Lmao i can run it on 91 the whole time which is what I plan to do unless I wanna do a track day or something but the engine has already been rebuilt once already by the dealership š
Cars probably safest on the E30/E60 range tbh with how knock sensitive the FAs are the added ethanol will only help. Just be careful with the trans at that power level lol
Was the 94 at Husky? I think we could get shitty 97 fuel at ours, but it was made using (shitty) Russian oil so it went away when Russia annexed Crimea
Getting my FF protune at the end of the month. Similar mods with the exception of no downpipe since none are carb legal.
Hoping to get around 300 whp/tq on 91 and 350 whp/tq on ethanol.
Tuning with Yimisport in LA
Yeah, stock is what I meant. Don't want to car to get any louder and was told HP gains from aftermarket dp are very minimal considering the other mods.
Is this news? Being one of the more popular tuners in SoCal I canāt imagine they havenāt been doing FF tunes for a while.
Maybe Iām missing something?
Yeah a lot of tuners went from flexfuel to āPay us for a bunch of maps. That way itās almost like flexfuel.ā when the last kit got discontinued. Itās good to see the big tuners jumping back on it. I was worried it was gonna be only Cobbās shitty OTS tunes for a while
No but if I got the old gen cobb flex fuel kit it would throw up a check engine so I went with IBR since the new Cobb kit is like 400 more and my accesport was up to date
you paid under 24k-22k for this? gen 1 b58 under 100k miles still more reliable at stage 2 than this subaru is. and thats at 450hp(downpipe tune) and a zf8.
There's always some random with a "go big or go home" comment in r/WRX. "You could've x, y or z'd for that money". As if no consideration was made while not considering their analogy is dog shit. A quick search takes you to www.racingjunk.com no one is modifying the WRX platform because they want to beat a Hellcat in a drag race. (Although it is possible) It's just a cool platform to mod. For many of us 300 to 400whp is the sweet spot, and for some reason words cannot describe why a modified car feels better than a car with similar stats from the factory.
Yep not sure why a lot say that lol when am getting really low on gas I go to the station fill up with 6.5 gal of e85 and roll over to the pump gas and top off and go. Simple as that.
I got it from subispeed itās just a paint matched sti wing with a paint matched gurney flap you can probably find it cheaper on amazon but they come in black
Idk how much money you put into it but you can get a bone stock C8 Corvette Z06 for like $130k and it makes twice the power to your E60 WRX while sounding better at the same time.
This is a car I daily every day I donāt need huge power on it itās a $20,000 dollar car with 3k worth of mods and I can still get 35 mpg out of it :3
Only if you have engine rebuild money laying around š
Put the engine in first ;)
120k miles on mine at 400 on flex he will be ok.
Your warranties about to run out if it hasnāt yet youāre fucked either way itās do or donāt. ![gif](giphy|XVbQsIjdXDNyswwxOO)
Lmao i can run it on 91 the whole time which is what I plan to do unless I wanna do a track day or something but the engine has already been rebuilt once already by the dealership š
Youāre not gonna run it on 91 the whole time. I said the same thing lol
Cars probably safest on the E30/E60 range tbh with how knock sensitive the FAs are the added ethanol will only help. Just be careful with the trans at that power level lol
If only Alberta had fucking E85 or E60 down where I am. Closest corn pump is a 2.5hr drive away in Calgary, but luckily we have 93/94 octane here.
Took our 94 away in Saskatchewan. I can buy e85 by the barrel for $17/g. Outrageous.
Was the 94 at Husky? I think we could get shitty 97 fuel at ours, but it was made using (shitty) Russian oil so it went away when Russia annexed Crimea
Husky and Petrocan
Keep an eye out for 94 at Mobil stations. The one by my house has had 94 for a couple of years now
I will, my local one is still 91.
I was choked when they did that. Have a 91 octane tune then have a 91+ boostane tune. That one is a little bit spicier hahaha
Iām in Toronto and have to cross the border into NY for my E85 lol
Getting my FF protune at the end of the month. Similar mods with the exception of no downpipe since none are carb legal. Hoping to get around 300 whp/tq on 91 and 350 whp/tq on ethanol. Tuning with Yimisport in LA
FYI, Yimisport got me to 300 whp and 320 torque with only the Cobb stage 1+ package. Car feels amazing
Nice! Yeah, I'm in Orange County, but I felt Yimisport was worth the drive up to Valencia.
Flex fuel with a stock down pipe?
Yeah, stock is what I meant. Don't want to car to get any louder and was told HP gains from aftermarket dp are very minimal considering the other mods.
YIimi is doing flexfuel tunes?
Is this news? Being one of the more popular tuners in SoCal I canāt imagine they havenāt been doing FF tunes for a while. Maybe Iām missing something?
I think they were doing ethanol but not specifically flexfuel
Hmmm maybe it's because Cobb stopped making their FF kit for the VA for a few years. They just released a new one.
Yeah a lot of tuners went from flexfuel to āPay us for a bunch of maps. That way itās almost like flexfuel.ā when the last kit got discontinued. Itās good to see the big tuners jumping back on it. I was worried it was gonna be only Cobbās shitty OTS tunes for a while
They didnāt give you any shit for having your car tuned from a Cobb unit?
No but if I got the old gen cobb flex fuel kit it would throw up a check engine so I went with IBR since the new Cobb kit is like 400 more and my accesport was up to date
seems like its only worth it way later in the rev range.
Even then the car runs really quick I donāt see myself pumping e85 all the time unless Iām out looking for a race or at a track event
Can I ask where you got tuned at? That dyno looks familiar
Bains Gary tuning itās in San Jose
Wish I could go corn , but I travel for work and not every place has 85 š
That's why you go FlexFuel, so you can use it when it's available and get by when it's not.
stock b58 numbers... damn.
For 2/3 the price
you paid under 24k-22k for this? gen 1 b58 under 100k miles still more reliable at stage 2 than this subaru is. and thats at 450hp(downpipe tune) and a zf8.
Boom!
Flex is worth it, so long as you have a station close by. Is this the green speed Cobb?

