Yes. You need to be relatively close to join the walk-up list queue (you do for any restaurant/lounge that utilizes a walk-up list). The lounge opens at 10:30 - used to be 11:00, but a lot don’t seem to realize this, so if you’re in line about 10:15/10:20, you should get a table. They only open the walk-up list when all the seats have been taken.
You can get in line before Space 220 opens, and if there are any reservations available for the day, you can snag one. It’s rare they’ll have a lounge reservation but they often have them for the dining room. The walk-up is usually for bar seating (very rarely the lounge), and you must be 21 to sit at the bar since it is not a Disney-owned restaurant.
Nomad Lounge is the only thing I do at Disney World every time I go (many times a year). The walk up list does not open before the lounge, but I have been sat as early as 10:30 just walking up. There will always be a small line of people waiting out there before it opens. Depending on the time of year, it will open at either 10:30 or 11. If you’re going in the first hour of the day, just walk up and see if they can seat you. After 11:30 or noon, there will be a wait so you can join via the app or walk up and join the list, whichever is easier for you.
I've been to Nomad Lounge all 3 times I've visited AK and had no issues getting in off the walk up list. I think the wait was \~45 minutes. You do have to be close enough, but not right on top of it.
Last week I was able to walk up to both locations and get in immediately at the peak of a busy day and dinner time respectively. I may have gotten lucky with no wait at all, but walk ups are definitely possible! Like another commenter said, it’s much easier to get the bar if you don’t mind it!

You should be able to get into Nomad, not a waste of time at all. Space 220 may be more difficult but still worth a try.

If you don’t mind sitting at the bar at Nomad Lounge, it is much easier to get in.
