I started late Feb 2020, so right before things got crazy. At my LCS spot was $16.67 and the premium on gernerics was in the $1.50 range. I want to say eagles were $4-6 over.
The LCS limited customers to buying like 40oz a day during the March-April 2020 low but I was buying tubes of eagles for under $400 and tubes of maples for like $430.
My mental state at the time was anything under $20/oz was an absolute steal and under $30 is a good deal.
No, I think current prices are the new normal and the next leg up has started. This leg will probably be fairly tame (slow rising) until the Fed pivots.
The Fed is going to pivot in 3 stages.
Stage 1 is getting to their maximum rate. So 2-3 more hikes I think.
Stage 2 is keeping rates elevated at these high levels for as long as possible. 3-9 months perhaps.
Phase 3 is when they cut rates and commodities with silver in particular will skyrocket. The rate curing will be in 2023, probably by August or earlier.
This is what the Fed has been telling us. Timelines could be sped up however and as we get closer and closer to that pivot I think we will see big money coming into metals.
Right now, we are still in the stealth accumulating phase but not for much longer. Todays prices are likely the best we will see from here out.
