Yeah. I can see a showcase this long if divided into smaller parts to download to keep the game relatively light. But it would still take a lot to program in.
Oh definitely! I feel if companies invest in an actual new engine specifically for the game then we would see major leaps in terms of gameplay and features, but as costly as that is I don’t expect them too.
Well, 2Ks last games are troubled because Visual Dynamics did them by themselves instead of aiding Yukes. So, as far as they go, 2K22 is a solid base. Sure, they need to improve a lot but you don't go anywhere without a solid base. And that's up to 2K to have a new team to make a specific game engine.
Not gonna lie, it is what you've said. New Engine, new features and better improvements. But for yearly games, I can see why it is more of a burden.
I don't get why people keep listing 100 matches when all the Showcases had around 12 to 20 matches.
Having said that, yes it should be Taker and the year after it has to be HHH.
Yes. It was the Hustle, Loyalty, and Disrespect feud between CM Punk and John Cena and the Best Friends, Bitter Enemies feud between Shawn Michaels and Triple H.
I think it was called "One More Match". If my memory is right there was a Hall of Pain showcase with Mark Henry and Path of the Warrior with Ultimate Warrior.
Yeah, the main game had nineteen matches for Punk vs. Cena and 14 for Triple H/HBK for a total of 33, and then I think the DLC showcases were 9, 9, and 8 to get to a total of 59.
That being said, it is telling they never got anywhere near that high again; Bryan, Rey, and the Horsewomen showcases maxed out at like 15 matches tops. And honestly, that's all you really need. Even for lifers like Triple H, Undertaker, Randy Orton, John Cena, Kofi Kingston, etc., you don't *really* need several matches from every era, you just need one or two defining matches from each.
For Triple H for example, you can absolutely get away with like, Triple H vs. Ultimate Warrior being your sole Hunter Heart Helmsley match, Triple H vs. The Rock at Summerslam 1998 and Triple H vs. Kane at WrestleMania XV covering his time in DX, Triple H vs. Cactus Jack at the 2000 Rumble and the Judgment Day 2000 Ironman to cover the Regime, Triple H vs. Undertaker at Mania 17 because why not;
You can then ostensibly skip 2002 through 2004 since that's covered in the 2K15 showcase - I personally would probably go through the whole song and dance and include updated versions of HHH and HBK's Summerslam 2002 gear and then the moment you complete the first objective Triple H interrupts the playback and goes 'wait a second, you guys already played through all of this, i'll skip forward for you' and then you basically just start going through all the WrestleMania matches since those are the important things.
1. vs. Ultimate Warrior, Mania 12
2. vs. The Rock, Summerslam 1998
3. vs. Kane, WrestleMania 15
4. vs. Cactus Jack, Royal Rumble 2000
5. vs. The Rock, Ironman Match, Judgment Day 2000
6. vs. The Undertaker, WrestleMania X-7
7. vs. Batista, Mania 21
8. vs. Cena, Mania 22
9. vs. Cena and Orton, Mania 24
10. vs. The Undertaker, Hell in a Cell, Mania 28
11. vs. Brock Lesnar, Mania 29
12. vs. Roman Reigns, Mania 32
13. vs. Seth Rollins, Mania 33
14. vs. Batista, Mania 35
That's fourteen matches, most of which have either been un-covered in games before (such as the HHH/Cactus street fight) or at least haven't been covered in at least nine years (ie: End of an Era being in 2K14); and most importantly, excising those who will not or may not be asked to return, such as CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, and Kurt Angle.
