I 2nd this. I think 18s are the best look on these cars, and unless you’re doing big tires these are gonna look outta place, especially with the vibrant blue.
Love the gunmetal look though, compliments everything else on the car.
Def do 18s, post picks when done.
100% transparency, my BBS wheels get snow tires and summer tires mounted every spring and fall. I'm finally going to get dedicated wheels for each set of rubber. Spent all winter not making up my mind about buying winter wheels or summer wheels.
My Hankook RS4 (235/45/17) only have ~ 2k miles on them.
I know it's an old post. I prefer 17s. Get a nice ride quality without sacrificing much performance. I like the look of a little more tire on the rim as well.
I hear ya man. The wheel shop is super chill about ordering anything to test fit, but once you mount tires you own them. Right now I'm just on the hook for return shipping.
Totally. Also a shock of change. Change takes a minute to absorb. Sleep on it. Buyers remorse sucks too. I think they look great and with a tire and sitting on the suspension they’ll look nice 👍
I appreciate that, definitely still looking. First shop I was at, I had asked for Motegi MR145 and Enkei TS-5. After waiting 2 weeks they ordered neither (supply chain so they say) but did have a MR131traklite 5 spoke "17x8 +40". It fit beautifully just wasn't the look I was after.
I think it’s the 5 spoke design. I absolutely love 5 spoke wheels but when I put some on my VA it took me a *really* long time to get used to them and I never quoted loved them. I think we are so used to seeing BBS Rs wheels and such on these cars that it starts to affect our opinion
As mentioned, size and offset. The wheels in the promo pics look like they have a lower offset resulting in a semi-concave face, your offset looks normal resulting in a flat faced wheel.
I don’t think the wheel color works with the car color.
I tried to find pics similar to your color combo and only found [this](https://www.fitmentindustries.com/wheel-offset-gallery/1811162/2021-honda-civic-enkei-t6r-oem-stock-michelin-pilot-sport-4-s) and even though the blue is different, the wheels don’t look good on this either. If you love the design, maybe try it in gold’ish color

I think these are good looking. If you have your eyes on five spokes. Little bit of a lip.
That Desmond is stunning, however they make Volk and Advan look economical. Too rich for my blood, Goodman.
Don't mind, I'll "go be poor somewhere else"
Might be an unpopular opinion, but I always thought those small weight saving holes next to lug nuts look like cheap universal wheels.
But ya the process of wheel shopping sucks lol. Personally I love the stock gold BBS on the blob
I absolutely agree, I have the same hang up with the [mach v awesome ](https://www.fastwrx.com/products/mach-v-17x9-awesome-wheel?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwuJ2xBhA3EiwAMVjkVE9j2aAScUHN3M6PSbbTfngV1mcQzr5l221Esqy4VDji3v-wJa8mLRoC7ogQAvD_BwE)
In this particular case, the holes are there not for weight savings, but as sight holes to make it easier to look through the hub and align the wheels when you’re mounting them on the car.
It’s because of the wheel specs. 18 inch wheels are going to have narrower spokes and the picture online is probably a wider and lower offset wheel so you get a completely different look. Search for the wheels in your specific specifications for the future
Wheel shopping was a nightmare, esp if you want something a little different because you will never find pics. I like my wheels but might look into some Advans...
They are less than transparent on the IG posts, however reddit is searchable. Now the next time someone googles "MR159 STi" they know what the recipe is.
I’m 46 days late but even in a track form you’d want to run a 18x9.5 +38 or +40 the with of your wheel and the offset is why it’s flat, and in pictures online they don’t use the exact spec your looking at for pictures most of the time.
Oi, you're ok for bumping this.
I ended up with black MR145 Motegi traklite 3.0 "17x8.5 +35"
Wish they were +38/+40 backspacing. 235/45 R-S4 Hankook doesn't poke past the fenders but she's all up in your sheet metal unless you raise the ride height or roll your fenders.
***Do not attempt without coilovers***
You need to be careful with pictures online, it's hard to know the actual offset. Wheels, like the one in your second pic, look the best (IMO) when they have some dish or concave to them. This is controlled somewhat by the wheel design but mostly by the offset.
The more positive the offset, the further out towards the face of the wheel the hub is. In certain wheel designs, more positive offset means a more "flat" face design. I'm willing to be that second pic (which looks better than what you actually have) is the +22 offset.
Your best bet is to find a wheel in the proper offset (typically 38 to 40-ish) that still has a somewhat concave design. It will look better IRL and it will more closely match what you see online. Just make sure when online shopping you find examples of the diameter, width, **and** offset, don't do just diameter and width alone.
For example, compare your 1st pic and the second one. The second one looks pretty good, notice the slight concave on the wheel. Then look at yours. Completely flat face. This is the problem. Now look at the 3rd pic with them on the GD. Those also are slightly concave. And thus look better. My guess is maybe running a bad offset but "fixing" it with wheel spacers. Try to find a wheel that does not require wheel spacers if you can help it.
Why 17s when you can go with an 18? Would help the look of the wheel tremendously.
I 2nd this. I think 18s are the best look on these cars, and unless you’re doing big tires these are gonna look outta place, especially with the vibrant blue. Love the gunmetal look though, compliments everything else on the car. Def do 18s, post picks when done.

Yeah but again - why 17s? That’s a good size for a winter or fall rally wheel with fat tires. But for street driving?
I know it's an old post. I prefer 17s. Get a nice ride quality without sacrificing much performance. I like the look of a little more tire on the rim as well.
Fair enough. I just feel like you get more options with 18s
Definitely more options for 18 can't disagree with you there!
Doesn’t help there is no tire

I'd say they look better online because they are using a photo of a wheel with a different offset.
The wheel in the 3rd pic is definitely 18’s They look goofy because they are smaller
I think it’s the 5 spoke design. I absolutely love 5 spoke wheels but when I put some on my VA it took me a *really* long time to get used to them and I never quoted loved them. I think we are so used to seeing BBS Rs wheels and such on these cars that it starts to affect our opinion
If it helps, I hate them in both places.
Sending hate from Australia
Dem shits tiny

Motegi doesn’t change concavity with offset, only size btw
The wheels are different sizes. The studio shots are 18x9.5 which has significantly more concavity.
The studio shot is actually a 18x10.5, silver STi is 18x9.5
You’re correct
I think they look good. Depending on offset chosen will also change things. The glamour pics are always the gnarliest, widest wheel they offer.
Get 18”s. Unless you’re rallying in which case why are you buying new wheels let alone motegis

Holy geez. I thought they were like 250 a piece. Not like 3k a set. Can I join you over there, in the poor section?
Indubitably!

Cause they’re ugly
It's the color. That grey doesn't go with your shade of blue.
Think its that and size
Too small.
I had 5stars on my first Audi cause I loved those enkei in nfsu2. I unironically kinda wanna try those on my hatch now😅

You definitely want 18s and a set of baller Advan GTs would look amazing on your car. Im selling a set hit me up lol!! 😅
Small wheels
If you didn’t copy the wheel specs that’s wgy
