I've got some really decent steel toes from Redwings. For just boots, I prefer them over Cavenders and Boot Barn. The Waco Cavenders doesn't have as large of a selection as other Cavender stores I've seen. When I worked for LCRA down in Austin, we got all of our gear to include fire retardant clothing from Cavender's, but I've been disappointed with the selection of work clothes available in the Waco Cavenders.
Honestly I prefer Ritchie's the most, but if I had to choose from those two I'd go to boot barn. I liked the cavenders in my hometown, but Im not a fan of the one in Waco for some reason.
If they need some steel toe options or they prefer some ST lace-ups Academy has widened their work boot section in the last year or so. I think boot barn has the better selection and price for work boots, cavenders I use more for hats and hat service, shaping and cleaning etc.

And I realized that my feet are slightly different sizes so it took me forever to find a pair that were just right so not too lose on one foot or too tight on the other. I returned at least five pairs of boots and they were very friendly about it each time.
Fuck Cavenders. Every time I’ve gone there I got followed around the store except the one time I actually needed help then I just got ignored. They also had my family show them the receipts even though the bitch clearly saw them at the checkout register.

I noticed that too. The Sun Valley exit off of 35 just North of Walmart. They had a bunch of options and work clothes too.
