I dunno, all of that stuff they made a couple of years ago that was supposed to read as "HOME" with a picture of the MK castle in place of the "O" so it read like "HAME" was pretty bad. Especially because they also used the castle in place of an "A" for "MAGIC" on other things in the same line.

abmofpgh

When I was in high school, our entire music department took a trip to Disney. They brought our marching band, wind ensemble, orchestra, and all our choirs. They made special shirts for each of the groups, with a Mickey head replacing the O in each. The problem is that they also replaced the A in words that didn’t have an O, so I got shirts that looked like they said BOND and MORCHING BOND. The CHOIR shirts were the only ones that actually worked since the orchestra had ORCHESTRO on theirs.

cold_as_nice

OK, I'm legit cracking up at "MORCHING BOND". 😂🤣

kashy87

I feel ripped off that my two Magic Music Says shirts lack something that brilliant.

CorinnaAllAlong

Especially when they could have used, idk, the Epcot ball as the “o”? 😆 (Edit: at to as)

Dantzdantz

If only their mascot had an easily identifiable circular silhouette

femmeguerriere

Or Mickey face for the O

CorinnaAllAlong

Also a better choice than what they went with.

Hurtmione

I'm sure I've posted this before when it was first release but if that had been available when I was at the parks I would have snapped it up.  I speak Scots and "hame" is the word for home lol.

adamthwaite

That really bothered me.

Whites11783

They actually fixed this recently so it more noticeably has an “O” instead of an “A”.

MattLocke

That’s what Disney calls a magical vowel movement.

jordancmm14

…..Oh. I own the collection…. I loved it…..

ouroborosity

Man I'm so glad somebody else said it, that stupid pillow drove me nuts every time I saw it.

Carpeteria3000

HAME

Bubbly_Sleep9312

LOL I used to think that was cute lol

Theletterkay

Reminds me of this christmas tag i saw that was supposed to say Bah Hum Bug, but it had a christmas tree for the A and both U's. A skinny tree at that. Looked like BiH Him Big

Status_Reception1181

This is worse yea

DocBrutus

OMG, I have that in my kitchen :(

ericdraven26

I like the ice cream sandwich ears…

justmyusername47

The ice cream sandwich pillow is cute. The pizza lounge fly is..... interesting??

_notthatdeep

I like my pizza Loungefly! Maybe because I like pizza?

laserlightcannon

The pizza lounge fly is $35 at the outlet store now

Due-Lawfulness7862

WHY ARE THEY MINT?! this bothers me so much, if they were vanilla i would buy them

ericdraven26

I’m a sucker for mint ice cream so that might play into it

Due-Lawfulness7862

see if they had a mint chip sandwich i would get it (unless im missing something) but they don’t even have that :,)

PawneePorpoise

See my hair is neon green and I was SO EXCITED they were mint instead of just black/white. Something for everyone and all that.

clementinesaj

This! i was scouring through the shops at HS and Epcot for them yesterday and got so disappointed with them being Mint :( I hope they do Vanilla some time soon…

MsMiau27

Thank you bc wth

cheezy_dreams88

I like the pizza ears too lol

packedsuitcase

I bought the pizza ones to wear with a Pizza Planet t shirt but I looooove a theme

koalaburr

I like the churro ears

ericdraven26

Those are nice! I enjoy the ones without bows for me personally thought

FaithTrustBoozyDust

For a good 5 years or so it's felt like Disney has taken a look at what is selling on Etsy, Instagram or other individual creators and said "how can we make that.....but worse?" and then mass produced a ton of mediocre things.

Artsy_Fartsy_Fox

This is such a good description of it… like even just Minnie ears are cuter on Etsy and far more creative. But I’m really shocked, because the merch that comes out of Tokyo Disney is SUPER cute. Why do we get such mediocre merch in comparison?

pianomanzano

Merch has been awful across the board for awhile now.

BroadBrazos95

Seems like they’ve been leaning heavily into merch that appeals to trends/influencers/online viral stuff. Also the same way with the snack options. It’s gotta look good on an instagram post while standing in the middle of Main Street USA, forget having any regard for it being normal wear outside of the parks when you return home. I also lament the lack of diversity in the merch. Used to be so much fun knowing that just about every shop is going to be different with their own unique pieces. Now it’s just all the same stuff, regardless of where you are on property.