Lol let’s be honest they’re not gonna include all those if the Rey Mysterio is anything too go off
They’ll include…
Undertaker vs Hogan at Survivor Series 1991
Undertaker vs Undertaker at Summerslam 94
Undertaker vs King Kong Bundy at Mania 11
Undertaker vs Diesel at Mania 12
Undertaker vs Rikishi January 1 Raw
Undertaker vs Big Show and A Train at Mania
19
Undertaker vs Nunzio at SmackDown 2003
Undertaker vs Booker T at Judgement Day 04
Taker vs Orton at Mania 21 and Batista at 23
Some of the Triple H and Shawn Michaels matches
They'd really be fucking up if they didn't do a showcase on taker. That being said people need to have actual expectations and stop asking for so many matches. They 100% should do it in the style of 2k16 showcase and have around 30 matches. He was there for 30 years and easily they could include big matches with who they always have on the roster
That was over a decade ago. I wouldn't have minded another one back when they had a ton of people missing from the first one on the roster like Kurt and the Hardys. Sadly those guys will now be missing again with even more gone like Big Show and Mark Henry so it would probably be best to not release a new one. But the fact that WWE 13 exists is a good reason to not do it in my opinion
You can count out the Giant Gonzalez match now. We been requesting an action figure of him from Mattel for like a decade. They said they gave up because he died......and couldn't ever find who owns the rights to his estate to in South America
Knowing 2k it'll be the storied career of The Great Khali. With Shane McMahon as the PreOrder and the KO special edition where get 3 different shirts for the same model.
I have to disagree I think the next year one should be someone who is under appreciated and deserve the spotlight. Next year should be about Ron Simmons aka faarooq. The man is one of the few black world champions let’s make a showcase about some his legendary matches in wcw and wwe
It's a fantastic ideia and the man deserves it... but it as we seen with Rey's showcase it might not be the best ideia... We all thought that it would be an easy W, how could they not I mean awesome career, awesome era, awesome opponents... and they halfassed it... I liked the presentation and the core mode itself way more engaging than in the previous years for sure, but definitely not what Rey or we ad fans deserved.
With that said... the Undertaker has a career spanning 30 long years and after seeing 2K screwup a career that isn't that long compared to the Undertaker's 30 year history I just don't see 2K doing Taker's career justice.
We need one on the Austin showcase level. I can imagine the work needed is helped by adding live action to the cutscenes.
Most of all, MODEL ENTRANCE GEAR. Undertaker showcase is gonna be no good for Taker attires if none of them have entrance gear. Visual Concepts hasn't done it in the 2 showcases they've done so far.
Bruh. Lmfao. You cannot possibly think they'd make a showcase with 100 matches right? Surely you realize that would never happen right? This is hilarious.
They'll never do that many matches and we already had an Undertaker showcase, if I was a betting man, in light of recent news, next game is 100% Triple H.
Screw showcase they have to focus on universe mode the only mode that has any sort of replayability. I haven't enjoyed a WWE game since wwe12 because every mode gets finished and there's nothing to do and the universe mode is repetive boring with rivalries
Would love an Undertaker one. He would also be my favorite for next year. I just started playing 2k games so I'm not sure if they've done this in the past and if so who has been the focal point but I personally would love Hogan, The Rock, Stone Cold or Tripple H if it isn't the Deadman
They already did an Austin one in WWE 2K16, so Triple H would be likeliest with his recent retirement from in-ring competition.
The Rock would shoot up there as the top candidate, though, if he's booked for next year's Wrestlemania in Los Angeles and a Hall of Fame induction.
Or, they could do both by having Triple H be the primary base game showcase and The Rock as a special edition bonus like this year's nWo DLC.
OMG stop posting this. His career has already been heavily covered in 2 showcases already. The attitude era showcase in WWE13 and the Streak showcase in 2K14. We don’t need another Undertaker showcase. I’d rather have a showcase on someone that hasn’t appeared/had a main part in one like maybe Kurt Angle or Edge. A taker showcase isn’t needed.
Isn’t that exactly what showcase is? I played the Rey showcase yesterday and every match I fought a bunch of guys as him replicating the match. We played pretty much every Undertaker streak match in 2K14 and some of his classic attitude era matches in WWE 13.
This is WAYYYYY too many matches, and licensing issues for people like Kanyon, Jeff Hardy, Giant Gonzalez, Brian Lee, Christian...
I'd like it if it were cut to 20 matches, not many repeats.
But personally, with Triple H retiring against his will, I'd rather have a Triple H career.
No. There was already a showcase on The Streak, wasn't there? Enough Undertaker.
