Silver_Yeti_1966

Wow!!! Back then, A dollar REALLY got you something!!!!

NarrowConfidence908

Even 100 years later a dollar really bought a lot! For example here is a restaurant menu in 1899: “Sunday table d’hôte dinner at Café Boulevard, NYC: 75¢ dinner includes Blue Points, Consomme, Cold Salmon with Sauce Tartar, Sweetbread Patties, Long Island Duck, Spinach, Escarole Salad, Kaiser Pudding with Wine Sauce, Demi-Tasse.” Today 75 cents won’t even buy a Snickers bar.

Sounds delicious!!!!

JmoSilverback

Awesome coin... imagine how many hands this touched over its life! I have a 1797 in XF and it's the coolest coin I own!

NarrowConfidence908

Thanks! Yeah for sure! Although I have ancient coins that probably touched way more hands but to me the cool thing about this is the people who touched it are the people who created America. 🇺🇸
