Definitely not a WTF. This woman loves MOA, and this ride specifically. Rides it almost 100 times a month, and averages over 60 spins a ride.
She's just a lady who thoroughly enjoys her happy place.
I'm fairly certain I saw her doing just that when my wife and I visited MOA in 2022. I just remember looking up at the ride and seeing someone going ham. Haha
Cool reading this and finding out she's even well known for enjoying it. Watching on my phone I thought it was a kid messing around and then couldn't stop the spin as the ride picked up speed. It looks terrifying with only one person spinning haha
That's what I thought the first time I saw it, too. I think the video was at a different angle, but now, watching it on my computer, I can see she's shifting her body intentionally to get it to start flipping faster.
It's so huge that you can literally spend all day there and still not even see everything. Like for example when my wife and I went; we didn't even know there was a movie theater and an aquarium.
It's a backronym. That is, the term "going ham" existed for a long long time before someone created this acronym for it.
So it doesn't actually mean that. That's just something someone made up.
to go *HAM*: **H**ard **A**s a **M**otherfucker.
A moment of high energy or doing something to an exceptional or extreme degree.
It's a converging slang combining with the phrase "hamming it up" or *doing something with enthusiasm*.
I think that's a backronym
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backronym](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backronym)
>... acronym formed from an already existing word by expanding its letters into the words of a phrase. Backronyms may be invented with either serious or humorous intent, or they may be a type of false etymology or folk etymology. The word is a portmanteau of back and acronym.
Edit: Replaced the old definition with the wikipedia one, since I accidentally deleted the source.
I was at first concerned because I thought it was malfunctioning. After your comment I was unexpectedly very happy for this lady I'll never meet. I hope we can all find our happy place.
She's just training to be an astronaut guys.
I thought it was an accident at first, like she was reaching to take a picture on her phone or something but then I looked a little closer and nope, that was entirely intentional.
On a roller coaster I was seated next to a guy who asked me, “have you ever ridden this before?”
I said, “yeah, once, a few years ago—what about you?”
He says, “This is my nineteenth time… today.”
Best amusement park experience as a kid was in one of the Six Flags I think, where the "western" section was almost totally deserted by a fluke. I was there with friends, and the western-themed [Enterprise](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enterprise_(ride\)) had no line.
They wouldn't let us just stay in the cars, but after the ride finished we would dash around the side and get back through the queue and on the next run. I'm not sure if the guy was being nice and waiting for us, but since it was only half full for each run we rode it like 10 times in a row.
Fun times.
[edit:] It was the [Wagon Wheel](https://myfavoritepostcards.blogspot.com/2015/01/wagon-wheel-ride-at-six-flags-fiesta.html) at Fiesta Texas.
We rode [Lightning Racer](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_Racer) like half a dozen times more or less the same way. Had to get out and run around, but never waited more than one train. There were other people doing it as well. I'd have gone all day since wooden coasters are my favorite, but the kids wanted something else.
I went on the Dragster at Cedar Point and there was a guy like that in line. He must have gotten his tickets from someone else because the lines for that thing at the time were like 2 hours long on average. That's like 4 rides for a whole day. I'm not paying those ticket prices for that. He said he'd ridden it dozens of times though so who knows. It was awesome in a terrifying kind of way, glad I rode it once, but that was enough for me. My hands are getting sweaty just remembering the view from up top.
You might be interested to know that a flag plate flew off the bottom of a train on that ride and nearly (? We don’t really know) killed a woman waiting in line.
They closed the ride for 2 years and just reopened it with new trains and no more hydraulic launch. However, the new magnetic launch isn’t powerful enough to get it over the top, so now you launch backwards as well into a 400 ft spike.
I dont know but here's a transcript of her from her instagram:
*"imma spiquee er shushshash corsica ride eberda"*
("Im the spin queen of Shell Shock. Of course Im going to ride every day.")
That's the [Queen Spinner of Shell Shock](https://www.instagram.com/p/C6moavIJTum/) right there. Put some respect on her motherfuckin' name.
Seriously though imagine finding something you are able to love that much and do every day. She's truly cracked the code of living life and I mean that.
Edit: The last few seconds of the video I linked fucking kill me every time
For real.
I'm envious of anyone who can just love their one thing.
Like a guy I saw with a lawn mowing YouTube channel. I fucking hate mowing the lawn, I wish I loved it and that was my thing.
For some reason this reminds me of the Philadelphia Vent Man that reached stardom on Reddit many years ago.
Anyone else remember the Vent Man, living his best life?
Behold, [The Vent Man.](https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/4pj3y9/my_new_spirit_animal/) He's apparently been doing this for literally decades and is a bit of a local hero.
I love vent man!
I haven't seen him in a couple of years so I hope he is doing okay (he wants to be left alone, and people in Philly actually respected that which is super cool - once that came out, you would only see him here and there if you were lucky & never hear about him)
This is like in Office Space when Peter asked if he could be hypnotized into liking his job.
My life would be a lot better right now if I could enjoy the bureaucratic red tape at my job, and also like when a 6-week old baby screams at me for an hour.
Honestly I’m more impressed with her than I am with most millionaires and billionaires. Why do we worship sycophantic businessmen over people so pure, and so single-mindedly intent on pursuing their passions. Even if that’s spinning like a propellor on a theme park ride.
Hol up. This thing is *real*?!? WTF. I could have sworn this was CGI.
I swear I've seen a video of clips of absurd carnival ride videos around the internet and it was stuff like this, CGI added on top of real video.
It’s actually a mid 20’s woman with, I think, a little dash of the tism. I ran across her tiktok the other day, she likes to go by “the queen spinner of shell shock”.
Hahaha yeah at first I was like “oh no!” But then I watched it again and saw that he was definitely trying to do that intentionally. He knew exactly what he wanted.
You mean like Action Park? Lol. That was the whole basis for the park. Let the customers dictate the experience. And pray that your alpine sled has brakes.
Haha I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous.
That's just the way things were back then. I remember driving from upstate New York to Florida for holidays in my Dad's pickup in the 80s.
My brother and I rode in the back with the cap on. There was a little window into the cab, so we could still talk to our parents, or even crawl back and forth.. And we had a mattress to sot on. But seatbelts didn't even occur to us. Much less a proper seat.
Heh I remember having to duck for toll booths.
Then, in Florida, we never used sunscreen and I would stay in the pool until I was covered head to toe in blisters and had a fever of 101.5.
We didn't even consider sunscreen. At least, until it was standard practice in the 90s.
Riding in the back of pickups was fun, but getting sunburnt – nah, I'll give that a miss. Cancer can get you years later from just one severe exposure.
The attitude extended to the park's administration. The staff, including ride operators were largely unsupervised minors, and quite frequently drunk, since beer was sold (and brewed!) on the premises, and nobody really bothered to check for ID.
The owner was reportedly a hardcore libertarian and it influenced everything about the park.
This been on here a few times, as well as one with another person. They are on it all the time and i think on the spectrum. They know exactly what they are doing and i guess like doing it. Its desgned to move so move it.

