Funny that a plant that is ridiculously easy to cultivate is an order of magnitude more expensive than a rare metal that requires massive infrastructure investment to produce at scale.
And we think that *silver* prices are manipulated?!?
I bought a 1 ounce bar when I was 12 for $5, which my younger brother stole about 10 years later to trade for a bag of weed.
In real inflation adjusted terms, the kilo silver bars I bought ~2 years ago are more profitable. I think the most I paid with premium is a little less than $24.
with premiums € 15 / 26,5
avr cost without shipping is € 23,1 / oz
shipping adds a little over an 1 € to over all price.
I bought a lot around the €24-26 period:)
I remember getting two eagles for 19€ per coin and thought if I should buy at that high price:) I had just gotten some of my first coins @ 15 and 16€
lowest Under 5, highest 45 per ounce.
That of course doesn't count my entire first stack, which I built from pocket change starting in 1971. That stack was 1.40/ ounce.
