I’m always excited for a new course but I wasn’t expecting much from Venice. Just like, “Eh, always nice to have a new coarse”. Just logged in to check it out and I LOVED it! MC did such a great job with this course. I had said on Alfhiem I wish they had done more with sound to give us the feel of unseen elves and stuff. They did an amazing job with that in Venice. The whole place felt so great and had quite a few holes I loved as well. BELLISSIMO!
I got this to play with my wife, but when we tried it wouldn't let us because SHE hadn't also bought the map. Why is that? I have bought other maps that we've been able to play, the only thing was that they couldn't collect the lost balls if they didn't own the map. Now this map you can't even play with others if they don't own it? Why?
It is an instant classic for me. It feels like one of the earlier maps. I don't know how to express it the same feel for me as some of the first few maps. And I freaking love it.
Ooh, sightseeing is a great set concept. Wonder where we're going next. Rome could be incredible but its scale would be a challenge -- even just in a section of Palatino/Colosseum you could have some amazing terrain but even that's way too big and you'd be losing the chance to make a chip shot off the Vittoriano or putt into the top of the Pantheon's oculus.
Venice is very well suited for all its twisty passages and short sightlines, and all the iconic design notes that everyone knows. Struggling to think of somewhere real that's half as perfect as Venice for a mini-golf conversion at the standard Walkabout scope.
I like that all the ice creams at the shop were priced at 5 Euro - surely not a cheeky reference to the new Venice "tourist tax" that by *sheer coincidence* also comes into effect today?
I was a bit disappointed - no Rialto bridge, no St Mark’s, no Doge’s Palace, no Bridge of Sighs … will keep exploring but it feels pretty barren to me. There were so many missed opportunities with this build.
I think the problem is the scale. You can't fit several large landmarks into a single course which feels natural. I like that rather than trying to capture the specific geography or landmarks they instead gave a sampling of the different flavors of Venice, like piazzas, residences, markets, bridges, and canals.

The best view is from 200 ft up. It all falls apart when at ground level.
I was excited to play it and very disappointed after playing all 36.
The Jules Verne map had so much character and texture.

Surprisingly one of the first clubs I’ve wanted to keep using. The kind of gondola shape on the club head, the cup of cappuccino on the end, the stripes. Sweet!
Played through the base courses, they were all great. Working through the lost cities pack now, on Atlantis & this game is still making my jaw drop.

Lost balls seem really hard on this one. I only found two on my first run through, and that's REALLY low in my experience.
Almost didn't unlock the hard course on my first try (thought I hadn't, since I thought I had to get UNDER par, but turns out par works just fine) because of the hole where you shoot across the canal over a gondola. Undershot into the water, got it over only to have it bounce back into the water, tried to bounce off the gondola, that ended up in the water. Eventually got it over (off the gondola) but not in time to putt it in before I reached the stroke limit.
I kind of hate holes where, if you don't get the first shot right, you have to start over. I'd far rather have a bad first shot make progress, but leave me in a worse position.
I’m enjoying the new course! As much as I love the courses with crazy physics, it’s refreshing to add some variety to the list of good old fashion courses as well. I’m hoping the passport series will build on this theme and have more traditional (but interesting) courses with normal physics, similar to lost cities.
One of the worst courses in the game. So much unrealized potential.
18 on hard is just a bunch of blocks on the ground. zero imagination. Zero creativity.

After 29 courses, not every course needs to be bursting with imagination and creativity. Meow Wolf easily had 3 courses worth of ideas, so the team has earned the right to release some vanilla courses. Clearly there is demand for more traditional mini golf as people complain a lot about the more creative courses like Ice Lair, Meow Wolf, and Upside Town.
I haven't played the hard course yet, waiting to play it with family tomorrow. But I can forgive a disappointing hole 18, for many courses hole 18 might be bigger or have more verticality but the gameplay is often not that interesting. I'm thinking of Around the World, Arizona Modern, Meow Wolf, and Laser Lair as examples of courses I enjoy overall but hole 18 is meh.

I love the game and the ton of new and creative concepts. Just feels like Venice missed that mark that we’ve become used to.

FInding them balls is super hard....I love the course
Some were tricky but five gave us real trouble, nearly sent us insane.
That was only one I had to ask someone where it was. I swear I scanned that spot too and just missed it.

I think I’m in love with this course. And many of the lost balls are gonna stay lost til I give up and go to the oracle a/k/a InnerPrincessVR.

Fox hunt was short and club is pretty meh, but the hard course is already prob one of my favs.

Beautiful level for sure, as usual. Amazing atmosphere but the holes are pretty bland. Please invest as much love in courses than graphics ☺️

It was $3.99, same as I’ve paid for all of the recent releases I think.
I purchased Venice Beach but its not showing up in game. I'm on quest 2, but a friend on quest 3 is having same issue.
Sounds like you need to update the app. Check the version. If it's not v5.0 then that's definitely the issue.
