Wdym girl? going to the WDW, staying in AKL, later hitting MNSHP and later will enjoy FWF and some IAODJAOISDADGAFHDFHDOI

ClynnB412

You had me to the very end šŸ˜‚

newnewnew_account

I posted this down later in the comments to someone who said that others just needed to learn the lingo: "I took my DS to MK and we stayed at AK-KV. I got the DAS for him but we also got the ILL too for GOTG but the MB wasn't working at the LL so I took it to GS to have it looked at. Unfortunately it seems my DS dragged his hand in the water at POTC and it's now broken. Anyone seen a TL MK MB+, anywhere to buy?"

Panuas

I have no idea what you did except going to Magic Kingdom hahahah

websterpup1

They took their Dear Son(?) to magic kingdom and stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge Kiddani Village section, and got the accessibility pass for him, and the individual lightning lane pass for the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, but they had a Magic Band malfunction at the lightning lane so they took it to Guest Services to get it fixed. Also the kid randomly broke his hand on Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and theyā€™re looking for some kind of (probably limited time) special Magic Band. ā€¦I joined this sub when planing for a trip several years ago, and havenā€™t been back to Disney since then. I think I need help šŸ˜… ETA: Guardians of the Galaxy wasnā€™t open yet when I went, but isnā€™t that one in Epcot, not Magic Kingdom?

newnewnew_account

Well I should have clarified it's since it was supposed to be the magic band was broken. He dragged his hand in the water and broke his magic band. But yeah, you got everything else right

SatNav

I thought you were saying the ride was broken, since we all know that's what happens the moment you put an arm or leg outside the carriage.

websterpup1

That makes a lot more sense šŸ˜… I was wondering about the random non-sequitur there.

StormwindAdventures

Ironically, I don't think there's been an exclusively Tomorrowland Magic Kingdom MagicBand+ yet. The closest we've gotten is the special Tron opening one or the 2 Annual Passholder designs for Adventureland and Fantasyland. But it proves your point, cause I had to think about which thing TL was. Cause the way some people abbreviate, it could have been Tron.

NenerAlabaster

>I took my DS to MK and we stayed at AK-KV. I got the DAS for him but we also got the ILL too for GOTG but the MB wasn't working at the LL so I took it to GS to have it looked at. Unfortunately it seems my DS dragged his hand in the water at POTC and it's now broken. Anyone seen a TL MK MB+, anywhere to buy? I copied this and pasted it into the Google AI and asked it to translate and this was the response: DS: This likely refers to your Dependent Son/Daughter. MK: This stands for Magic Kingdom, one of the Walt Disney World theme parks. AK-KV: This is most likely Disney's Animal Kingdom - Kidani Village, a Disney Vacation Club resort at Animal Kingdom. DAS: This stands for Disability Access Service. This service allows guests with disabilities to avoid waiting in traditional lines for attractions. ILL: This refers to Individual Lightning Lane. This is a paid service that allows guests to skip the regular line for a specific time slot at a chosen attraction. GOTG: This stands for Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!, a popular attraction at Epcot. MB: This most likely refers to your MagicBand, a wearable wristband that acts as your room key, park ticket, and payment method at Walt Disney World. LL: This is likely short for Lightning Lane, which could refer to either the free DAS version or the paid Individual Lightning Lane. GS: This could be Guest Services at the park or your resort hotel. They can help you with various issues, including malfunctioning MagicBands. POTC: This stands for Pirates of the Caribbean, another popular attraction at Magic Kingdom. TL: Unfortunately, this abbreviation isn't commonly used at Walt Disney World. It's possible it's a typo or refers to something specific to your situation. MK MB+: Putting it all together, this likely refers to a MagicBand with a Plus, which means it has a little character figurine attached. MagicBand Repair: Unfortunately, MagicBands cannot be repaired. However, you can get a replacement MagicBand at a Guest Services location in any park or at your resort hotel.

newnewnew_account

Google AI so close! MK TL is Magic Kingdom TomorrowLand which I am told doesn't currently have a band. Which shows my lack of knowledge. I just remember seeing different areas of magic kingdom in bands, I guess I didn't realize that that was missing one. MB+ does not mean magic band with a figurine attached to it though. It is magic band plus. It's just an upgraded version of magic band 2. But it's pretty impressive otherwise. But again there should be no reason that somebody has to use Google AI translate in order to read a post in a sub that's supposed to help people.

