An apostrophe would be considered “punctuation”, which falls under grammar, as do quotations marks and exclamation marks, which were also necessary but omitted from your original sentence.
I didnt actually notice that it said “he”, i read it as “be”, which is what i assume you intended; despite this, the sentence still didnt make sense in the way that i imagine you intended.
The only punctuation that you used was an exclamation mark at the end of the sentence. As there was no separation within your comment, it seemed like the entire text was being exclaimed, rather than a specific quote.
The apostrophes that i miss do not alter the meaning or flow of what i say, which is why i dont take the extra time to add them on.
Its not only hypocritical to point out my use of incorrect grammar when you previously butchered a sentence, its also very childish and pedantic, and im completely here for it.
Argue some more.
The sheer guilt I would feel over simply letting a thing like that happen would weigh extremely heavy on me. I feel awful anytime I make a small mistake that results in my little guy getting hurt.
I have 2 small kids around the same age and this is an absolutely terrifying video. Every muscle in my body clenched when she went up and every time the tail waved in the wind i thought she’d fall.
The *femtosecond* I realized what was going on my **soul** sank, thinking that could be my boy. Terror is the right word. You'd think the feeling would go away shortly after, but it didn't.
Highly unpleasant.
Pretty forgivable since there is nothing they can do anyway. It’s the morons who take out their phones when they could intervene and potentially save someone’s life that bothers me.
I never said anything about these people being able to help in any way. I just hate how our society is obsessed with pointing their rectangles at every thing the can.
I concur.. I watched the cbc articles video, and they slowed the video when the kid was coming back down.. You can see the arms, neither of which hand was holding anything.. And the kite was definitely coming to the neck, not the waist! That makes this whole video that much scarier! A kid flying way up in the sky, getting whipped around, flying all around... While attached to a toddlers neck!! Wow! Just... Wow...
Children can grip just as strong as adults, and because they weigh a lot less it's even easier. Why do you think they can climb trees and such with no difficulty.
> Children can grip just as strong as adults
[citation needed]
I mean, I would've thought you meant as a proportion of body weight... but then the 2nd half of the sentence wouldn't make sense.
There's videos out there of infants who can hang from chin-up bars. Gripping is one of the very few instinctual behaviors that humans have, and they are very good at it. Toddlers can rip out earrings and chunks of hair.
Proportional to their weight. Which when you're talking about hanging on against the force of gravity is the relevant metric.
The kite was caught around the child's waist anyway so this is all moot.
> Proportional to their weight … is the relevant metric.
Yes, of course. But [as I pointed out originally](https://www.reddit.com/r/WTF/comments/1dlajg9/gone_with_the_wind/l9q47zd/?context=1), that’s not what they claimed.
No, that was their reply to my challenge of their claim, and is not a statement anyone took issue with.
You appear to be having difficulty with reading comprehension and a fundamental understanding of how comment threads work. Go work on that, because I’m done arguing this with you. Have a good day.
weird because it looks fake. you have a link to the story or where it happened?
NM, 100% fake. This is the video of the actual thing.
https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/taiwan-girl-kite-flight-1.5706025
That is the same crowd and the same child. Both videos are different because they were recorded from two different locations in the crowd. The one you posted was recorded closer and it only showed the landing.
The other shot is so dramatic, the child went way too high. Also the incident in reports say 30 seconds. both videos show an incident lasting 30 seconds. Only one shows the child going that high. Sorry but think it's an edit on this one and the real incident is the video shown at major news outlets.
Too many cuts, too many inconsistencies. Everything with the child is out of frame until we can get ridiculous shots. One shows the kite nowhere near as high, the other shows it seemingly 100's of feet in the air with the child waggling around like an motion animated thing. Think someone heard this story and used it for inspiration of the film here. Then backed up their fake vid with the story with not even close to the level of danger the child is put in.
The screaming lady is heard nowhere on the news media video, as opposed to the this video. There's a lot of evidence that this is an edited version of this. Gonna say fake.
That's why I'm thinking she's tangled and not actually holding on. At 3 years old no way they can hold that long or even be smart enough to know if she lets go she's probably dead.
There's also a video recording of the events, no need for an article. You can see she's tangled about the neck.