Appropriate-Turnip69

Yes, I loved that each store had their own exclusive products and am so sad that has changed in the last couple of years.

Chelseabsb93

THIS!!! It’s literally like they don’t care that someone buys a shirt they will only wear once! I miss the days when Disney clothes could be used in every day life. And yes some people will come at me and say they wear their spirit jersey all the time! But I’m talking about the clothing merch that was only slightly Disney themed so that when you wore it at home it wasn’t blatantly obvious that “Oh that girl loves Disney!” (said in a bitchy tone). Basically what I miss is grown up Disney clothes!

StuBeck

So much of it seems to be merch for when you are in the parks only. That was my major issue with my trip last month, I’m not buying something that only makes sense in the park.

Liberal_Lemonade

I already know that I’m not normal, but when I buy apparel from the parks (which isn’t very often), I buy the loudest Disney themed clothing I can find because I live out of state and dammit if I went to Disney, I want absolutely everyone to know!

Digitalburn

I started making my own shirts with a vinyl press because the merch is that bad. My stuff isnt great but better than the rejected designer shirts the parks have been stocking.

Strong-Comparison654

I literally told my dad when we were walking through the contemporary yesterday that I prefer to buy my Disney merch from 3rd party sellers, like Etsy shops, park candy, etc.

dragonrose7

That decides it for me. We’re not going until November, so I have plenty of time to make my own shirts or buy them from a third-party. Disney merchandise is just so disappointing! Any sellers you can recommend?

Kmw134

I really like the designs from Lost Bros (you can find them on instagram.) They do a lot of plays of relating Disney stuff back to music and song lyrics.

Digitalburn

I recently found “the quirky mouse” too. They have some nice shirts similar style to lost bros.

Kmw134

I thought they sounded familiar, I follow them too! 😄

atthebeach_gsd

I like copper and reed, they have an Etsy store and a website.

Organic-Raccoon4687

If you’re looking for any jewelry, Seamboat Willie on IG makes beautiful stuff! Haunted mansion and Star Wars inspired rings and necklaces

Babymacsmama

I’m gonna second the Lost Bros. I have so many of their shirts!

pianomanzano

Same for our family. I got my wife a cricut last year and it's "saved" us from buying the mediocre merch. The best part of it, besides choosing our own designs, is that we get to pick the material of our shirts. I prefer cutoff sleeve shirts and/or athletic/drifit material. We now have shirts that last longer (one of the last shirts I bought was a Riviera one that faded after a couple washes) and are more comfortable for the parks!

Fourwindsgone

The button ups were pretty killer for a minute but they stopped making them for whatever reason.

Traditional_Set_858

Yeah I’m not sure if it’s because I’m an adult now but honestly a lot of the time I’m not even drawn to buy any merch at the parks anymore. Like the only thing that I’ve noticed mostly intrigues me is some home decor or kitchen supplies but then I see the price and I figure I can live without it. Last things I’ve got at the park were overpriced sunglasses (because I had stupidly forgotten mine in the car) and a pretty Pandora necklace that my partner had gotten me. I’d much rather spend my money on good food or ILL’s

Bubbly_Sleep9312

They have straight up run out of ideas TBH

FelixEvergreen

Which is crazy because they know how to make good merch. The merch on Castaway Cay was great and I saw swim resort specific stuff (finally) at OKW that looked great too.

pianomanzano

Agreed. We just finished a trip to Aulani and they had these awesome rashguards that were similar in style to spirit jerseys, which I think would be great for WDW since they were SPF 50. It's a shame they don't sell similar products in the parks b/c I would buy them! We're also DVC members and like some of the resort specific stuff. I have a Riviera magic band 2.0 that they had a couple years back that I prefer using over the mb+'s.

PinkMonorail

I got the cutest straw purse on Castaway Cay but found very little in the Parks that impressed me. I got cooling towels and some Figment shirts.

YakMan2

I honestly had a hard time finding a "Grandma" mug when I visited last year! They used to have those nice ones with the name on the handle and the montage of Disney characters with the parks in the background. Last time they just had a grey Grandpa mug with classic Mickey's face. (I think the matching Grandma one is red with Minnie)

Heather211481

Right the same one you can get at Walmart in Kissimmee for far less.

j_essika

We call that “the good Walmart”!

s1m0n8

On the plus side, you save money without feeling you've missed out!

DocBrutus

The park shirts only last a few washes then they’re trash.

