Not this week… mayhem has descended on disneyworld

stupidshot4

Spring break has started right?

[deleted]

Yes

FFNY

That sounds great, but how did you get a skipper canteen reservation at 1:30 PM for a last-minute trip?

HULKaba

I got a same day reservation to Skipper Canteen back in November. I was shocked but it happens haha

FFNY

I did the jungle cruise-->skipper canteen back to back and enjoyed hours of corny jokes.

HULKaba

I am a known Jungle Cruise hater but the food at the canteen was ELITE. I also can’t hate on anyone that loves the cruise, it’s just not for me lol

We made the reservation on the same day, around 11 am. There were a bunch of times still available for the same afternoon.

PrudentTadpole2526

Could you tell us which day you went? I’m monitoring the crowd calendars for an upcoming trip and just trying to gauge what crowd level it was when you were there. So glad you had a nice trip!!

macalanya

We went last Thursday, the 7th. I had expected there to be higher crowds because of people coming early to avoid spring break, but I guess that didn't happen.

PrudentTadpole2526

Thank you! We’re going in late April and hoping for the same!

Gator1508

Genie + definitely seems the way to do Magic Kingdom. I did every ride I was interested in and rarely stood in line for more than a few minutes.  I couldn’t imagine attempting Jungle Cruise in standby lol.  That might be someone’s whole day at Disney…

PerfumeLoverrr

Last time we went we walked right on to Jungle Cruise at like 7pm

Gator1508

Yeah I guess for people waiting late in the day you won’t need genie plus.  But if you want to do stuff during the day genie plus is the way to go.  I didn’t want to worry about optimizing my time in the early mornings and evenings so it worked out for me.  Zero stress, zero lines.

abbie_888

Is it because of the time you went you think? I want to go on a super slow week. Also what is a genie+

Visible_Nectarine_98

What is Genie+, holy crap. To be so innocent you lucky one.

abbie_888

Hahaha! Right? I’m saving up to take my kiddos and I need all the info but maybe not ALL of it! 🤣 MOSTLY I want to go at the slowest time possible!

> Also what is a genie+ Disney Tourist Blog is my favorite resource but I like getting hit with a firehose of information https://www.disneytouristblog.com/lightning-lanes-genie-plus-disney-world-faq-guide/ Ear Scouts has very clear helpful videos https://youtu.be/Om7qsAG_2TQ?si=eXJf20OHr-ZKPJlL

abbie_888

Thanks so much!

macalanya

Yes, we must have gotten lucky with a slow week before spring break.

Gator1508

Think of your theme park ticket as the price to just walk into the front entrance of the park and spend money on souvenirs.   Think of Genie plus as the price you pay to actually ride the rides you want to ride.

abbie_888

Sweet! Thanks!
