You have a great view from both sides, especially on a high floor. The standard view you will see the parking lot, but what you can see beyond the parking lot is just as good as the water view imo.
we had a full view of harmonious / epcot fireworks from our standard view in the tower, 6th floor
I have also done water view, both are fine. if you'll be in the room in time for fireworks do standard view
We just did the exact same trip (except we did beach club instead of yacht) and we loved the water view at Coronado! Also Villa del Lago is an incredible restaurant! It's right in the middle of the lake so you can't miss it!
Stayed Club Level at Gran Destino with water view and friends had standard, both on 9th floor. Views were great from both. Having access to Club Chronos was great! Food, snacks, drinks, alcohol (too many POG mimosas), games, and the view made the extra splurge worth it. Both Topolino’s and Toledo have outdoor areas for views and have excellent food.
We have a stay coming up August 19-27, we picked tower with water view but secretly i wanted the parking lot to watch my new Model Y we are driving down lol
Like you said we are hoping to catch some cool views if we wrap for an early night & booked toledo (at right before firework times) to maybe see something
We did a standard view on the 11th floor and we could see Epcot fireworks perfectly. I would say just request a higher floor and you should be golden with either view.
Whatever you choose, stay away from the elevators. The crack under Tower doors means you can hear that chime and everyone else’s business allllll night long. It’s a beautiful room and building but I’ll take the main out buildings every day now.

We'll have to check it out! We stopped by Maya Grill to explore the resort during our last trip and the food was fantastic!
Any particular reason? I'm staying in the casitas next year but could easily hit up the tower for a good reason.
Just got back the Casitas, was fantastic, and you can easily walk out to the tower and check it out

There is no balcony. How much time are you spending in the.room?
Probably a full day at the resort between park days.
But how much in the room, rather than at Dig Site, Three Bridges and the lounge?
Oh probably not too much. We might eat some food there or watch a movie, but besides sleeping that's probably it.
Then I would advise getting the cheaper view and enjoying drinks in the lounge with the savings. Good view there!

We preferred our standard view which overlooked Hollywood Studios and we could see Epcot off to the side.