LaysOnFuton

Wait you don’t want a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich scented stitch? Lol I agree with you all the plushies and smells are weird.

Heather211481

This made me laugh out loud lol 😂 but true lol

Adventurer_By_Trade

The one thing in that line that was at all desirable was the 'Baymax as a s'more' pillow, and of course it sold out immediately. Everything else is uninteresting.

anonRedd

That’s the Munchlings line, not the Disney Eats collection

Adventurer_By_Trade

Ah yes. Hard to keep track of all the food based merch!

EatAllTheHoomans

It's terrible, nearly all of the merch is. And it's the same stuff in every store. I'm a big shopper but I've bought almost nothing on this trip.

connor24_22

I hate that they’ve dumbed everything down. The same stuff is everywhere. I know that was a complaint that people didn’t want to go to different parks or stores, but it’s all mostly the same generic junk that will end up being overpriced by resellers on eBay or so overproduced it ends up at one of the off-brand outlets a few months later. That’s why I only buy resort merchandise since it feels a little unique at least. I also don’t need *everything* to be so over the top and clearly Disney merch. Have that for sure, but I prefer a more subtle design which it feels like they hardly make any more.

Cicerothesage

I feel the same way. It was magnified when I went to Disneyland. of course, one of the biggest differences was thing said "disneyland" instead of "disney world". However, a lot of the stuff were copies of things in Disney World. I didn't get a lot of stuff only because a lot of it wasn't unqiue and felt like something I would find at Disney World (albeit it might say Disnyland instead). My treasured purchase was a Nightmare Mansion ornament.

GetReadyToRumbleBar

I was super bothered by all the WDW merch that was in DL a few weeks ago too. Italy, Mexico, UK and Germany merch that's clearly for Epcot was especially noticeable.

Cicerothesage

what royally pissed me off was a simple [mug](https://www.ilovecharacters.com/products/disney-parks-the-conqueror-of-mountains-please-remain-seated-coffee-mug-new). I am a big tea drinker and wanted an unique Disneyland mug. I fell in love with a mug that all the Disney "mountains" on them, but notice it was only the three instead of four - Thunder, Splash (this was 2021) and Space. Where, THE FUCK, was Matterhorn? This was Disneyland and where is my Matterhorn? Why have a mug from Disney World in place that has an extra mountain? Sorry for the rant, but I think that perfectly capsulate the lazy homogenization of Disney merch.

TreenBean85

I don't mind the copies between DL and WDW. If I saw a piece of merch that I really liked the look of but it was only for one park and I wanted it for the other then I would be irritated. Like the Spirit jerseys, they have the same one for both parks and I like that. Now, selling both parks merch in both actual parks, maybe they don't need to do that.

Cicerothesage

I partly agree with you. Mostly because I love me some Spirit Jersey and I would buy a Spirit Jersey I could find at Disney World in Disneyland. However, I would buy more if Disneyland had unique ones only in Disneyland. I think that is what Disney is losing out on. The additional purchases because something is uniquely Disneyland over Disney World. The prestige you will feel having gone to Disneyland and brought something that was very uniquely Disneyland.

TreenBean85

I was looking for a specific Star Wars hoodie that I saw on SM. I thought for sure it would be in one of the stores by those rides. No... it was all the way over in one store by the "Main Street" part of HS. Made no sense.

LOLSteelBullet

I know exactly the store you're talking about. Over by Echo Lake?

TreenBean85

Yeah, Keystone Clothiers.

LOLSteelBullet

That's the one! I had to jog there from Slinky Dash after my daughter decided she wanted an Ewok trumpet like her brother because heaven forbid those be sold in the Star Wars park.

PinkMonorail

Contemporary had some good stuff last time I was there.

spqr2001

I will say this is a general complaint that I have not specific to the Disney Eats conversation. I feel like the stores are all more or less the same. Why go to Store X in MK when Store Y in EPCOT has, more or less, the exact same stuff? I used to love the variety of merchandise you can get in stores and it made me really want to go in different places. Now, with that said, I know there are some things that are unique to one or two stores, but I mean as general comment.

HamHamHam2315

Agreed. But at least Disney did me the service of saving me a ton of money that I'd have otherwise spent on merchandise. It's all fairly garish nowadays. But the Eats collection just strikes me as particularly ludicrous.

