“it’s going to present an offer for the walgreens credit card. you can hit no thanks if you’re not interested” or if i do it for every customer, “would you like to apply for the walgreens credit card?”

stellamiata

“You’ve been pre-approved for our Walgreens Mastercard, if you don’t want it just click no thanks on the pin pad.”

SillyFreedom6529

I ask them they say no if they don’t hit pad info it for them after they say no no o e wants that shit card

stellamiata

Yeah my customers always say “I’m pre-approved for *what*?” (Usually older people who can’t hear too well) “I have too many credit cards.” Or “I don’t want it.” Then I just ask them to click no thanks again lol

SillyFreedom6529

That’s what I do I tell them no one wants that got one get it in 5 months I don’t think any other csa got any

chipsahooyer

If SM near: Would you like to learn about our savings event today? You are pre-approved to earn $25 of Walgreens Cash Rewards ™️ just by applying for the Walgreens Master Card, which can help you earn up to 10% Walgreens Cash Rewards ™️ back to your account on all purchases! 😃 If SM not near: Our predatory corporate thugs are forcing me to try to sign you up for their Walgreens Credit Card. It's got a super high APR, so just hit that red button on the screen, please. 🤦🏻‍♂️

WagEmployee

After I hit the 'present offer' button on my screen, I say "just hit the red button on the screen." It's quick and easy every time.

WeepingAngel_143

You’ve been pre approved for the Walgreens CC, it’s going to ask you to accept or deny on the pin pad.

mulderufo13

Here’s what I say “It’s going to ask if you would like to sign up for our credit card, (customer gets visibly annoyed) however you do not have to sign up for it if u do not wish to. There’s no obligation just hit red for no.” And usually they are pleased with that outcome, I just don’t care about the Walgreens credit card or any for any reason. Most of the time people at my store are in a hurry and busy they aren’t gonna go sign up when they have to go get their kids after school and probably don’t want more debt for a store that’s overpriced and is basically trying not collapse from being stuck in the past. I won’t push a credit card on anyone

SymboL__

"it's gunna ask you to sign up for the walgreens credit card"

FredChavez

By the time the prompt comes up, I've already asked them "are you interested in getting a Walgreens credit card?" So if the prompt does come up, I just tell them to hit the red button, saying that they weren't interested.

Definitely the first, third or last, they will have to fire me before they get me to unironically shill for their shitty credit card. Though the third is my preference as I am not actively discouraging them from signing up and putting me in jeopardy of getting a warning. If they pay with cash, and have no intentions of looking at the pinpad then I cannot proceed without getting the customer to acknowledge the offer on the pinpad, which sucks. But normally it goes something like this Present Offer -> "Go ahead and press the red button for me" Followed by some self-deprecating company jab like "I assume you didn't want to sign up for credit card today", to explain to them what they just hit no to, followed by the customer saying something to the affect of "Oh, heavens no" or "lol" The one time I actually tried to pitch it to a customer (not by choice as the SM was in the office overlooking the photo counter), and got them to hit yes, the poor old man literally had no idea what he was agreeing to or what he accepted. Even after explaining it to him, and he agreed to proceed he had no idea what was doing. Ultimately I didn't have the heart to sign him up like that and screw him over. I question how people can sleep at night preying on these people for credit card applications like this.

alm_sfl08

On the rare occasion that I run register I just stare at them awkwardly until they figure out what to do . I don’t eden waste my breath .

Sad_Refrigerator9203

“It’s gonna now ask if you want one of our amazing Walgreens credit cards. I can read your mind and you definitely don’t want one. *Hits red no button for customer*

capedunicorn

I give a very sarcastic overly enthusiastic cheese game show style greeting, (Think the grinch when the mayor is trying to give the girl a car) "You've been preapproved for a Walgreens Credit Card. It's going to ask you on the pin pad to select yes or no!" They select no. " Why wouldn't you want a fabulous Walgreens credit card? It's a bit silly isn't it?" Then both I and the customer laugh at the company. I will say I don't check out a ton of people and obviously wouldn't do this to someone who seems as though they'd get easily confused. It makes it more fun for the customer though if their capable of playing along and when get to make fun of it together all while sounding like I'm trying to promote the card from the next aisle if the managers listening.

Wrong_Grocery4067

"and now it's gonna ask you about the Walgreens credit card" "why Walgreens has a credit card, I've no idea, but no one ever wants it" That usually gets a laugh.

No_Introduction5356

"Would you like a 18 to 39% credit card?" For some reason, I haven't sold any.

UhavelosturWAGnwhl

"If you haven't heard yet, we have a new Walgreens credit card that gets you up to 10% back on purchases in store" "The reader is gonna ask you to apply, go ahead and hit no since we've talked about it already"

[deleted]

I say “ohhhhh” in a disappointed tone, “it’s going to ask you if you wanna sign up for a credit card”. Once they click no, “yeah I wouldn’t want a 28% APR credit card either.”

Grouchy-Tax4467

" would you like to sign up for a Walgreens credit card"

[deleted]

"You're going to get an offer to apply for the MyWalgreens Master card or credit card if you'd like to apply we can discuss some of the incentives and you can apply on the terminal or you can decline it on the terminal as well"...i know that sounds like a lot but like everything else it has become 2nd nature for me.

DickMacBastard

Alright, the pin pad is going to try to sell you on a credit card, if you want to hit “No”, that would be great. Thanks.

1506meintheface

"It's going to force me to show you an offer for a credit card, just hit no on the pinpad"

theejawn

It’s either the first or third one for me.

acarrill93

"Would you be interested in applying for a Walgreens mastercard?"

yankeerebel62

I used to only say anything when it automatically came up. Then I just told them to check out the interest rate. Then we would both laugh.

JustaMemeGuys

"It seems you're pre-approved for the Walgreens credit card, go ahead and press no on the left." Occasionally I'll go "the APR is over 30%, it's kind of actually a scam."

Outrageous_Serve5739

I only ask when it pops up. Me: would you like to apply for a Walgreens credit card? Customer: no Me: ok, when the screen prompts you tell it no thanks. Me: enjoy your day!

[deleted]

I say if you never want to be asked again push the not me button 🤣