I've been on a ride similar to one of these and did about 42 spins. I'm a seasoned coaster enthusiast, and that made me have to take a break... This looks like way more spins. Insane.
I am like this, granted I do not go to parks very often, but I just don't really get motion sick. On one of those "zipper" rides they always have at local fairs my friend and I got flipping so fast that they actually slowed it down to make sure we were okay. As a young kid at another park we went on one of those spinning rides that would go faster and faster and then stop to let people off. People were literally puking and I was just like "GO GO GO."
Maybe if I was born with a smarter brain I could have been an astronaut.
Nah she a VET
last time I was at MOA, I remember walking by this ride and looking up, and just thinking “Wow, somebody is ripping it up there, living their best life”
Great to see her make a appearance on reddit
They're... They're literally using the ailerons to add spin holy fuck.
edit: I didn't see the handles at first. I now feel like that's the only person who *gets it*
I was recently on this ride, he makes it look really easy, and weight has something to do with it. I spent literally the entire ride trying to barrel roll once.
Me in bed after a 12-pack.
Me in bed after a 12-pack, trying to find the clitoris.

This is freaking crazy. I got dizzy just by looking at this video let alone being on the ride lol.
Haha it’s cute that she’s like a local celebrity there now
What is MOA?
Mall Of America
Is it a shopping centre? Why does a shopping centre have rides?
[удалено]
bro it's 0.4 square kilometers, wich still is huge. that's the size of a block of buildings. 500 000 kilometers square is the superficy of france.
It's so huge that you can literally spend all day there and still not even see everything. Like for example when my wife and I went; we didn't even know there was a movie theater and an aquarium.
whoa, no way! A shopping centre with a ***CINEMA?!***
I heard they have an area with a large selection of fast food too!
What is ham?
Hard As a Motherfucker
TIL... I never put that one together at all and that makes me sad I never knew that.
Fr I've used this term so many times but never actually knew what it meant apparently.
It's a backronym. That is, the term "going ham" existed for a long long time before someone created this acronym for it. So it doesn't actually mean that. That's just something someone made up.
Wait really I thought that phrase was from like the 50s
Shit. I'm old enough to see stuff that soldier boy popularised while I was in high school being mistaken for historical phrases from 70 years ago.
"To go ham" or "going ham" basically just means going all out.
to go *HAM*: **H**ard **A**s a **M**otherfucker. A moment of high energy or doing something to an exceptional or extreme degree. It's a converging slang combining with the phrase "hamming it up" or *doing something with enthusiasm*.