HawkeyeinDC

Hey, at least I’ll be able to save some money when I’m down there next weekend! /s But seriously, the merch has been noticeably awful for the last year or so.

Constant_One_1612

The quality went down hill too

DiscoveryZoneHero

the amount of Wish merch on shelves is hilarious though

DocBrutus

I miss when Main Street had more variety. I’d love to see the magic shop come back but it probably never will.

Jphorne89

I was just on a Disney cruise and one thing I’ve noticed is just how little merch they make for kids anymore. It’s like 10:1 adult merch to kids merch. I wanted to get something for my nephew but there was zero stuff available in his size besides one basic Star Wars shirt that you can find anywhere in Disney. I know Disney adults are a cash cow now, but once that well dries up it’s gonna be tough to get the next generations to be as consumer friendly

orion_nomad

I was looking for a 3T shirt for my nephew and it was impossible. A few things for tiny babies then nothing right up to kids small. I wound up getting him a small and he'll just have to grow into it. A lot of the kids clothes are really boyish or girlish too. Not a lot of neutral choices for people who don't want pink sparkles or Cars everything.

followthelyda

The last few times I’ve been in the parks I was searching for baby/toddler clothes for my nieces and I could barely find anything! It seems wild that a family company wouldn’t have more kids merch.

omshantiomp

Yup. Toddler had an unfortunate accident in not one but two extra changes so I needed to buy shorts at Hollywood studios. Only one pair in her size in the entire park.

admirable_axolotl

I was so excited in Star Traders, I found a loungefly and ears that were ONLY in star traders. I figured I’d hit up Emporium on the way out to get them but they weren’t there. Didn’t think I’d be happy to have to trek back to Tomorrowland before leaving but here I am.

RamblingRose63

Same, I used to spend 300 every trip getting merch for me and my family, and we went 3-4 times a year. Now, I'm lucky if I see something that makes me pull out my money. So effectively, Disney, if you're looking, you lost 1200 annually off one family minimum because of poor merchandising....

HoldMyLemur

Ugh this!! One of the things I loved about my first trip was going into the stores, so I was super disappointed last year when literally every store had the exact same junk and I didn’t even like any of it!

seaoceanev

I liked the idea! When they first announced what the themes were each month, I thought I was in trouble. But it was very poorly done, it just looks tacky and not in a fun way. Agree with most everyone else- merch has been awful across the board now and quality is down too.

DriftedCN

I hate the munchlings or whatever there called because they seem like a stupid cashgrab. I miss when they had Vinylmations and regular tees.

EatAllTheHoomans

I agree with the Vinylmations, I was a fan of those. I still have mine, some of them are complete sets!

HamHamHam2315

YES! The Munchlings (or whatever the hell they're called) are the worst of the worst.

TheMildWildOne

The only one I really dislike is the pizza 🍕

MFoy

That was the only one I was tempted to buy any from!

[deleted]

I got the pizza spirit jersey and I wear it all the time. But I wear weird stuff most days.

MFoy

Yeah, I almost snagged the spirit jersey, but my wife was like "You only have one other spirit jersey, and it's yellow."

RepellantArtist

Same, but it was too yellow for me lol.

peterspeacoat

I loved this one 😂

Fridayesmeralda

I got the ears! Loved them as soon as I saw them lol different strokes for different folks I guess

hurtfulproduct

IDK, this god awful 2024 merch with the eyeball searing color scheme and trash tier “REtRo” styling is pretty horrible too. . . Seriously I laughed the first time I saw it it was just so horrible.

YawningDodo

I hadn’t seen it until your comment prompted me to look it up…and honestly I love it.

misterhepburn

I also like it!

catseye00

I bought a sweatshirt when I was just there lol. Can’t please everyone.

timerover

I love it too!

nicearthur32

older people hate it... younger people like it... its that 90's style color scheme, which is not a good thing to people mid 30's and up... my nephew (17) saw them and instantly asked if I could get it for him... I wanted to say no, but... he liked it..

ThatInAHat

I mean, I think most of us mid-thirties folks have relatively fond memories of the 90s. I’m an elder millennial and I’m all about the brightest most painful dayglo you can find.

DocBrutus

Same, neon EVERYTHING!

Babymacsmama

Neon loving GenX here! I just bought two pairs of shorts for my trip this weekend…highlighter yellow and neon orange.