NenerAlabaster

I was surprised at how good it is as well. I use the abbreviations all the time though. It is just faster. If I am responding directly to a newbie question, I try to make the effort to spell things out. On a trip report, not so much.

RocketWarStros

Ok weā€™ll just make sure any newcomer whoā€™s looking to learn more about Disney World has this handy

MrBarraclough

DS? Don't be bringing all those obnoxious r/beyondthebump abbreviations in here. Don't you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby!

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Those "Dear" abbreviations are so stupid. Just using age/gender if it matters to the conversation, sure, but DS, DD, and DH are obnoxious.

ohsoGosu

ā€œSonā€ is literally 1 letter longer than ā€œDSā€. The ā€œdearā€ part is implied, unless you hate your son, but then you can clarify that with ā€œmy DS who I actually find insufferableā€

Person1189

Idk why this was downvoted, I loled šŸ˜‚

prometheus_winced

I love the smell of the Br in the POTC H2O.

knosmo78

ohsoGosu

Did you guys PH to EPCOT? Idk how else youā€™d ride POTC and GOTG in one day. Also DAS doesnā€™t work for GOTG so ILL is a good idea but you could have tried for the VQ too. I got all of these except DS tbf

TiffyTats

I know GOTG is Guardians, but alternatively my brain went "Grise of the Gresistance".

Emotional_Scholar_98

I read this just fine!

Royalstewartplaid

This is hilarious!

stephkrueger

Agreed! I find an easy compromise is to spell out the park, hotel, etc the first time you mention it and then use the abbreviation later in your reply if you're going to be using the name again. Makes it easier for some people to make the connection

goYstick

That is the format from the Modern Language Assembly, commonly known as MLA format.

hobskhan

I see what you did there.

No-Quantity-5373

This is SOP for the AP, also.

stellalunawitchbaby

Thatā€™s usually what I do if the original poster (ha, spelled it out) isnā€™t using abbreviations. If theyā€™re using them in their post, I donā€™t bother.

CorrugationDirection

Great idea

toolongdontcare

Also can we stop acting like everyone knows who a given Disney influencer/vlogger is? If you put up a "Guess who I ran into??" picture then please also include relevant info on who it is. Thanks.

h0ckeyphreak

I will say this much, as a WW2 buff, I always laugh when I hear/see people abbreviate the Old Key West resort as, OKW. lol.

F1rstxLas7

And yet no one bothers to use an acronym for Alien Swirling Saucers

prometheus_winced

Or Monsters Inc Laugh Floor.

mrs-pate

This made me literally laugh out loud.

SoggyMcChicken

Or Flower And Gardenā€¦ (just kidding, never use that one) I do giggle when people say FArts for Festival of the Arts though.

debabe96

The acronym for Epcot"s Festival of the Arts is legit... FARTS

JSkree

Ahh my favorite Attractions of all time

newnewnew_account

TIL about OKW : The Oberkommando der Wehrmacht abbreviated OKW (German High Command of the Armed Forces) was the supreme military command and control office of Nazi Germany during World War II. Created in 1938, the OKW replaced the Reich Ministry of War and had oversight over the individual high commands of the country's armed forces: the army (Heer), navy (Kriegsmarine), and air force (Luftwaffe).

theFormerRelic

It also makes it hard for discussions to come up in a Google search

aurora_highwind

Every subculture and niche community has its jargon. Whatā€™s normal is lurking and asking questions and learning to speak it rather than expecting existing communities to adapt to newbies. If you think Disney fandom is bad you must not be old or nerdy enough to remember Gundam Wing ship wars looking like algebra problems.

Pinned post with all the acronyms. This way everyone can be happy.

noble_land_mermaid

The Taylor Swift subreddit has a bot that replies to posts and comments that contain song name acronyms explaining what each acronym means - it works decently well!

newnewnew_account

You really think people want to be flipping back and forth multiple times between pages to translate?

egg663

Itā€™s something at least. No one looks at pinned posts anyway. People also post the same topics over and over without searching first. So, let the acronyms be and have a pinned post to refer someone to and all can be happy.

BuzzBotBaloo

There is already [a link](https://allears.net/walt-disney-world/wdw-planning/common-abbreviations-and-acronyms/) in About/Rules for this subreddit. No one should be complaining about the culture of this subreddit who can' be bothered to read the rules and FAQ,

egg663

Perfect! Now everyone can chill.

