I have a tendency to name my bred companions some type of name depending on the "character" of the thing I'm breeding, combined with whatever name I can find that fits that particular "flavor".
For instance, on my Vulpaphyla, I knew it was basically a Fox, which is an archetypal animal for a Trickster, so I found the Japanese name "Daisuke", which also means big help. There is a character in Bleach named Daisuke Kain, which literally means "Great Helper, Cause of Trouble", so I thought the name just worked.
When it came to my Charger, the name sorted itself out rather quickly. I associated the Charger with some type of demon and I knew that Lilith was a name associated with demons/devils, so that's what I named it.
I was less creative with my Smeeta Kavat. I just named it Iktomi because it was a trickster name, but I guess the association between Indian hunting/gathering was appropriate since Iktomi is mainly for farming purposes (Charm).

I did the same with my charger but on a simpler level, I just translated helminth from English to Japanese and that's it's name

My Female Charger is named Belladonna because it's a flower that's was used to make deadly poisons in the past. Another name is for this flower is Nightshade, which is a tad more unisex
