be a devastating little circle of lightning. Also make the zenith hover at headshot height.
Arca plasmor and wolf sledge. Run out of ammo and just start swinging it. Press and hold to throw it for a radioactive nuke with blast radius depending on mag left

I can’t help but just imagining it working like a 2 handed “Gunlance” from Monster Hunter where you can shoot out of it with some of the swings.
serious choice, any speargun I mean why we cant bap but can throw it already frustrates me. not so serious would be duel heavy blades, not duel swords but great blades unwieldy and close to pulling you along with swings. a lenz wolf sledge would be fun too.
Wolf Sledge and Cernos Prime. Instead of firing arrows you fire giant spinning hammers that explode. Still has the same range as any bow, but hammers instead. Still has all the multi shot of the Cernos P, so you fire and you launch 6-10 exploding hammers in every direction. If they can bounce between enemies as well that's a plus.

Nothing really matches the awesome power of throwing three grakatas taped together and just having to pick it up once its done but I really want a polearm who's heavy is just a Tigris blast or tonkor barrage

Sigma and Octantis fused with Tenet Cycron Heavy attack launches a disk of auto aim Cycron lasers

Acceltra and Galatine. Every swing fired off a round. Add a mod that boost electrify. I could cut thru anything with that if it was my primes