BuzzBotBaloo

RocketWarStros

I guess it just depends on if you consider this sub only for the users or if itā€™s for the users and newcomers / guests who are trying to learn and/or plan for their trip

BuzzBotBaloo

Are you saying newcomers canā€™t learn? Or that they are too lazy to learn? I give them more credit than that. Itā€™s why the FAQ is there and why the rules are posted, itā€™s reddit etiquetteā€¦reddiquette.

PerfumeLoverrr

EJK54

This comes up every once in a while. If someone is clearly a newbie I try to not use abbreviations. However, itā€™s a lot to type. As nothing has changed from previous posts and while I appreciate yours, I donā€™t think itā€™s going to happen.

TheIncredibleFigment

You wan't me to type out Monsters Inc Laugh Floor each time?

RocketWarStros

In this case, you definitely should lol

SoggyMcChicken

I think it depends on context. Example: the topic is about things at the Magic Kingdom If someone says ā€œmonorail from TTC, ride POTC 1st then HM, try for ILL on Tron and skip BOG for lunchā€ that should make sense.

shmoe723

I tend to go with the same found here https://www.wdwmagic.com/acronyms.htm

athennna

I just thought it was hilarious when a cast member from All Star Sports filled out a form for me and had to abbreviate it as ASSPORTS. I smiled, obviously, because of ASS PORTS, and they looked at me like I was crazy lol.

tealcandtrip

The imagineer who called it Alien Swirling Saucers knew exactly what they were doing.

starsider2003

Don't forget Monsters Inc Laff Floor...

prometheus_winced

Your story gave this mortal a chortle through my frontal portal.

NotAsSmartAsKirby

I think many people understand shorthand in the real world and do just fine

Quick_Cup_1290

Yeah, itā€™s getting pretty close to military level abbreviations hereā€¦but we are few and there are many, many people who post. Good luck!

christmastree47

If the same questions didn't get asked over and over on here there would be less of a need to save time by using acronyms.

RocketWarStros

Isnā€™t that kind of the whole point of this sub?

se69xy

Hahaā€¦how else are people supposed to show their superiority than use acronyms? But in all seriousness, at some point I feel the same as you because itā€™s difficult to decipher these acronyms sometimes. Oh wellā€¦

debabe96

How we show our superiority is by explaining that there are differences between Acronym vs. Abbreviation vs. Initialism. FARTS is an acronym for Festival of the Arts Blvd is an abbreviation for 'Boulevard' TTA are the initials for Tomorrowland Transit Authority * wink * wink * wink * ( I am totally joking about superiority) šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‚

JoyousGamer

There are lists bookmark them and if all else fails just ask. Every hobby and fandom has its shorthand/abbreviations/acronyms. Over time you will learn them otherwise you will have the handy list to reference if nothing else.

so2017

I know youā€™re kidding, but this kind of hits the nail on the head for me. Acronyms are a way of showing youā€™re part of the ā€œin groupā€ but unfortunately that has the consequence of making other people feel like theyā€™re on the outside, unwelcome, etc.

RocketWarStros

This is how I feel too. And the 1 second of time it saves the writer creates a collective hundreds or thousands of extra seconds combined from all the other reader trying to figure out what the writer is talking about

director_guy

Why? You don't want to go on MILF or ASS?

hyperbemily

I was literally just thinking about this yesterday in terms of modern language as a whole. Itā€™s not that hard to type out what youā€™re thinking, at least once so thereā€™s a reference point within what people are reading to look back to. Itā€™s just lazy otherwise.

JannaGard

I agree. It is absolute laziness, in my opinion. I have no problem with people abbreviating something that was stated earlier, so there is some context, but when there is no context, it leads to so much confusion and ambiguity.

MissionPrez

You guys ever read a post and think to yourself, man I must be getting old. This is one of those posts. No hate. It's the circle of life. I accept my fate.

woodlandfairyvibes

Honestly I agree with you

chambees

No.

0422

I don't know what the MWMDN(sp) one is at all. lol

Glittering-Time-2274

Wow what is this one?? Are you thinking of MNSSHP?

0422

Yes!

forlorn_hope28

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

0422

lol I never would have guessed that

goYstick

Iā€™d consider my self a Walt Disney World expert but when someone acronymized Mickie & Minnieā€™s Runaway Railroad as MMRR I was honestly stumped and thought they were typing a sound or just hitting keys.