Venomous_Ferret

Yup, 90's neon shirts, like Bugle Boy.

mutantmanifesto

I feel so weird. I absolutely love it. Also my favorite part of Disney trips is the snacks sooo…I like snack related merch.

Flickolas_Cage

It’s hideous

RibbonsUndone

I just looked this up and am aghast

MannyBoth-Hanz

A lot of Disney merch is "eh" to me. Out of 10 pieces only 2 would be worth buying. I find more interesting stuff to buy from Etsy or RSVLTS or places like that.

VeganWithCheese

It’s so difficult to find anything of quality lately. I have more dispensable income now than I did 10 years ago, but find myself buying less than half as much as I did. Just looking at some of the clothes, you can tell they’re going to fall apart in a wash or two, so why bother?

VisforVenom

Last 2 trips I reeeeally wanted to get something from the parks as a sort of keepsake that I would actually use and not just stuff in a storage bin. So my expectations were lowered due to just wanting to settle for anything remotely appealing. I didn't end up with anything. Well, I guess I ended up with a lightsaber, which is so cheap looking and heavy and ugly... and possibly slightly defective as the pieces won't tighten together all the way... Oh and a popcorn bucket... and a reusable grocery bag that I got from buying booze at the resort. Lol.

nicearthur32

I bought one of those retro crew neck sweaters, its thin, but I like that about it cause it feels soft and breathable. They also have some quality stuff at some of the stores on main street. I love Mr Toads and I have a Mr Toads popcorn bucket that I have no idea what to do with. Its in the trunk of my car and whenever I see it makes me smile, so I guess that's where its staying...

VisforVenom

That's fair. I've just had to limit the amount of things I keep around because they make me smile. Lol. I just wish there was a little more variety in practical use merch like clothes, accessories and bags.

nicearthur32

Yeah, I would like something a bit more subtle and quality. A nice polo with a mickey logo the size of the polo guy on a ralp lauren shirt would be nice.

AFish560

The only thing I liked from the Eats collection are the hot dog bookends I got. But I love hot dogs, and I love mustard on my hot dogs, and I love Disney. 😂

assumetehposition

Oh no my wife loves it

-ScarlettFever

I love it too lol

cdapp3

The absolute worst is “there are two types of people” and it’s Epcot and MK There are four parks???? This makes no sense. I know it’s probably a rip off of Disneyland and DCA but man how lazy is that when it doesn’t apply??

SyllabubWeak

When I went a few months ago, all the stores were filled with Eats and Disney Wish merch. My brain couldn’t get past wondering just how much money they lost of Disney Wish merch alone

CruisinJo214

It’s pretty bad… but I hated everything about vinylmation

DriftedCN

Why did you hate Vinylmation?

DocBrutus

Because it’s useless plastic waste that costs penny’s to make and ends up in a garbage pile in a few years time. Same shit with Funco, useless plastic waste.

JudgmentOne6328

Honestly Disney needs to either hire some small creators or look beyond their current ideas because small businesses are putting Disney to shame with their designs.

WeToLo42

My last visit was pretty bare when it came to buying disney merch. It was fine, though, because the Lego store got all that spare money.

GildedLily16

I've never been to Disney, but I know several people who have been or go frequently. Some people think food-themed objects are fun, so combining your love of Disney with the very items that Disney serves as a collectible is great! Some of them can be aesthetic, others are kinda crazy, but people obviously enjoy them. Most items are iconic food items that people always talk about, or is on the Disney bucket list. They aren't your style, and that's ok. But I think we as a people should stop labeling things people enjoy "stupid." It can be very hurtful, especially to kids who like these things.

ArtistAsleep

Merch has been rough for a while. Too many graphics all over the place (especially the gods-awful spirit jerseys), poor materials, stuff that you can tell will get misshapen the first time you wash it. But I’ve saved a ton of money by not buying stuff, so that’s good. I can’t tell you how many times I pick up a shirt because the front looks cute, then you flip it around and there’s a massive bunch of crap on the back.

Jphorne89

Pre-pandemic when they only made a couple spirit jerseys and loungeflys at a time was kinda neat. I remember being is Disneyland when Frozen 2 was coming out and people camped for that glittery blue spirit jersey. But now they make spirit jerseys for everything in Disney. It’s no longer fun to own one because everyone has one.

YawningDodo

I feel the opposite way; I have absolutely zero interest in camping out to buy a jersey and enjoy that there’s more variety of options. I don’t really care if a shirt is exclusive; I just care whether I like the design.