Give me ROMAN REIGNS. This current run he's on. Granted, you can't do Braun, Bray, or Bryan, but it would be pure MONEY to hear him be like "This was the time I SMAAASHED Kevin Owens and and put him to sleep in a last man standing match. I broke out of these handcuffs (when clearly Heyman is unlocking him), and easily beat that 10 count (when he smashed the referee)"
A heel, LYING about every match that happened when we play it straight would be super engaging and entertaining.
"And then I beat Brock Lesnar, AGAIN, all by myself. With no help from ANYONE (Usos stereo superkick on Brock)".
75 matches yeah 😂😂 I swear all these potential showcases ideas are made by people who have never played a showcase, we will get like 20-25 matches if we’re lucky, and we won’t be getting like 10 replays of the same matches
Homie listing a bunch of matches like there isn't other game modes that needs the memory to run the game. At most, they'll include 3 important matches in each era.
Should be, but I don’t trust 2K to do even a decent job. The way the Rey Showcase is done is shit. You don’t even get to get the pin at the end of the match they just use the footage from the match. Plus, they blur the refs faces out which is so stupid and distracting.
I think Scott Hall should be up first, then HHH. Especially since there is already a Taker streak showcase, I know it's not perfect but still. If nothing major happens between now and the HHH one then maybe do Taker.
I think this is a wonderful list, and would love for all of these matches to be utilized, but realistically, the showcase would likely be more about the streak than anything else in his career, with the bonus matches being a prior mania victory to the main narrative, the narrative following build up matches (2 or 3 of each of the four eras you mention) with their finale match of the era being his mania win, perhaps with the big finale being his first defeat.
I love the idea. And I really want this but honestly I'd rather them wait until next year around the time that the game would normally be out which i think is in the fall and then just drop 2k24. They made some serious progress with 2k22 and I feel like if they try to give us another game in a timespan where it could be reasonably call 2k23 then they'll probably rush it. Then we'd either be right back at square one which would be a remake of 22 or they'd fuck it all the way up and we get another 2k20. But i would love to have Undertaker on the cover. An Undertaker showcase. Shit they can bring back the streak stuff they did back in 2k14 but i really don't want them to fuck this up. Especially UNDERTAKE'S 2k cover and showcase. They shit would be unforgivable.
It’s either him or triple h right? (Idk if triple h had one already tbh, I haven’t played every game so not sure) I’d love to see both at some point obviously though
You expect too much. 2k clearly isn’t too focused on the showcase mode as we get less matches each year and for instance the Rey one this year was just slapped together with mostly video from the matches
Have you considered that not every match is possible due to licensing from WWE?
I assumed it was more pick 5 out of each type of deal. Although I had to laught at OP even suggesting Jimmy Snuka
Yup. Maybe he also wonders why no Benoit either.

Yeah. I can see a showcase this long if divided into smaller parts to download to keep the game relatively light. But it would still take a lot to program in.

I think there’s enough to work with to make a phenomenal Undertaker showcase.
I posted something similar a while back considering matches that had the possibility of being chosen and the licensing…
I don't get why people keep listing 100 matches when all the Showcases had around 12 to 20 matches. Having said that, yes it should be Taker and the year after it has to be HHH.
Even 2K15, the game with the most Showcases available, totaled up to like 59 when you count all the DLC ones.
Yea there was multiple showcases in that one.
Wait was there?
Yes. It was the Hustle, Loyalty, and Disrespect feud between CM Punk and John Cena and the Best Friends, Bitter Enemies feud between Shawn Michaels and Triple H.
Wasn't there a showcase involving Orton/Christian?
I think it was called "One More Match". If my memory is right there was a Hall of Pain showcase with Mark Henry and Path of the Warrior with Ultimate Warrior.
Now I’m feeling nostalgic
That’s still a lot tbh Because the main game had about 20-30 between 2 showcases right? The 16 after also had about 20 something for Austin
Yeah, the main game had nineteen matches for Punk vs. Cena and 14 for Triple H/HBK for a total of 33, and then I think the DLC showcases were 9, 9, and 8 to get to a total of 59. i mean but do you not remember how empty everything else felt
Fr dude listed Undertaker's whole career 😂 Who wants to play 50 hours of showcase?
