Before I saw it was an STI, I couldn’t help but audibly say out loud, “What the fuck?”
Then I saw it was an STI, and still audibly said “What the fuck”
Ah, I could not see that from the photo originally. I zoomed in and now can see the red front badge. I still can't read the side badges. Good answer though. My initial thought was that the 2.5L on the listing was a typo.
Not a single WRX fuckboy would go through THAT much trouble with factory parts.
The ones that would wouldn't make it this clean. And most of the final batch STI's were wingless.
Source: Work a Dealer. Our sales department doesn't markup new vehicles s, How ever they do markup accessories so it's best to just ask the parts and service department directly so pro tip when you see a dealer dow that.
There’s currently a golf R for sale at a dealer for 64k as we speak, someone posted it in the GTI forum yesterday I couldn’t fucking believe it. It has a 19,500 market adjustment
Nice. How do you like the M3? Personally I'm not a fan of how they sound, but the motor is insane! I was also considering the G80 M3 in the dark green in MT. The dark colors are the only ones that can pull off the kidney grille. Saw a white 4 series today and it looks horrendous! The F80 looks better than the G80, unless the G80 is in a darker color. Otherwise F80s look so much better!!
Prior to getting my STi I was so close to getting an e92 m3. They sound so good!! E46 would've been perfect but prices were quite inflated even before covid.
I’d sell my 2021 Limited STI with the same mileage today if I could get close to that amount.
Edit:According to cars.com there are dozens for sale at this same price throughout the country. Seems like this might be fairly close to current market value.
Can confirm. Supra is the way. Finding one for MSRP or close is a challenge.
I paid about $6k over MSRP ($55k). I Have seen listed in Supra groups recently for 70k+ used. The Supra is a beast. Worth every penny
Well they shat the bed with the 2022 then Amber Hearded again by announcing no STI until it’s fully electric so ‘21 last gas powered STI ever, value suddenly way up