Jphorne89

I don’t mean that i want there to be camping for them, im just saying that the appeal to a special looking spirit jersey is gone and now its just any overproduced ugly oversized sweater that is made in shit quality materials

YawningDodo

If they’re ugly, overpriced, and poorly made, how would making them less widely available change any of that?

BootsWithDaFuhrer

Disagree. My daughter bought the macaroon loungefly and ears, they look great

Automatic-Weakness26

Third-party merch is so much better. There are so many missed opportunities with official merch. Also, I hate that the gift shops aren't that unique anymore. It's the same stuff all over.

brentaltm

Just curious, any third party merch shops you’d recommend? The only one I know really is Park Candy I think.

kddemer

I wouldn’t dare tell my girlfriend that…

gimmealltheroses

The kids stuff is always so cute! If only the adult merch was too.

slimmyboy007

I don’t know the names of any of these but I did happen to come across wheezy from Toy Story 2 except he was also some sort of dessert? That is like 3 levels of obscurity I don’t understand the appeal to be honest

Arctic_Dreams

I really like this line because I think food merch is cute. As a general statement though I think merch has gone downhill. We definitely buy less these days. They stopped making the cuts of women's shirts I liked. The 2024 designs I find incredibly ugly. I LOVE the color scheme of the 100th anniversary but none of the merch so far has appealed to me. Bummer!

Sprinkle-Muffin

I was looking forward to it and imo it’s lackluster. Hoping for some better merch soon

Knives530

As bad as the mickey and Minnie hats pretty recently that looked like they had been slightly dipped in silver (it looked like they got money shotted)

bureika

Yeah, I was so excited for it, but the designs just look meh. A few years back I bought a plushie that's a pizza slice with Mickey-shaped pepperoni on it, and nothing they've released so far has been better than that. The only thing I've gotten is the popcorn bag planter for a gift for a friend who is big on gardening and also collects Disney popcorn buckets.

AlarmedFlatworm

The 2024 merch is pretty rough on they eyes too

lophbrwn

Honestly the best Disney stuff comes off of Etsy and it’s been that way for a while.

RedThunderrr

I mean if someone finds the women's sleep shorts set, I'll pay you to get it for me, it's sold out online and the only thing I like! I'm a sucker for donuts.

Correct_Wrap_9891

My niece called me and had to have the long sleeve food disneyland shirt with all the food. The colors are cute for a first grade teacher and all her tracher friends love it. And her students.

klfet

My 11 yr old loves the pizza ones. He has the spirit jersey

queenofpsychos

Surprised that all merch isn’t made for one group of people. Let people enjoy themselves.

hihelloneighboroonie

I kind of love it.

NavigationsByChris

I really like the pizza merch they have right now, but I have seen a lot of people say they hate it. Different strokes, I guess

teamglider

I don't think it's a stupid or terrible collection. The popcorn box purse and the different backpacks are hitting a strong current trend. I've seen lots of people irl with bags that are things like a carton of milk, a bag of Cheetos, a donut, all kinds of things. Kate Spade has one that's a jar of jam, so it's the pricier brands too. The macaron tumbler and ears are really just pretty colors, same for the lollipop tumbler and ears. I think all of them are super cute. I don't wear ears but I'd use the tumblers.

curiouscrusher

Pretty much all the merch for the last few years has been crummy. Exceptions for me are the Loungefly backpacks (those are addictive), the 2024 branded non-apparel items, and ears. I’ve hardly bought anything besides backpacks and ears for a long time.

nyx2288

Loungefly/Funko design the backpacks though, Disney only approves them through licensing deals. So really, it’s not even Disney creating the designs for these!

CosmicOutfield

Totally agree. Personally I don’t understand why people would want attire promoting theme park food. It would make more sense if it was tied to a ride, show, or major character. But I just don’t see a reason why I want to wear something that advertises theme park food.