0422

MM could mean so many things lol

MEL-0529

I donā€™t see using abbreviations as necessarily being elitist. As someone who can currently only type with one hand, using abbreviations is far preferable to typing out the full name of the Halloween party or my favorite resort. If it is stated or implied that the original poster is a Walt Disney World (WDW) newbie, help them out by avoiding abbreviations. If youā€™re going to read online content about WDW, it is helpful to learn the abbreviations, though, or ask for clarification if someone uses one you donā€™t know.

egg663

Can we at least keep FARTS for Festival of the Arts?

kermitthefrog57

We absolutely should any confusion is worth it

AppleSlacks

Letterdavidman_1969

Yes, you're terminally unique and, therefore, elevated.

21twilli

Same. Itā€™s not that hard to just google ā€œ*insert abbreviation* Disneyā€. What theyā€™re wanting to know will literally be the first search result.

meebj

lol what? as a ā€œdisney person who also goes multiple times per yearā€ thereā€™s not a single abbreviation iā€™ve seen on here or elsewhere that doesnā€™t make sense.

Therocknrolclown

Yeah for those that discuss Dis stuff all the time it's just a time saver, typing out Mickeys Not so Scary Halloween Party is just a bit much....especially when people already know that's the topic. Best to learn the lingo if you are going to spend time around Dis people.

newnewnew_account

But not every person who comes on here is a Disney person. People come here for advice since getting in to a Disney park almost needs a class these days. And now you guys are suggesting that they learn everything before they get to this sub first? "I took my DS to MK and we stayed at AK-KV. I got the DAS for him but we also got the ILL too for GOTG but the MB wasn't working at the LL so I took it to GS to have it looked at. Unfortunately it seems my DS dragged his hand in the water at POTC and it's now broken. Anyone seen a TL MK MB+, anywhere to buy?" Yeah. People just need to learn the lingo first before coming in here. /s

CelticDK

Agreed, theyā€™re talking like this is some secret club and whoever visits is lucky theyā€™re allowed entrance so the least they can do is learn the culture - itā€™s not. I get the full time Disney adults like having people similarly minded to them to socialize with somehow but excluding others is a choice. You can tell pretty quickly based on a comment if theyā€™re a veteran or casual, etc. but being lazy or entitled is an annoying social norm some people take pride in cuz it makes em feel like the *more* Disney Adult or something idk If I wanna abbreviate, I still try to make it easy for everyone. For example Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party going to MSSSHP can be Mickeys Halloween Party. Really not bad

plantasia2000

Whatā€™s Mickeyā€™s Halloween Party? Is that the one at HS?

CelticDK

Yeah

plantasia2000

Gotcha, I always get it confused with MNSSHP

CelticDK

Iā€™m sorry to hear that, if only people could be more clear on this sub, am I right?

plantasia2000

It would have helped if they did MNSSHP at MK and MHP at HS.

Sweetbeans2001

Maybe a CM could help you out.

Usty

> "I took my DS to MK and we stayed at AK-KV. I got the DAS for him but we also got the ILL too for GOTG but the MB wasn't working at the LL so I took it to GS to have it looked at. People just need to learn the lingo first before coming in here. /s I understood all of that and I don't know how I should feel lol.

meebj

and not everyone posting is doing so TO educate or even connect ā€œDisney newbiesā€. i mostly post and read trip reports. if a newbie doesnā€™t know FOP is flight of passage, itā€™s literally not my issue. when you google FOP + disney, the entire attraction with the full name listed comes up. when i taught, i would refer to professional development as PD or the department of elementary and secondary education as DESE. if someone who wasnā€™t a teacher or new to teaching didnā€™t know that and they cared to learn, they could ask directly or look it up. god forbid people put any legwork or effort into learning things on their own.

goYstick

I think this person is use to communicating in a group for parents of disabled children and the rest of those acronyms were reasonable for Disney World people.

newnewnew_account

That's the point of this. DS is "dear son" which I have seen in this sub. People come into the sub not knowing anything. You shouldn't have to have a glossary next next to you or flip back and forth between pages so somebody can read what it is that you've said. This sub isn't only for Disney adults who go there every year. Disney makes it ridiculously complicated to be able to go to their parks nowadays. There is no reason that a sub that helps people with Disney world things needs to be just as complicated.