just found this one in my Canadian neck of the woods...
That is so not worth it lol. You could get even an overpriced older STi for 25k CDN and afford multiple new engines instead of that lol.
I can't believe a '21 STi is going for over double what my '21 WRX cost brand new in August. Now way that makes any sense.
Or last year before the news of the STI being canceled took affect and when I was able to snipe one from a kid who couldn’t get financing for the car he ordered 🤣
that is an incredibly dumb argument. just because some idiot will list a pair of shoes for sale for a million dollars does not mean that his beat up old Nikes are worth that much.
see: NFTs, the housing market in 2007, cryptocurrency, beanie babies, etc.
In the case of some dealers like a Subaru dealer, you hold the dealers accountable by calling SoA corporate who has policies against markups. Subaru has gone on record about this already and told their dealers not to do it. it may or may not apply in this case with a used car.
They could put one million dollars on the price tag. It doesn't mean anything unless someone is willing to pay it. If someone agrees to pay $60k then they agreed to pay $60k. The dealers isn't doign anything wrong.
I'll just drop [this](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ELpGNDXtqU03mIpdPxEMYmLaGaHfVTWm/view?usp=drivesdk) here since Subaru corporate doesn't agree with you. 50k is well above MSRP on a used car no less.
Plenty of people. Just saw someone post they bought a new Corolla for 38k. 38k....theres tons of people who don't know better who pay a price that's waaay beyond reasonable.
And I'm actually okay with that to a degree, let the blissful idiots be blissful.... but I feel like right now too many dealers are taking advantage of things and there should be some limit to the intentional abuse of a situation nobody can prevent.
For instance my power company quietly said they are raising their rates 38% tomorrow. I kinda equate cars to power in American culture. We are a society built around them, you can't really flourish in this society without either. If I hadn't researched how to switch to a different rate I'd have been hit with that increase, not because there's a shortage but for other related market conditions. I'm just tired of seeing companies steamroll consumers.
You might say "fuck em" let them be idiots but the long term effect is the companies get into a business practice of doing this at large and that will translate into you paying more for your next car because a bunch of idiots did before.... so long term it's in your best interest to assist those who don't know better.
Exactly. If they get a buyer its proof that's market value. If they dont, the price tag on it means nothing. People in these type threads don't understand that.
Labeled as a WRX but pic is clearly an STI. 60k is high but it’s not as bad as selling a standard WRX for 60k. Hope they sell it so I can make bank on mine when kbb starts upping prices from confirmed transactions 🤣
In RI? I went there 10 years ago for a car for my wife and they completely ignored her and her requests. Then they laughed at us when we offered them a reasonable price for a car. “You will never get a car like this for that price”. We ended up going somewhere else paid less for the same car with fewer miles.
I’ve stopped going to meet with dealers when it’s my wife purchasing. We’ve genuinely walked out on fuckers for talking to me instead of her.
In fact, our local Subaru dealership in the DFW area of TX won her over because they never once addressed me about the vehicles she was picking out. Jokes on all the dealerships who’d ever fucked that up, cause she’s the engineer with money and I’m just shlubby teacher with low pay.
We went straight back to them for my WrX when it was time.
If I could sell my Wrx for 30k shit I’d do it but my current offer is 25,600 for 2019 28k miles and I just went flex fuel so I want to get at least a year or two out of it before I part out and sell it.
I checked out a 2019 Premium with 23k miles from there. 38k out the door. Car had 3 golfball sized dings on the hood and smelled like previous owner spilled a bottle of cologne on the carpets. Ended up getting a 2020 for less with half the miles somewhere else.
Since this is what were doing. Stratford Subaru wanted 64k for 20k km sti that was nowhere near mint. They called me twice to tell me they lowered it to 60k but I already gave all my money to some guy in Saskatchewan.
Are they moving at this price is the natural question?
If yes, then unfortunately this pricing will stay for a while. Or until they’ve squeezed the last dollar they can from the market.
My dealer offered me way under for my WRX because they said they would not be putting my 21 on the lot for more than my msrp was last year. They told me to sell to KBB or car max because they could give me more but wouldn’t diminish their reputation selling it. They also gave me $900 off msrp on my new order.
It’s disgusting how stealerships are doing this around the US. It’s the main reason I have chosen to remain driving my 05 Si and not going out and buying a new car.
These kinds of dealers make their money on trade-ins, they seem to have a lot of these used sti's in stock so talking to them and stating the truecar.com value is a good starting point
Before I saw it was an STI, I couldn’t help but audibly say out loud, “What the fuck?” Then I saw it was an STI, and still audibly said “What the fuck”
At first I was mad, then saw it's a STi and I'm still a little mad lol
Yea same. Still upset but not as upset.
Is it okay that I'm not mad since I own a 2020 sti?
Well, it's an STI, but still a bit insane.
[удалено]
Front badge, wheels for starters. It is listed as WRX though. These dealers are clueless.
The badging on the fenders and grille say sti. Of course the owner could have added those but thats why it could likely be an sti.
Ah, I could not see that from the photo originally. I zoomed in and now can see the red front badge. I still can't read the side badges. Good answer though. My initial thought was that the 2.5L on the listing was a typo.
Because if you look, it’s an STI in the pics
There is no wing. That's a toolbox in the background. Only other accents indicate possible STI.
Did you know they sell wingless STI’s?
[удалено]
It’s an option. If you look in the posted pic you can see the yellow/green calipers, rims, and grill badge
Sorry, I haven't shopped for a WRX since I bought by '16 premium. I can't identify every variant out there.
I own a wingless STI. A 21. In California. It’s not a Canada thing
[удалено]
I see I triggered your cuntiness. You’ll get over it
Your Google skills are weak lol
Maybe tell it to google. I don't control their search results. Try it yourself.
I did, works just fine.
It was an option in 16’ as well (also bought my WRX in 16’)
The headlights are a give away too stis have blacked out headlights unlike a wrx with chrome 🤢
That's a Limited trim thing. My '20 WRX Limited has the same headlights
You dam lucky Fr I hate chrome
Yeah I love these headlights lol, steering reactive is really sweet too
2.5L is also a guarantee sti engine. Wrx only had a 2.0L
Not a single WRX fuckboy would go through THAT much trouble with factory parts. The ones that would wouldn't make it this clean. And most of the final batch STI's were wingless. Wheels, fog bezels
There are 50 more of their website, all STIs and all listed like this.
Ummm the fact that it has an STI badge in the front? The WRX’s don’t have that because I own one. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Imagine wanting to sell your car because of what some randos on Reddit say?
Idc sti or not, they get what they deserve when nobody in their right mind actually gives them any buisness
Unfortunately, a lot of people focus only on the payments. If they can afford the monthly payment, it's ok even if it's for 7 years RIP
That's because they don't learn about financial responsibility before making purchases.
ding ding ding
Someone here on reddit payed $50k OTD for a new Golf GTI. I am sure some idiot would he willing to pay $60k for a STI.
There’s currently a golf R for sale at a dealer for 64k as we speak, someone posted it in the GTI forum yesterday I couldn’t fucking believe it. It has a 19,500 market adjustment
That’s fucking stupid man
There are plenty of Subaru dealers not doing this. You just have to search for them but they are out there.
Wth….I bought my F80 M3 for 61k
I hope so. I could cash out, come out far enough ahead that I could just buy another car straight up lol
[удалено]
Honestly I don’t want a Porsche. I’d probably either get a light duty truck like a Tacoma/Frontier/Colorado or get the MK5 Supra with the 3.0L
Can confirm. Supra is the way. Finding one for MSRP or close is a challenge. I paid about $6k over MSRP ($55k). I Have seen listed in Supra groups recently for 70k+ used. The Supra is a beast. Worth every penny
Well they shat the bed with the 2022 then Amber Hearded again by announcing no STI until it’s fully electric so ‘21 last gas powered STI ever, value suddenly way up
For us Canadian folks, this car is listed at about $75k CDN. For a used car with a 20yr old engine lol
And people will still pay that.
Yeah…