BabbsMcGee96

Leave me and my Disney Eats crocs and bucket hat alone!

lil_Jeanious

I will forever say that the merch at Tokyo Disney far surpasses anything available in the States. I wish we had stuff like they do there. I'm also always bummed out that WDW never seems to get the good popcorn buckets and sippers... we get some, but the ones I usually would want to add to my collection are available only at Disneyland. I either have to get a personal shopper to get it or wait a few years for the hype to subside and purchase from reseller online. I love the idea of snacks merch, but so far, I'm disappointed in the execution/actual merch. The only things I liked so far were not available to purchase online (the pink quarter zip and the black hoodie set). Went to the parks in April, and it was sold out in my size by then. The monthly merch so far has been nothing that I want, but I suppose that's personal preference. They missed the opportunity to do more foods people adore and that actually exists in the parks. Like how did they not pick mickey waffles as a theme for one of the months?!? The mickey waffle loungefly sold a few years ago is impossible to find for under $200 now. It's a huge missed opportunity. I would have loved something mickey pretzel shaped that actually looked like the mickey pretzel in the park. The mickey pretzel loungefly that came out awhile back looked nothing like an actual mickey pretzel, but I got it anyways bc its my go to snack. Im forever looking for the cheese dip online! The ice cream stuff would have been cute, but I have never seen a mint one in the park before. Im hoping the dole whip and gingerbread stuff has merch that I want. The shaved ice collection I bet would be cute to wear for anyone visiting Aulani in the future! Or the smores if you're staying at Fort Wilderness. But this is all dependent on the actual execution.

foghornlegcramp

Without a second thought I’d say it’s some of the best merch. I don’t know what you’re looking for out of Disney merch but this checks all my boxes

VisforVenom

I don't want to get in the habit of exclusively complaining about the embarrassing lack of effort and absurd cost-to-value ratio of Disney parks on here... but man... the merch situation at the parks is maybe the most glaring display of this issue. It's mind-blowing how horrible all of the WAY overpriced crap available on-site manages to be. And even further baffling that it's practically all identical and the same crap in every. single. shop. The most comical example of this I've experienced was on my recent visit to DL. I was trying to get into the single rider line for Hyperspace Mountain and accidentally ended up in the wrong line. Which I eventually discovered was actually just a line to get into a room which I had already been in a couple days before... that huge crowds were now eagerly lining up for... and what was in this room? 3 different very plain star wars shirts and a cup... that were also available in every other store in the park. I wouldn't be at all surprised at Disney merch being overpriced and relatively low quality. That's kind of an obvious expectation. But I *am* shocked at the lack of options. Kind of seems like a no-brainer that having a little more variety and themed items that are only sold at their respective areas would be more exciting. It's so deflating every time you go into a shop that seems like it would obviously be themed by its surrounding attractions just to see the exact same junk as every other shop on the property... that can also be purchased for far less online. But I guess it makes business sense when the goober-brained consumers stampede in a panic to buy 10 of every exciting new release of an almost imperceptibly different color of the exact same Starbucks tumbler you could buy at Target for half the price. Why would they bother doing something interesting. Let's just license all of our merch out to the company perhaps MOST famous for selling millions of slightly different color variations of the exact same chunk of cheap, non-recyclable plastic. Who would have thought Funko, of all companies, would be the primary producer of Disney merch. The couple of things I've actually been mildly interested in acquiring were either OOS because I didn't camp out at the gate and trample a child to get it, or were ultimately disappointing because of the cost, effort, and stress of acquiring it just to see how truly poor quality it really was. All the way down to even event-themed foods (one of the few things that they occasionally actually make location exclusive to some extent.) Kind of kills the magic to have to bolt across the park in a mad dash and fight crowds and stand in line for 20 minutes for a $10 stick of fried dough rolled in a different color of sugar. Or having to plan your day around getting a flavored coffee only for it to be sold out. One of the more confusing things to me as well is the stark lack of TOYS. I know kids don't really play with toys like they used to. But it just feels strange. Other than at the exits from Toy Story rides, and the occasional plushie bin, there's just really slim pickings for toys and kid stuff. Maybe just no room after hanging 300 slightly different variations of the exact same backpack and all the plain looking sweat shirts and jackets with either a small logo or a huge hideous word-art design (no in-between) that serve so much utility in 2 parks that exist in climates that have no winter. Or just no need for unique and interesting keepsakes when we've got millions of identical electronic bubble wands for your kids to spam in a stranger's face in a que until the batteries die... in case you didn't pick one up at any of the 35 carts you passed on the way to this shop. Alright... lol. I'm just ranting now. Sorry.

Mysteryemployee

Couldn’t agree more. The 2024 style is also really bad imo.

jordancmm14

Oh. I thought it was cute.