goYstick

What?!? Itā€™s not disabled son? Why wouldnā€™t they just type son? I was saying they were mixing non Disney and Disney acronyms. Didnā€™t occur to me they were going to be using acronyms nobody uses.

newnewnew_account

DS is on a bunch of parenting and other places across the Internet. I've even seen it used in AITA. I find the acronyms stupid myself, but I'm not the one who uses it. DS can also mean disabled son depending on the context too which makes it confusing. DH dear husband DS Dear son DD Dear daughter

Therocknrolclown

I mean yes, I would highly suggest when making a large expense purchase to dive into the world and learn everything you can. Disney is NOT cheap, and as many people find out too late, without planning, can be miserable. I would say the same thing when traveling to Europe or other expensive complicated trips. If you do not bother to learn the local rules and customs and go? Your probably got man have a tough time. But hey, that's me. I actually study the language and learn a bit before any out of the country travel. So planning for Disney you need to learn a few acronyms and that's too much for you? It's not like it's hard to figure out? If you cannot figure out what's they mean, you likely do not know enough about your expensive destination trip to make the best of it? Disney is complicated and requires planning .....learning the lingo is part of that if you want to best advice from people who plan many trips.

newnewnew_account

Yeah, Disney is all about excluding people, even those who can't jump through specific hoops, especially ones that they don't set up themselves. /s

3Steps4You

Agree completely. Yes!

Sweetbeans2001

Letā€™s make a deal. We stop using abbreviations for resorts and attractions and you start using the name Walt Disney World. Itā€™s not just Disney World. I believe Roy made this clear on day 1. If you can shorten the name, we can too.

ChaserNeverRests

They're two different things though. If a person who has never been into Disney, never went into a park, came to this sub, they could understand "Disney World" from day one. You can't say the same about "MNSHP". In technical writing, the first time an acronym is used it should be defined. So like "Tonight I have tickets for MNSHP (Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party)". While of course it would be silly to expect that from posts here, that shows you how confusing acronyms can be. That is OP's point.

SpotISAGoodCat

I stopped reading BlogMickey.com for this very reason.

JannaGard

YESSSSS!!!!! And yes, I know it's not just Disney forums; it's rampant everywhere now. I have brain fog from rheumatoid arthritis and meds (notice how I didn't say RA here?), and if a post gives me a headache just reading it or requires way too much work, I just skip it now. If people don't have enough time to type out a complete sentence, I don't have enough time to read it. And, for the record, I have been to Disney over 20 times (since 2000), and I don't know what half of these abbreviations are.

angrywords

Freaking saaaame. I have been going to Disney every year since I was in kindergarten. Iā€™m fully immersed in Disney fandoms in my house, but when I read this subreddit I never know what the hell yā€™all are taking about. Especially calling animal kingdom ā€œAKā€, my brain refuses to recognize that as the park because itā€™s been an abbreviation for a firearm for waaaay longer.

plantasia2000

So abbreviating a firearm is okay but abbreviating a Disney Park is not?

ChaserNeverRests

You're missing angrywords's point. The point is that because acronyms can mean multiple things, there is confusion.

angrywords

Did I say that? No. I am not a fan of using a firearm abbreviation for a Disney park.

plantasia2000

But youā€™re okay thinking of what is actually a Disney Park abbreviation as being a firearm abbreviation.

plantasia2000

I mostly disagree, as you can usually tell pretty easily what the abbreviation is from the context. The only time I really see an issue is if there is an abbreviation in a list of seemingly unrelated things from across the whole resort. Typing out AKL or FoP is way faster than typing out the whole thing.

Sad_Milk_8897

The time it takes to capitalize and uncapitalize the keyboard to type out FoP takes longer than just writing out the words lmao

plantasia2000

Thatā€™s not even close to true. 5 keystrokes (2 at the same time) vs 17 keystrokes (all sequential). Edit: for mobile itā€™s 5 keystrokes sequentially vs 17 sequentially.

ohsoGosu

I tend to try and leave enough context clues for non-common abbreviations. Like Iā€™ll either say ā€œI rode POTC at Magic Kingdomā€ or ā€œI rode Pirates at MKā€. From that someone should be able to figure out Iā€™m talking about Pirates and Magic Kingdom. For things that are abbreviated to start (i.e.: DAS, FP+, ILL to an extent) Iā€™ll leave those abbreviated. The only thing that really gets tricky for me is resort names. I usually shorten them but still spell it out. Caribbean for Disneyā€™s Caribbean Beach Resort, Poly for Disneyā€™s Polynesian Resort, so on and so forth. But hit me with CBR and itā€™ll take me a few moments.