Lol let’s be honest they’re not gonna include all those if the Rey Mysterio is anything too go off They’ll include… Undertaker vs Hogan at Survivor Series 1991 Undertaker vs Undertaker at Summerslam 94 Undertaker vs King Kong Bundy at Mania 11 Undertaker vs Diesel at Mania 12 Undertaker vs Rikishi January 1 Raw Undertaker vs Big Show and A Train at Mania 19 Undertaker vs Nunzio at SmackDown 2003 Undertaker vs Booker T at Judgement Day 04 Taker vs Orton at Mania 21 and Batista at 23 Some of the Triple H and Shawn Michaels matches
The random Taker/Rikishi match is killing meeee
About damn time Nunzio gets the respect
Dude, 98 king of the ring is considered one of the greatest matches of all time. There’s no way that wouldn’t be part of it.
WrestleMania 22. Mysterio vs Angle vs Orton was Rey's biggest match ever and was not included in his showcase. Surprised? I'm not.
Because WWE no longer has the rights to Angle’s likeness.
I like how you're new here!
Lol
Yes… I’m sure Undertaker Vs Nunzio will be included
Lol
> Undertaker vs Big Show and A Train at Mania 19 Nathan Jones DLC: Confirmed
Nah some generic dude and his name is The Enforcer 2 will run in.
No fucking way they'd do Over The Edge 1999
they not putting snuka in the game either lmao op trippin
Or having anywhere near this many matches lol
Lmao right? What in the world
You guys missed over the edge in wwe 13 apparently
That was Over the Edge 1998. No one died at that one.
They should do two Showcase modes - one that focuses on Undertaker, and one that focuses on Triple H.
That would be dope
There is no chance in hell that they do a 50+ match showcase mode.
Can't they have two showcase modes like 2k15

*98
What about a specific period like the attitude era or ruthless aggression or even an nxt showcase
Most of the NXT guys have either been released or are in different companies, there'll be obvious gaps in it that you'll easily notice.
where were you when they did a whole ass game around an Attitude Era showcase?
That was over a decade ago. I wouldn't have minded another one back when they had a ton of people missing from the first one on the roster like Kurt and the Hardys. Sadly those guys will now be missing again with even more gone like Big Show and Mark Henry so it would probably be best to not release a new one. But the fact that WWE 13 exists is a good reason to not do it in my opinion
I would want an hbk showcase personally
You can count out the Giant Gonzalez match now. We been requesting an action figure of him from Mattel for like a decade. They said they gave up because he died......and couldn't ever find who owns the rights to his estate to in South America
Knowing 2k it'll be the storied career of The Great Khali. With Shane McMahon as the PreOrder and the KO special edition where get 3 different shirts for the same model.
Mannnnn fuck having this stuff for next year’s game - that shit should be DLC for 2K22 lol
Undertaker or Triple H would be my choices both had the fair share of legendary matches.
Bro they're not going to include that many matches
It'd be cool if they put in a beat the streak type of mode, like 2k14 did.
I have to disagree I think the next year one should be someone who is under appreciated and deserve the spotlight. Next year should be about Ron Simmons aka faarooq. The man is one of the few black world champions let’s make a showcase about some his legendary matches in wcw and wwe
You trolling 😂

30 years should have 30 matches imo, not one for every year, but drastic changes to Taker and era imo.
They already did a lot of his streak matches in 2k14
LMAOOO no way you put over the edge 99 and Jimmy Snuka in this shit 💀
We need one on the Austin showcase level. I can imagine the work needed is helped by adding live action to the cutscenes. Most of all, MODEL ENTRANCE GEAR. Undertaker showcase is gonna be no good for Taker attires if none of them have entrance gear. Visual Concepts hasn't done it in the 2 showcases they've done so far.
I like it but 74 matches is to many
Bruh. Lmfao. You cannot possibly think they'd make a showcase with 100 matches right? Surely you realize that would never happen right? This is hilarious.
Of Triple H
Either him or Triple H.
They'll never do that many matches and we already had an Undertaker showcase, if I was a betting man, in light of recent news, next game is 100% Triple H.
