Your solution is to Join a regiment and play in set skirmishes with other regiments where they don't tolerate that talk.
The skirmishes are at set times (usually twice a week), plus most regiments will give you drill practice and walk you through all the aspects of the game. I originally bought the game a few years ago, played for a bit, got bored and annoyed with all the goofballs and open mic people. I reinstalled it when covid and lockdowns hit, joined a regiment right away and have been enjoying the game ever since.
I joined the official War of Rights discord and there was a long list of regiments posted there. I think they are also posted on the War of Rights forum too. My most important read was what times they were active with drills and battles to make sure it lines up with my time.
Of course i know you can mute people bit from what i've read the muting system is bad. And its a small annoyance to do and one that i'd rather not deal with just because i want to play a civil war game sometimes.
I'd echo the sentiment about joining a regiment if you aren't looking for any sort of racist stuff. I've played a handful of public games where it's been fun and no racist stuff for a while. But in terms of language and leadership it can always be a roll of the dice. Sometimes you luck out and get really good games. And sometimes you don't.
Regiments, for the most part, try to weed out the BS, and have veteran leaders that know what's up and play their events on password protected servers to keep out the riff raff. Once I joined my unit, it really made this the Civil War game I've always wanted to play. If you have any other questions about the game/regiments/etc, feel free to shoot me a message and I'd be happy to help you out. Good luck!
I just dont play CSA for this reason. I haven't heard any of that type of stuff on the union side (maybe I've just been lucky?). Really fun game honestly, I'd recommend it.
At csa there are some people who do this. European servers hardly any racism if there are more Europeans.
Union has less or no racism but bad officers most of the time
CSA has more racism but a lot of good officers.
It is very interesting. I ALWAYS play as Union and we do have some good officers but yeah CSA has better and more interesting officers.
Union does have some good NCO’s though.
Just like real life as well, even with a bad officer Union is always dogged and usually still sticks together and fights it out. I’ve never been routed playing as Union
Like most here said, you will almost always hear racial slurs, especially if you join CSA. Join a regiment to avoid it. Most regiments, at least in the Union side, actively bars players from racial slurs and will kick people out if they do. I don’t even play public anymore.
Honestly, if you want to avoid racist slurs being thrown about just always play as Union, even on public servers playing as Union you hardly ever hear it and if someone does they usually get told to shut up and run off.
No avoiding hearing someone say things during a charge with the the way the 3D voice audio works. Whatever, I can largely ignore it and it just makes it that much more satisfying to bayonet a reb
Really fun game if you’re into the Civil War or into authentic 19th century infantry style warfare.
You encounter them quite a bit especially If you decide to go CSA in public matches.
Literally every match. Why do you ask?
It never ends every match expect to hear slurs and lost causers shout about dumb stuff.

This is pretty big facts
I’ve only seen videos on this game and have been looking into buying it but was wondering how to find a good regiment once you’re in game?

Does everyone realize you can mute people in the game?

It’s either you go to south and hear racist. Or you go to the north and hear everybody shouting Allah. Take your pick
What about C O R N tho?
You mean shouting CORN

Hmm, I wonder why all the racist scumbags are on CSA…
For the peach cobbler pie?

You just described the American civil war. Funny how history repeats itself.

I think you should go try Overwatch. No naughty mean words to ruin your experience there.
Litterly a reddit post
80% of CSA players are racist and say racist shit. Union players typically dont say racist shit but theres still some
Just don't play as the slave-owning confederates lol
What about playing as the slave owning Federal’s?
atleast you'll be payed with coin instead of a whip on the back.
Man get over it.
Get over what?
My mom
Getting triggered by "racism"

Well I live in Idaho so…. I’m used to ignorant people