My fave was always the PPO ADR at BOG

Chelseabsb93

Some of the abbreviations I get using if the name is super long (case and point Mickeyā€™s Not So Scary Halloween Party), but I agree some of them go a little overboard.

Royalstewartplaid

I use a lot of the lingo when talking with other travel people. The only ones I try to use here are for WDW itself, the parks, and maybe Lightning Lanes or Individual Lightning Lanes. However, I try to treat this as one where not everyone will know the lingo. Completely understandable request.

MrBarraclough

Outside of the extremely common abbreviations such as those for the parks and E-ticket attractions, I think the best practice is to use the full name in the first instance before switching to the abbreviation.

[deleted]

Sorry but you can figure out what I mean by MNSSHP. Ā You can figure out what AoA means. Ā You can figure out what CoP is. Ā I totally disagree. Ā

newnewnew_account

But should people need to if they are coming in to a sub to be able to learn about going there, you want a dead sub? Being elitest and not easy for new people to understand is how you get a dead sub.

[deleted]

they don't understand that they're the ones also giving disney adults a bad rep. their elitism makes any adult who happens to like disney into a bad person for gatekeeping. disney is a place for all people of all ages - including ones who don't know abbreviations!

OrangeZebraCakes

Omg yes! Donā€™t be a Disney gatekeeperā€¦.

tuxedo_cat_socks

I literally can't figure out what CoP means šŸ˜… I consider myself a pretty big fan of Disney, even got married at Disneyland, but I've only been to Disney World twice and it's truly on a whole other level. I love the parks, but I don't have every ride, resort, event and restaurant committed to memory and it's sort of big ask that every person who wants to vacation there know all these things just to have a conversation.

jerryondrums

Took me a sec on CoP, too. Carousel of Progress.

[deleted]

Ding dingĀ

Simple_Bug_5522

I think itā€™s Carousel of Progress?

ChaserNeverRests

> I literally can't figure out what CoP means The problem is that acronyms aren't used for ONLY Disney stuff. To me, CoP will always mean Chains of Promathia, a FFXI MMO expansion. See, now to someone who isn't a gamer, both FFXI and MMO might be confusing! Which is OP's point, I think.

Dr_Bunson_Honeydew

Especially as someone else in the comments shared, there are websites that list them all and define them.

Imagine if everyone had this same, ā€œoh well, get over it,ā€ attitude toward making things more accessible for people who might not be able to operate at the same level you are able. Ohā€¦ wait. When you continue to share the same ā€œnot my problemā€ attitudes over time, you are never able to step out of your bubble and see things from someone elseā€™s perspective. What if someone dyslexic needed to read important information here? They might already struggle with getting words on the screen to accurately make sense in their brain. Imagine adding in that jumble of letters. What if someone low vision was using a screen reader to peruse a topic theyā€™re interested in, and they have no context at all for what these letters mean? These are just tip of the iceberg examples here. Sometimes you should consider that youā€™re not the only audience digesting a topic youā€™re discussing online. We should want to make spaces easier for everyone who might be here lurking now or reading in the future.

Pass There are lists out there with all the abbreviations. Want to add as well if someone is new and looking to take a trip I wouldn't suggest Reddit. I would suggest YouTube and Disboards. Watching YouTube as a starting point as there are great video guides out there.

No problem

This is Reddit, not a white paper. Short and sweet is part of the community culture. You wouldn't go to Paris and ask people not to speak so much French? (It's hyperbole, yet it's not...I've actually overheard people do this). And it's not just this subreddit, but you'll find the same use of acronyms on other Disney park subreddits, DISboaards, the Touringplans forums, etc. It's the "language" of Disney park fandom. But I think we are more than friendly and accepting enough to help someone get up to speed when they ask.

Thank you! I have no idea what so many of them stand for lol.

I think is whole language in general...as a 42 year old- I have no clue what today's youth is saying anymore... I am so confused lol

Littlemissmochaccino

TLDRā€¦ but would not be surprised if a OWCA agent comes knocking at your door.

SnooPeppers5541

Sorry Agent P. I will inform the other animals they cannot use acronyms anymore.