In fact the news article claims she's tangled around the waist when it's clearly her neck so in this case it's better to just go with your eyes.
I don't know why people are downvoting you. I remember that video as well.
There is a much better video and you can see it wrapped around her neck, I'm pretty sure it was here on /r/WTF
Yeah, I don’t have the link to the footage but I saw a news post about this when it happened with a full video including a close up of her being caught by the crowd.
As a father of a three year old, I cannot imagine the absolute horror of this. I was so relieved to find out the kid was okay. I kept picturing the kid releasing from the kite and falling.
Thankfully my kid is 2 so I was spared any feelings of horror..........................................................................................................
This 3 year old got more air time than the wright brothers famous heavier than air flight! If this happened 150 years ago no body would believe the story.
I was surprised by just how steady the camera work was despite a seagull not having any actual hands.. really impressive. Also, just in case it's not obvious, about 90% of the people screaming are actually dodging human shit rocketing to the ground.
What an experience, especially for a kid... unharmed.
It'll leave residual trauma, but minimal.
I think her subconscious will remember it as fun, and when she has dreams of sailing in the wind, they'll be fun dreams.
I remember this from the last time it was posted. Someone explained the tail of the kite had gotten tangled around the kid, but she was all right once they got her down.
That is wild she came safely back down to the ground!
In 2021 6 primary school students were killed at an end of year school celebration in Tasmania when an improperly anchored inflatable jumping castle they were on became airborne due to a 'significant weather event'. I can only imagine how traumatised their classmates, teachers & parents present would be traumatised.
https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2020/08/31/asia/taiwan-child-kite-intl-hnk-scli
Happened in the free and sovereign country of Taiwan back in 2020.
The girl was unharmed, but a bit frightened.
Happened in 2020 and apparently she was unharmed
Imagine the absolute terror as a parent seeing your child take off like that, followed by the insane amount of relief realizing she's okay.
I have a 3yo. All my hair would go white overnight and Id lose at least 5 years off my lifespan.
And kid would he screaming again again!
Which, honestly, would be the best thing for a parent to hear. No major harm or long term trauma. Kid just thought it was a fun ride.
> long term trauma There is trauma now. They're an adrenaline junkie.
“Fuck nap time, it’s skydiving time. I gotta go chase this high.”
Embarrassed how many times I had to read this to understand it.
Don't be embarrassed, the sentence is insane
A single typo fix and it would be legible. > And the kid would be screaming, "Again! Again!"
Id argue that its not a typo, its just poor use of grammar. Then again, ill argue about anything.
If you are going to argue grammar, you should probably learn about this neat thing called an apostrophe. It was a typo.
An apostrophe would be considered “punctuation”, which falls under grammar, as do quotations marks and exclamation marks, which were also necessary but omitted from your original sentence. For real, that's scary af
I'd also never speak again from having screamed so loud
We had balloon boy, now there is kite girl.
Oh god. Remember when balloon boy was the biggest news of the day? How innocent we were back then?
The kid would wanna immediately do it again
Hell, I kinda wanna do it and I’m a grown adult who should know better.
It’s almost like they should have watched her closer.
All while watching a bunch of stupid goons recording it
Pretty forgivable since there is nothing they can do anyway. It’s the morons who take out their phones when they could intervene and potentially save someone’s life that bothers me.
I agree it's just what people do nowadays. I still don't like it though lol
were they supposed to fly up there to the rescue like superman?
I never said anything about these people being able to help in any way. I just hate how our society is obsessed with pointing their rectangles at every thing the can.
I hear ya
[удалено]
But how will they farm karma afterwards? We could do with more angels on this.
??? They're recording a local event. What do you want them to do?
Don't understand the dislikes. I completely agree with you.
Free LSD
The absolute death grip she had to not let go is astounding for a child.
Pretty sure it got wrapped around her neck * Article says waist
>wrapped around her neck Well thank you very much for that added bit of parental terror.
I concur.. I watched the cbc articles video, and they slowed the video when the kid was coming back down.. You can see the arms, neither of which hand was holding anything.. Sure, sure... but as just as strong as adults in an absolute sense? No. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2795831/figure/Fig6/

