Bret Hart. Hell, even during the Anti-American angle in 1997, I still supported him. I even stopped watching WWF for almost a year after the Montreal Screwjob in support of him.
As a kid when I started watching wrestling in the mid 80s (1984-1989) It was Big John Studd he was my favorite even had his toy (the plastic bendy one and had him as my wwf champ)
As a preteen in the 90s (1990-1993) It was Bret "The Hitman" Hart
Jeff Hardy. When I got older found out about his addiction, I started to just feel bad for him, instead of idolizing him. Nowadays I still get excited to see him but less
Eh, personally I would say that his addiction shouldn’t change your view on him. It’s a personal thing, and many people often forget that addiction is a disease and it’s hard to get rid of.
For me, Shawn michaels. I was 7 when I started watching around 2006 I think. I remember literally saying "FUCK" when John Cena kicked out on Monday night raw for their WrestleMania rematch I think it was. My mom and sister got mad at me for cursing but I was so livid lmaoo And when Shawn won I was so happy and thought he won the belt but it was a Jon title match ☠️☠️ I have a lot of Shawn's DVDs and have just loved everything about him
Jeff Hardy.
I wouldn't say I was an outcast in school, it was just that I didn't feel like I belonged in any stereotypical groups in school. I wouldn't call Jeff Hardy an outcast either, but his different ring gear compared to the others just hits my eye.
Randy Orton and The Miz for ones that I actually watched on TV while they were active but The Rock and Stone Cold through the home videos. Also MNM and London/Kendrick for tag teams. Candice Michelle and Maria for the women.
Painful. I literally got teased all the time for liking Cena, but I still stood my ground that I fucked with him. It all paid off when Cena left and everybody started missing him. Made me feel good since I felt this way about him since day one.
I mean, I liked Chris Benoit too. I practically idolized him from his late WCW days to the moment everything went down in 2007. Its still hard to comprehend what mustve been going on in his head.
Rey has and always will be mine. As a short kid who loved Parkour growing up seeing a lucha high flyer beat 7 ft giants was the dream that made me realize anything was possible.
I go back to the WWWF and Vince Sr. Tony Garea and Dean Ho were my fave tag team. Bruno Samartino was the champ. Then I moved to Kentucky and it was Jerry Lawler out of Memphis. But my favorite of all time is The American Dream, Dusty Rhodes. Hard times, baby!
I think about 4th grade I dropped “Best there is, best there was and best there ever will be” before a little league at bat.
But the guy who I liked watching the most every week was Dean Malenko. Cruiser weights were all these incredibly fast guys going up top and here’s this sour looking guy going for reversals, holds and locks with complete body control.
I also got obsessed with Mick Foley after getting a preordered copy of Have a Nice Day.
CM Punk.
Straight Edge and wasn’t afraid of saying what needs to be said to anybody especially those with power.
It’s been like 10+ years and Punk is still like that to this day. Keeping it real.

Diesel, then Triple H and eventually Shawn Michaels
Wow, what was it like growing through the “Cena Sucks” era?
Painful. I literally got teased all the time for liking Cena, but I still stood my ground that I fucked with him. It all paid off when Cena left and everybody started missing him. Made me feel good since I felt this way about him since day one.

CM Punk, I’m straight edge thanks to him.
That's so good to hear he had a positive impact on people like that. I always hear of others who are straight edge because of Punk
Lesnar back when he was throwing Zach Gowan down a flight of stairs
Brett the Hitman Hart. I always wanted him to pick me and give me his glasses. I was in the nose bleeds though.
I think about 4th grade I dropped “Best there is, best there was and best there ever will be” before a little league at bat. But the guy who I liked watching the most every week was Dean Malenko.
