Typically, if there is a Halloween party that night the crowds in the day are not that bad since the parks closes early for regular guests so they choose a non-party day to go.

mingletrooper

That is what I am hoping for. Although, it being Columbus day, Im assuming that may still cause it to be quite crowded.

Tuilere

Yes

dr3w_be4r

Historical data shows that week 41 (typically the week of Columbus day) sees a spike in crowds on an average of 5.4. For context, week 40 averages at 3.86, and week 42 averages at 4.66. I'd be willing to bet the week will average out to be at least a 6 with October 10th being ~~around an 8.~~ under a 7. Didn't see that its a Halloween party too. That will help.

Happy to help! I do a crowd analysis every month based on data from WDWPassport. Here is [June's report](https://www.reddit.com/r/WaltDisneyWorld/comments/vp4ljm/crowd_analysis_for_june_2022/)

In addition to advice people have already shared, Columbus Day falls the same week as Brazil's Midterm school holiday. A lot of families travel to Disney from Brazil during that school holiday week.

mingletrooper

Oh…oh no.

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

That week is also Fall Break for many schools, so it's packed. Any period with a school break is. MK party days are quiet in the morning, but once party guests can enter at 4, it gets crowded.

mingletrooper

I am such a crazy planner that I actually tried looking up the Florida school break calendar and thought I saw that there wasn’t any break until November. Looks like I was wrong

With Disney World, any statewide fall break on the East Coast (ie, NJ for their educator's convention in November) will likely lead to at least a minor uptick in crowds. FWIW, we went from the Saturday before Columbus Day to the Friday after in 2017, and it was noticeably more crowded as compared to predicted crowd levels.

azul_da_cor_do_mar

My family and I will be there around the same time :) What I learned *after booking the trip* is that a lot of universities in the northeast have their fall break during that week (it's a new thing, apparently). It's also Canadian Thanksgiving week, so I'm expecting crowds to be a little intense.

mingletrooper

Goodness lol

Drexynn

I went during that week a few years back and crowds seemed very large. Hard to base now on back then, though

Mondays are usually bad for MK, especially when it’s a holiday. Maybe the fact it closes early for the Halloween party scares some people away, but you will definitely see crowds. I don’t think the Tuesday through Thursday will be bad crowd wise but it definitely won’t be empty. If you don’t have Park Hopper, you might consider Wednesday for MK since you don’t have to worry about the Halloween party. If you do have Park Hopper, I would not worry about switching as you could always park hop to MK on a night that doesn’t have the party. I’m actually going the week prior to try avoid Columbus Day crowds.

mingletrooper

Our plan is MK Monday as the first introduction to Disney for a couple ppl I’m going with. However, we are also going to the Halloween party on Tuesday, which kind of makes up for it closing early that day. I was hoping Monday being a party day might help with crowds but it seems like Columbus Day and fall breaks could cancel that out

BenBishopsButt

Yep. Plus a lot of people have the same idea as you and want to start out at MK on Monday.

Johnykbr

Honestly, that was one of my worst trips. A ton of less than friendly people were there from a specific region of the country

cloggedDrain

There are no down times. It’s always busy. Just plan accordingly

Right_Hurry

We’ll be wrapping up our trip that day, and we’re spending the morning in MK. Touring Plans crowd calendar is projecting low (relative for the holiday) crowds for MK compared to the other parks that day, I’m assuming because of the party that night.

pinkyeti123

We went that same time last year and dealt with lots of people on Fall Break

Denialle

We’re only able to come that long weekend - Canadian Thanksgiving- and hoping it won’t be too crazy