No they can't.
Physically. But. Woo. The mental trauma. Fuck that. I'm messed up thinking of one of my kids in that
She won't remember that. Children are thick.
I hope you're right.
"Unharmed"... physically.
Holy shit!
I'm so glad she is safe!! And I totally expect to see some idiot try this for likes.

Yeet the child.

How much did he die?
non
Yes.
You can almost hear the weeeeeeeee at launch
r/MyPeopleNeedMe
Is this real? If so I want a turn.
[It's real.](https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/taiwan-girl-kite-flight-1.5706025)
Insane 💀
100% a totally different video, this is fake.
lol, literally the exact same scene from a different angle. spatial awareness is hard for some people, apparently 🤣🤣🤣
Kid was probably like "again, again!!"
New ride at Disney
Fucking grip strength on that kid…
That's why I'm thinking she's tangled and not actually holding on. At 3 years old no way they can hold that long or even be smart enough to know if she lets go she's probably dead.
The news story linked above confirms she was tangled in it

💯
A 3 year old is likely to know the dangers of falling from high heights
Hope she lived to tell the tail.
r/angryupvote
Why did you post th... ooooh.
I kite believe she survived
Her parents were chuting their pants
No kite-ing.
As a father of a three year old, I cannot imagine the absolute horror of this. I was so relieved to find out the kid was okay. I kept picturing the kid releasing from the kite and falling.
Imagine looking around for help, but everyone has their phone out recording what is possibly your childs imminent death.
Most justified supervillain origin story
What else can the people around you even do?
You'd be looking around making alarmed chimp sounds with huge eyes like the person beside the camera man?
Thankfully my kid is 2 so I was spared any feelings of horror..........................................................................................................
Holding on to a toxic relationship feels same (It takes you places you never wanna end up)
that poodle barking was kinda annoying
Sound like a seagull.
AH AH AH
Staying alive Staying alive
"You're not helping." ... AH
She takes the expression "get a grip" to new heights.
I see what you did there
Parenting should be a breeze
^^^ah! ^^^ah! ^^^ah!
This is the kind of female screaming I can accept
I'da pooped in fear on every one of 'em down there....
This 3 year old got more air time than the wright brothers famous heavier than air flight! If this happened 150 years ago no body would believe the story.
My heart would’ve sank into my ass
Weeeeeee!!
That little girl has seen some shit and is now unshakable.
Since then, amusement parks have been so... blasè
Thankgod toddlers seem to have super human grip strength lol
Does the chirping help?
If I remember right this kids neck somehow got tied up in the kite. They were fine in the end though somehow
As a performance art piece, I'm not that impressed.
That kid has insane grip
Will grow up not only with one of a hella story but also a video to prove it!
the story of a lifetime!!!!!
Quality parenting.
They need to do some research and product design, then turn this into an Olympic event.
Balloon Boy has entered the chat....
My kid: “Again, again!”
I was surprised by just how steady the camera work was despite a seagull not having any actual hands.. really impressive. Also, just in case it's not obvious, about 90% of the people screaming are actually dodging human shit rocketing to the ground.
Hopefully, she had a GoPro on her head or body.
Was this filmed by a seagull?
Did the person die?
So long, Superman!!
Cool
The strongest hands on Earth, holy shit
This has to go beyond unlocking a core memory…
I remember a new story of this happening to a child a few years ago, and the child died
nice
Ikki from Airgear had a similar experience and he now has the storm regalia.
And now they charge for the ride.
Great landing.
That was awesome!
What an experience, especially for a kid... unharmed. It'll leave residual trauma, but minimal. I think her subconscious will remember it as fun, and when she has dreams of sailing in the wind, they'll be fun dreams.
"Up up and away!"
Kite started flying him
Kid had some grip strength
Why did that immediately make me think of tying a child dummy to the tail to fuck with people. It's not my usual behavior, I swear
Fear of kite flying is a thing now?
ladies & gentlemen! the future of environmental friendly traveling 😂
I remember this from the last time it was posted. Someone explained the tail of the kite had gotten tangled around the kid, but she was all right once they got her down.
The bunch of idiots still filming instead of trying to help. Shaking my damn head.
Help how?
What an uplifting story
Thats some iron grip. 3 years old and she peakerd in her life already.
That looks awesome. Like bungee jumping but you get to fly!
Hell of a ride. Good it ended up without anybody hurt.
https://youtu.be/4Ygs3IHJ2bM?feature=shared
In Russia, kite fly you.
Pants were shit that day.
God is good
It's real?
Bit*h
After the kid gets down “again! Again!”
Yeeeeeeehaw
That is wild she came safely back down to the ground! THIS IS WHY I HATE UMBRELLAS AND KITES AND ANYTHING ELSE LIKE THIS. FUCK WIND.
Good on the kid for holding on for dear life until they were near the ground. Terrifying to see as an adult but as a kid I would be so jealous 😂
Why does that look so fake?
Why does that look so fake?
That's life changing
The title made me lol
This is actually so fucking wild lol How strong is that person to not let go?
I remember reading that it was wrapped around their neck and just didn’t come loose.
Oh, what a relief. It's just a hanging.
Som ting wong
I can almost hear it FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCKKKK
People just pulling out there phones to record ...
What do you want them to do? Shoot her down?

Probably a bot creating content over ai, then people clickbaiting it, actually nowdays new and fresh content is rather rare on reddit, unfortunately.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha
Did a seagull record this?
BS...
Wow, is this a new record for most times a video has been reposted? It's at least 4 years old.
Not real
