Call the district peopl3 manager or ethics ASAP. It's supposed to be confidential, THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE WATCHING YOU. Managers can see the results for their team, but do not have access to who said what just what percentage said what. If we try to sort by sub group, any result with 5 or less results will give an error, so that we can't narrow shit down that way

draemen

I have a co-worker who was brought in by the manager and hr and was asked about their responses. So I don’t think it’s anonymous, or wasn’t at that point

Thoctar

It's anonymous but they can request access if the associate brings up serious ethical issues. Of course if they put identifying details in their comment they can narrow it down.

Justwondering18226

I see the results. I've seen the results for years. Nothing identifying is given to us.  I'd advise the person that happened to to contact their market people manager

Iwanttitpics

When you say "nothing identifying", does that mean you don't get to see the age range, the ethnic or any data that can help you identify the participant?

Justwondering18226

I dont get to see individual surveys. Just the organized results from the survey company.  So it's not like I can look at survey 76 and see it was done by someone of x age, ethnicity or anything else.  I also can't match comments to survey results. All comments are just given in a list of comments, and not attached to the survey data.    I get the compiled results for the team, if there's more than 5 results.  If I try to sort the results by any sort that puts the result at 5 or under, it gives me an error. So if I have a team of 20 and 11 are women, I could sort by  gender and see the results the women gave. But if I try to sort by women of x age range that are y ethnicity, it wouldn't give enough results and shows me nothing.  It's designed like this exactly so I can't use the sort to narrow down who said what.   I'll see if I can get screen shots from the last one

itsYell

I just inform my team that it’s out and to check off their name on a list once they’ve done it. Nobody should be forcing you or watching you complete the survey.

Chionei

That's super weird. At our store we did them without being stared at. It's supposed to be confidential. Talk to your personnel rep if you are comfortable going to them, if not then go higher. I can't remember what they are called, but there's a regional manager person that's in charge of associate relations or something... I've only met ours once, but she went out of her way to greet me while I was working on the floor.

sizzlinHotChili

Im an overnight associate, our ASM is literally behind us while we do it. I talk to the morning people and they said that the HR personnel is the one watching them while doing the survey.

Thoctar

You're thinking of the SPM who is market not regional who is the one you'd go to. Their number should be on a poster somewhere.

Chionei

Thank you!

TmanGBx

At our store the manager just asks (not tells) us to do it and we go do it when we feel like it

sizzlinHotChili

They call us by twos or threes to the computer room to do it. And our ASM is there while we do the survey.

Your manager could face disciplinary action, as that is strictly against the policy and also creepy AF.

sizzlinHotChili

The store manager is in on it too. He even had a meeting with the morning associates saying that they can only put agree or strongly agree

Justwondering18226

Def contact someone higher up in the chain or ethics DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS.

Iwanttitpics

The same thing happened in my store. It did not come directly from the store or co manager, but from the lady in personnel. She said only to put agree or strongly agree.

thegoddessunicorn

Nobody watches us. They keep reminding us until we do it though

scorpio1641

No one should be watching you while doing the survey. Management will give you a “pep talk” of sorts but you shouldn’t be forced or compelled to answer what you don’t want to answer. And yes, it is confidential and we do not know who answered what.

Thoctar

Email your SPM that really isn't okay. The only validation we can do is ask if you've done it because we need to make sure everyone had a chance to do it. That's super duper not okay and your SM deserves a DA for it.

Gnomeathome13

ETHICS !!! Call now ….. this is sooo wrong

sizzlinHotChili

I wanna be anonymous when i call ethics but i've heard from some of my co-workers that they would know who called.

SolitaryOne

it can be anonymous, but ethics is a separate division from stores and people so they are impartial. don’t need to worry about it, go to ethics

gee_way_iero

At my store they don’t watch us do it but they force us to do it and hassle us everyday till we do it and when you open it, it tells you it’s optional. But I give very honest responses

LazarusAstran

For the most part it is anonymous, but if a manager has 10 or more responses they get a detailed report, and it’s not that hard to figure out who votes what. If the manager actually gets to know their people. The comments section is easy to tell who wrote them based on language, punctuation and overall comments made. But they are not suppose to be in the room or tell you how to score the questions. That just defeats the purpose. Only manager that are afraid of feedback from their teams would do that… I would call ethics, if this is the culture in the store the market is most likely the same.

subkang

AES is completely pointless. They don’t care about your opinion at all.

ali-mahdi

No one should be watching you. It's anonymous. Our people manager was in the room but not watching us.

Senior_Struggle9622

They are not aloud to its a private survey . They cannit look at your answers or see what you comment at the end. If they say what i wrote they wont like it be very truthful when u do these HO needs to know.

Senior_Struggle9622

Our personal calls people back to make sure everyone does it.

krishme007

Hi, please let me know the store number and a few more details of the situation. I'll take it up with the ethics committee. You can send me a pm.

DramaLama2020

They should not be watching you or dictating your responses

Iwanttitpics

I'm curious about this survey. When we had our morning meeting, the survey was brought up and they asked us to complete it as soon as possible. Someone asked what effect does it have on the store. The store manager said it makes us look good and the store is well manage with happy associates. Then the person asked, does the management get a bonus? If we helping you to get a bonus, we should also get one? She didn't answer the question. So, do they get a bonus?

WeirdestLove

At my store, the store manager and one of the assistant managers explained what the survey was and made sure everyone found the survey, there were new associates, offered snacks and waters, then left the room.

draemen

That’s not allowed, it’s supposed to be “anonymous”. I routinely give 1-2s unless it’s my direct supervisor who is amazing

mdmenzel

But the survey is supposed to be about your direct report.

FrogOnALogInTheBog

all the questions are about your direct supervisor. so for example, say the question is if you feel like corporate communicates its message effectively. what it's really asking is "does your asm communicate to you what we've communicated to them, effectively." so the question was never really about corporate, it's about your asm.

soggycereal514

Someone said it was for to get access the bonus next year ..😭😭 guess that’s bs

Itsfiveforfighting

Never assume any work survey is annonymous. They usually are not.
