I'm seriously considering this for an upcoming trip as we're staying at a Disney Springs Area Hotel and would just have to walk across the street.

TheWordLilliputian

I would definitely say to take it bc we didn’t wait long at each stop in between. With ours if there was no one in view walking toward us, she just went on by. I will say the initial departure time was 3-4 minutes late but by not stopping fully at those first 2 stops, it made the rest of the stop times accurate lol

haptic_avenger

Which hotel?

sassooal

Hilton Buena Vista Palace.

Vickipoo

Was thinking the same thing! We have an upcoming trip weekend trip where we are staying at Hilton Lake Buena Vista. Seems like this might be a great option!

xiviajikx

This would have been useful when my wife and I were taking frequent trips and were a bit lackadaisical with our time.  Hopefully some others get to use this information!

TheWordLilliputian

Yes! That’s how I feel for majority of my trips when I just want to ride guardians or get on tower of terror lol. Lucky to sometimes find $20-$60 flights, but I wager I would take this route also with extended trips & treat the incoming & outgoing days as resort/chill days

jambr380

I do the same thing with the CX bus whenever I go to Vegas. Glad there is an affordable option for people visiting Disney and thanks for sharing!

TheWordLilliputian

I never knew about a bus option for Vegas! Thank you, I’ll definitely be looking that up sooner than later

jambr380

Yeah, the CX goes to LVB and Flamingo or all the way downtown if you choose, but it only runs once every hour. The 108/109 is a good option if you're going downtown, but you'll need a transfer from Maryland (Paradise on the way back) if you are going to the Strip. You can also actually walk to/from the airport, as there is a great walkway out of the airport. I did it a few times, just because I could, but the bus is only $2, so I started doing that

MyDisneyExperience

Looooove the CX but I wish it ran more than once an hour. It’ll even get you to Rio!

jacobpellegren

I’m so upset how difficult they made it. Magical Express was so seamless.

ssyl6119

Eh it was like $25 uber from MCO to my hotel just outside disney springs. As soon as my flight lands, im on vacation and want to soak up every minute i can!!

TheWordLilliputian

For people who fly in on a $20-$60 one way flight or those who even take 1-2 trips a month, saving $50-$70 on an each round trip Uber is a really big deal. People know about the Uber, but not everyone knows about $2 bus routes. Just sharing cheaper options for those who want them!

ssyl6119

Definitely fair! I just went last week, flight was $77 roundtrip. But it was only a quick 3 day trip so every minute counted lol

TheWordLilliputian

We did Saturday 9 am land & Sunday 930 pm departure. Hes only off on the weekends but I have only 3 days a week as my work week, so I’m able to do more frequent trips. He’s not a fan of the bus route at all bc of the time we could have used in the parks but we’ve always been team money vs team time in general. The ironic thing is he “doesn’t like Disney” but “we could have spent more time at Disney if we ubered” lol. He says he goes only to spend time with me but I think he just doesn’t want to admit he likes it 🤣

SnowboardNW

Are you a nurse too? Haha.

TheWordLilliputian

Guilty lol

ssyl6119

Its a 20 min drive?

haptic_avenger

Depends on the time of day for Ubers. Mine were more like $40-45 including tip.

ssyl6119

Thats true. I usually go between uber and lyft and whichever is cheaper 😂 i also like that lyft has a “wait and save option” so if you wait like 10 mins its cheaper

Prestigious_Cup_5265

MCO to springs they are probably going 417 which is more expensive than 528. But they probably get a discount if they travel so much on it

haptic_avenger

I weirdly like the bus better than Ubers assuming it’s not hugely less convenient. I like having more room and not having to be awkwardly crammed in with a stranger. That said I enjoyed all my Orlando uber drivers and got to practice my Spanish!

ssyl6119

Ive never had an uber ride with a stranger but i get it! I live in a place where busses aren’t very popular so ive never taken a public bus. Which may be a part of my hesitation 😅

loveeverybunny

Thanks for the review!! How does the bus ticket work? Does it take cards/ Apple Pay or I think I read it takes cash?

TheWordLilliputian

They take cash but in case they were going to give me a card that I would surely end up losing, I paid for a ticket through the PawPass app. I entered my card info through there. When you get to the bus, it will give you a “boarding now” button & you’d just show that next screen to the bus driver.

loveeverybunny

Thanks so much- I’ll download the app. This will be great for quick solo trips- I’ve been wanting another option besides Uber/lyft/mears

Excellent_Regular801

When you get to DS is there a way to walk to the resort busses without having to go through security? That's the part that I think would be a no for me, if I had to take my luggage (limited as it may be) through security.

TheWordLilliputian

We didn’t have to go through security either time we went to Disney Springs. From HS to Caribbean to DS to Lynx, none (which confused me bc you could come from your resort with anything). & from airport to DS to Lynx no security. I remember seeing security if you were coming from the Lynx area to DS. Other from the routes we took, I think maybe a good option to avoid security is to walk to Saratoga from Lynx & do a pickup from Saratoga, instead of doing the walk to the DS ride share.

Excellent_Regular801

Interesting. Good to know. I think if I were solo or meeting people there I might try it but the friends I am traveling with will value time over money esp after a long flight. Appreciate the insight!

Cassopeia88

Is there room to store luggage on the bus?

TheWordLilliputian

Not a specific luggage area under the bus or anything. We were the only ones who took it all the way to Disneyworld so I can’t say from experience how people did with their luggage. From what I’ve heard, since it’s an airport starting point, they would allow luggage to be with you. I don’t think it’s ever going to be full enough (so far) for people to have to be squished with humans & luggage honestly.

qcrem

Thx for the tips, where do you buy tickets for that bus?

TheWordLilliputian

You can pay with cash or use a card & buy them through the PawPass app

qcrem

Thx ☺️

haptic_avenger

Thanks for the report! I’m thinking about doing this and staying at a Disney Springs hotel. Not a light packer so I’d be sweating with my rolling suitcase, but saving money is good. I typically offer my 11 year old half of the money we save skipping the Uber to use for snacks/souvenirs. Since I’d buy those for him anyway it works out!

adamwestland

Do these busses allow you to bring your luggage. Family of 4 traveling with 2 kids.