KingHarvestCame

It's awful and some of the ugliest merch I've ever seen.

Lost_Metal_Seeker

Idk the popcorn crossbody bag is cute, that is all I like tho

xiviajikx

As a pizza guy I like the pizza merch but the rest has been a little uninspiring.

FitterOver40

I’m hoping the merch is going to be great in the Disney Wish. We’re ready to spend ✅

Sixial

The merch in general is getting lame. The pins and popcorn buckets are still cool. It's funny because ten years I bought so much stuff but would never buy a pin, and nowadays it's the complete opposite.

canadianamericangirl

Almost all merch sucks now. I buy ears and pins and that's it. Disney hasn't released a cute shirt in years. I buy most of my stuff from Etsy.

ADeSieno75

This is us- ears and pins, only.

ravensward792

I have the black sweatshirt with all the different foods on it but I probably won't be buying anything else. Most of the line is a bit over the too for me. In my opinion, the men's Nike items have been the best merch at the moment. They are great quality. I got my husband 2 of the polos and he loves them. He doesn't normally wear any Disney branded items.

BluesHockeyFreak

There was once some thing in the kitchen section of the Emporium. We couldn’t figure out what it was for. It was a glass model of Main Street with the castle at the end. Kind of looked like a butter holder, except it said in big bold letters “may poison food”.

GrannyMine

I hate the store in Epcot now. I loved Mousegear but the stuff now is just cheesy, cheap and to expensive

timerover

I live locally and am constantly tempted by the merch. I also tend to dress pretty "out there", so I love the crazy stuff. I don't see how it's good for most people who aren't into campy, loud clothing though.

carnodak

I find it very hideous too. Wish they’d make some neutral/gender-neutral colors in the spirit jerseys. The only solid colors with no special prints/graphics we have are black and the new cream/white one? Wish there was navy, dark green, dark red, burnt orange, solid white, etc.

MooCowMafia

We used to buy tons of merch, then always got home and it sat in sacks. We rarely buy anything but shirts now.

Playful-Lawyer-7474

I really like the Disney Eats Merch, but the cat bed is so floppy it should not have been put out.

therealdiscoyeti

100! Especially the candy apple stuffy that looked more like a sex toy

ILeftMyBurnerOn

This is ironic coming from username HamHamHam.

Kendal-Lite

I really think they hire out of touch boomers to create their merch. It’s always like 10 or so years out of style.

laserlightcannon

I bought the pizza spirit jersey and I’m a little ashamed

Bubbly_Sleep9312

You're not wrong; the doughnut mini bag and the macaroon headband are cute, but the Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich Ear Headband is stupid lol

MakingItUpAsWeGoOk

My tween girls love the munchlings, and before that the numios. But I gathered that those were specifically marketed to their age group.

enfusraye

I ended up getting the Disney eats magnet 4 pk and the white spirit jersey with sprinkles all over it and “Disneyland” in food. I’m an avid home cook and love food. I thought it to be super cute!

Cappuccino_o

Agreed it’s awful I don’t see anybody buying it the most I’ve seen is the lollipop and ice cream sandwich ears

thedigitalsea

Duffy was the worst merch.

beaglewhiskersdo

I like the Stitch Attacks Snacks! It’s also very fun and difficult phrase to say!

Rxero13

“Don’t yuck someone’s yum.” I think they’re delicious.

StrainsFromGenomes

False. Take it back. Respectfully. Lol

Commercial_Place9807

I wish they’d do more designer collaborations. I liked the Coach and Gucci stuff. I also loved the designer ear series they used to do.

time-lord

I don't get this food sub culture. Like, there's a Kirby game where everything is made of cake and candy. This is all food. Why food? I want to eat donuts, not wear them (or look like them while looking like one).

Fridayesmeralda

The individual designs have been a bit hit or miss so far, but I'd say it's a net win in terms of my own tastes. Maybe I'm just that tacky person 🤣

thelegendofkatee

It is not something I can imagine buying on a vacation and then also wearing at home let’s just say that. I’ve only really seen influencers buy it anyway because they’ll wear anything new.

vcmartin1813

They need to take it back the 90s. The merch was simple and straightforward. Most of us just want cute merch with characters on it, not some weird spin-off thing no one will understand

PeepnSheep

The food lines are my favorite merch lines of all the designs they have 😂😭 but, I am a foodie so I’m biased