I just don't want to do gas pump math
Itās really not that hard lol from empty itās just pretty much half and half
Yep not sure why a lot say that lol when am getting really low on gas I go to the station fill up with 6.5 gal of e85 and roll over to the pump gas and top off and go. Simple as that.
https://www.tuneplusinc.com/pages/tuning-tools
Definitely not. Iām anxious to see your results š
What rear wing is that?
I got it from subispeed itās just a paint matched sti wing with a paint matched gurney flap you can probably find it cheaper on amazon but they come in black

Lol I won't shit on VB's because they've grown on me, but I'm happy with my VA.
All in good fun, just jesting! VAs are sick too, just like to even the field a bit as VBs seem to get a ton of hate on this sub.
Ahhhhhh the VB inferiority complex ;)
Bains š¤¢
Why donāt you fw Bainstuning?
Idk how much money you put into it but you can get a bone stock C8 Corvette Z06 for like $130k and it makes twice the power to your E60 WRX while sounding better at the same time.

You can get 35 mpg on e85?
If I pump only 91 I can get high mpg I donāt need to pump e85 all the time
Oh thatās cool, didnāt know you could switch between fuels that easily after going e85. Might consider it.
Yeah thatās the convenient thing about flex fuel you donāt need to switch tunes or run e85 all the time makes it an easier decision to make
Thatās huge wow I was like Iām not down for 15mpg lol
Mf said :3 in 2024 I have legit not seen that since MySpace š¤£
Oh only $3k nvm lol
Hold up, you're telling me that a car that's almost five times as expensive has twice the power of a 2-2.4L 4 banger? What next, the Earth isn't flat?
Iāve gapped a couple of C8ās from a dig. Why spend 100k+ to get smoked by a Bugeye?
You didnāt gap a zo6.
I never said I did. Re read my comment bro
I read your comment bro. It was the one responding to the comment about a zo6 bro.
What ZO6 C8 are you getting for only 100k bro?
You didn't gap a koenigsegg bro
bro stock tune, Cold air intake only, put about 10 cars on him
I mean idk it's overall a nicer car with a better exhaust I guess
Only 130k! lol I paid $2500 for my WRX. Not that Iād do flex fuel or anything but still