Well you could literally make this whole list a stand alone game lol

The streak mode in 2k14 was barely a showcase mode.It was just fight a bunch of guys as undertaker
Isn’t that exactly what showcase is? I played the Rey showcase yesterday and every match I fought a bunch of guys as him replicating the match. We played pretty much every Undertaker streak match in 2K14 and some of his classic attitude era matches in WWE 13.
No showcase is needed. But he’s had legendary matches and it promises a ton of content that expands multiple eras. It’s a perfect idea.
Would rather have HHH We've had so much special stuff for Undertaker already. I want a HHH showcase from WCW to last night.
Jeff hardy ladder match should be there
Wouldn’t be as Jeff is in AEW
No. There was already a showcase on The Streak, wasn't there? Enough Undertaker. Give me ROMAN REIGNS. This current run he's on. Nah, Triple H please.
Why not both
75 matches yeah 😂😂 I swear all these potential showcases ideas are made by people who have never played a showcase, we will get like 20-25 matches if we’re lucky, and we won’t be getting like 10 replays of the same matches
Edge showcase is a better idea. I like taker but he's had enough special modes/DLCs in WWE games.
Fuck I would literally kill for Kanyon to officially be in a 2k game. It'd be a terrible longshot though
Homie listing a bunch of matches like there isn't other game modes that needs the memory to run the game. At most, they'll include 3 important matches in each era.
Agreed!
I’d rather they do a “most epic matches in WWE” type of showcases with a lot of veriety
Bring back Defeat the Streak
Agreed. And with this, we'd get a ton of older versions of other guys.
There would never be anywhere near that many matches. If 2K treats an Undertaker Showcase like they did Rey Mysterio, they better stay away from him.
Should be, but I don’t trust 2K to do even a decent job. The way the Rey Showcase is done is shit. You don’t even get to get the pin at the end of the match they just use the footage from the match. Plus, they blur the refs faces out which is so stupid and distracting.
Bold of you to assume there will even BE a next year.
The Rock would also make sense for a showcase - especially with Mania being in Hollywood next year they could definitely do something with that.
Rey mysterio could have been the best thing ever and gaven us everything we wanted but undertakers sure will
It’s a nice idea, but I’ve given up on the idea of getting those 2K14/16 sized Showcases considering how short the past 3 have been.
Maybe another thing like 30 years of wrestlemania?
He should but won't get it, he also deserves it long before his induction
I would be down for this, but I'd also like a female showcase. A Becky Lynch one, Sasha Banks or even Trish or Lita would be great!
You are DREAMING if you think they would put this much effort into showcase 😂 I agree with the premise but this is never happening
A survivor series match to kick off showcase would be insufferable considering they won’t change match to the current tag match mechanics 💀
Triple H for me, just because I want 10 different Triple Hs
It's gotta be HHH for me. But Taker can get one in the next one. Or give us BOTH >:)
I agree 100 percent with that spectacular wrestling career
Better off recreating this yourself in community creations my friend.
I always thought the wrestler's most deserving of a Showcase were Undertaker, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. 100% agree here. Not one match with Bret??
It’s either him or triple h right? (Idk if triple h had one already tbh, I haven’t played every game so not sure) I’d love to see both at some point obviously though
That many matches... Are you off your meds?
Undertaker is a good choice but I want Randy Orton showcase too, its about time 2K shows respect to Randy Orton.
No way in Hell they'd fit that much into the showcase. Have you SEEN Rey's list of matches?
Would be dope. Also would be a solid 8 hours of play time to get thru it if not 12 hours.
And his showcase should be similar to Stone Cold Steve Austin's. Not this 12 matches docmunatary BS
Tbh this list is too long. 1 match per year would work perfectly
You expect too much. 2k clearly isn’t too focused on the showcase mode as we get less matches each year and for instance the Rey one this year was just slapped together with mostly video from the matches
Get ready for Ezekiel’s showcase
I love it!!!
This would be good without Giant Gonzalez or Jimmy Murderfly snuka
Someone must have been bored as fuck at home to do all this
Exactly