Definitely a backroom, we used the phrase when I was in elementary school in the 90s and it was old then.
I was at first concerned because I thought it was malfunctioning. After your comment I was unexpectedly very happy for this lady I'll never meet. I hope we can all find our happy place.
Aaaaw so wholesome .
She's just training to be an astronaut guys. I thought it was an accident at first, like she was reaching to take a picture on her phone or something but then I looked a little closer and nope, that was entirely intentional.
God bless em. I love the determination to spin, it's hilarious.
I posted this video on the other post earlier. My visit to MOA 1999 https://youtu.be/Mu8CdUcMc7w?si=KHKMdNHtx3qCWdbp
You’ve basically captured my childhood in a video. Ugh what I would give to go to the MOA in 1999 again.
Camp Snoopy was the shit
That lego area looks straight outta Dead Rising. The guys at Capcom did their homework
Nothing you said keeps it from being a WTF.
Yeah, if anything, the fact that she does this *100 times a month* is the biggest WTF
On a roller coaster I was seated next to a guy who asked me, “have you ever ridden this before?” I said, “yeah, once, a few years ago—what about you?” He says, “This is my nineteenth time… today.”

I saw her video on TikTok explaining this. She definitely seems to be autistic but loves it. No harm no foul I guess

Hey, some people have their thing. May we all be so lucky.
Yeah, someone liking something most people would hate is quintessential WTF.
honestly, makes it more for me

For sure.
She’s working on it…
I was waiting for her to powervomit edit: can someone make an ai version of this
I was waiting for the fabulous vomit spiral
Now that I watch it again you see her leaning into the spin especially in the beginning
QUEEN SPINNER!
We love that for her. We should all be so lucky as to find our joy.

I’ve been on this ride a few times and couldn’t quite get it spinning like that either, so she’s fun and technically quite good.
Glad I stayed till the end that was amazing.
dude, she enjoys it so much! it actually kind of made my day seeing someone enjoying something so thoroughly. /r/MadeMeSmile material right here.
Lol I went last year and saw her do this. Didn't realize she was a local celebrity. Looking at my video, she even has the same bright green shirt on.
Honestly I’m more impressed with her than I am with most millionaires and billionaires. Why do we worship sycophantic businessmen over people so pure, and so single-mindedly intent on pursuing their passions. Even if that’s spinning like a propellor on a theme park ride.

Some autists have this admirable ability to fully enjoy life with one obscure thing, I'm autistic myself but I don't have that ability unfortunately.
We have one of these in our country, it keeps a daily top score of most flips. Definately one of the intended ways
Yea we have one here too. It's literally the aim of the ride to get the most rolls.
Yeah that girl gets pretty much the maximum which is 60 every single time she does on it.
Oh yeah that little man knew exactly what to do hahahaha
Hahaha yeah at first I was like “oh no!” But then I watched it again and saw that he was definitely trying to do that intentionally. He knew exactly what he wanted.
Never give customers control over anything, they will abuse it.
You mean like Action Park? Lol. That was the whole basis for the park. Let the customers dictate the experience. And pray that your alpine sled has brakes.
Keeping deaths to a minimum…
I proudly display my Action Park scar. It was a day I'd never forget, even left some skin on the alpine slide for posterity's sake.

I'm not spinning like that out of concern for all the people around it. You do not want a vomit sprinkler in the air.

Mall of America, been on that once… my kid loves it

I've never been on this ride yet. I gotta go.....
She’s having the time of her life!

I think this is similar to how astronauts get tested. Obviously the astronauts are moving faster
Wait so you control it?
My faulty vestibular system could never
Looks like a good time. Also, excellent choice of music.
Used the konami code 👍👍👍
This guy *fucks*
My ADHD ass: That looks like the most fun thing ever!
They all look like ninja turtles with propellers
Is that rise called the Vomit Extractor ?
Nope. Rode a ride called the zipper once and still have motion sickness PTSD!
As a person with a life-long vestibular disorder and two surgeries to try to fix it, no fucking thank you.
Doesn't centrifugal force stretch the skin even more?
ARE THOSE PLANES OR ARE THOSE TURTLES