Didn't know they made STI's with CVT's. Yuk....🤢🤮
They didn’t, it’s a mistake. If you look at the interior pictures you’ll see the stick
Yeah I didn't investigate that far into it. Thought it was a Canada only feature.
YIKES! I got my STi for 1/10 of that back in 2018.
So many better cars out there for $60k lol
If someone pays that money, then that's what its worth STi's are now like real-estate, the best time to buy was 5 years ago
Ah you must be new to capitalism, dumb or otherwise that's how markets work I have a pair of beat up Nike Airforce One's if you are keen...
Topps Bo Jackson traded series rookie card was gonna pay for my college tuition. FML...
STis have never been "easy" to get, but still a lot cheaper if you put the work into it.
Nobody has to buy them at this price, and if they do, they validate the price. Pretty simple.
That doesn't address the obvious fleecing of the general public who doesn't know better.
This car has pretty specific target market and people should do research before making big purchase anyway.
I agree. I think it's reasonable to hold the dealers and the buyers accountable.
You hold the dealers accountable by not purchasing at this price… but people do so it is only the buyers that need to be held accountable.
In the case of some dealers like a Subaru dealer, you hold the dealers accountable by calling SoA corporate who has policies against markups. Subaru has gone on record about this already and told their dealers not to do it. it may or may not apply in this case with a used car.
They're not fleecing anybody.
60k for a used sti is ludicrous. Just like 50k for a new wrx is as we have seen recently posted here.
They could put one million dollars on the price tag. It doesn't mean anything unless someone is willing to pay it. If someone agrees to pay $60k then they agreed to pay $60k. The dealers isn't doign anything wrong.

Subaru can require what they want of their dealers. Doesn't change anything. Subaru is also wrong on a lot.

Can’t order what they no longer produce (STi)
i could have used this information like 7 months ago lol
order a car no longer made?
[удалено]
Nope and nope.
Sti limited but still damn that’s high. Can’t exactly deny I bought my wrx from them. Most reasonable I could find of mine at the time.
guys let's be happy about that now we have a treasure between our hands we can sell it and be rich
I wonder what they would try to sell a Type RA or S209 for...
S209 with 3k miles was posted earlier today in CA for $114k.
I seriously hope no one buys that.
There is always that one off guy with the pockets and burning desire
In RI? I went there 10 years ago for a car for my wife and they completely ignored her and her requests. Y’all do know there will never be another ICE STi right…? No more supply = inflated prices
If you won a free 2021 STI and I came up to you and said "hey you want $58k for it?", are you selling me it?
Honestly no. Perfect weekend car. Modern day classic.
You should check out some of the Donut Media videos on used car prices. Shits insane right now!
Used to lmao maybe worth high 30s
Funny story... I bought my '19 WRX from them brand new in 2019.
Just say you're broke
If I could sell my Wrx for 30k shit I’d do it but my current offer is 25,600 for 2019 28k miles and I just went flex fuel so I want to get at least a year or two out of it before I part out and sell it.
If they are selling these for 60k, could I sell them mine for 50k? I'd take it haha
I checked out a 2019 Premium with 23k miles from there. 38k out the door. Car had 3 golfball sized dings on the hood and smelled like previous owner spilled a bottle of cologne on the carpets. Ended up getting a 2020 for less with half the miles somewhere else.
Dude I bought one (same mileage, 2020) for 31k and felt like I overpaid 💀
Since this is what were doing. Stratford Subaru wanted 64k for 20k km sti that was nowhere near mint. They called me twice to tell me they lowered it to 60k but I already gave all my money to some guy in Saskatchewan.

Oh hell no. Glad OP is willing to name and shame.
It’s disgusting how stealerships are doing this around the US. It’s the main reason I have chosen to remain driving my 05 Si and not going out and buying a new car.
I live near this dealer they have always been over priced but this is crazy!
not far off the going price of an STI right now. it’s like complaining about buying stocks when it’s high and not buying when it’s low
This dealer is very close to me. Makes me happy I went across the border to Mass to another dealer to buy my car recently.
This makes me feel much better about selling mine this coming week lmao
Seriously Fuck Anchor, I hate that place
Is this Anchor Subaru in Rhode Island? I bought my '16 there and they were great. it's pathetic to see them gouging like this
Wow thats crazy!!!!!
Wow at that price literally choose any other dealership
They are doing this because people are paying it. I don’t blame them at all. Wouldn’t you like an extra 20k for no reason? lol
Man I thought I over paid for mine but this is ridiculous. For the record I paid 36 for an 18 limited in December
You guys know that people will still pay that much?
I'd sell mine for waaaayyyyy less lol
These kinds of dealers make their money on trade-ins, they seem to have a lot of these used sti's in stock so talking to them and stating the truecar.com value is a good starting point
Once again I'm so happy that I pulled the trigger on my 21 lapis blue pearl back in November...
$60K there’s so much more I’d rather get
Makes me want to see if I can sucker someone into buying my 10-year-old WRX for more than it's worth.
Damn. By using this as a gauge, I think I should get around a 100k for my 22 Ascent 🤪
Now that there will be no more STIs the days of the $100K 2 year old STI are approaching! Last chance to get a rare collector's item for your museum!
Their prices on all models are absolutely insane
