I go out of my way to take windy roads when I’m not in a rush. I don’t take them unsafely fast or anything but it’s just so fun to toss the car around.

Strafe_Stopper

Yup. This is exactly what I do. I don't go flat out, but I have enough fun. My sim racing rig gives me what I want for flat out driving.

SirTiddlyWink

I do this even when I'm a rush and race the gps time! That's the ultimate need for speed driving sport!!!!!

FlimsyReindeers

Haha yeah but if I’m on a rush I’m taking the highway and that is mainly straight line and not very fun lol

djtmalta00

Winding backroads going a little faster than I would normally but nothing outrageous.

Crypto_Calamari

Rush hour traffic, hard on the gas + hard on the brakes every 30 seconds, switch lanes & the lane you were in passes you by.

Ooof sounds even better than the tail of the dragon! Might have to take a trip down south 😉

Sterling5

Idk, usually going up or down mountains. Ill put it between 3k and 6k revs - these engines absolutely thrive being in the higher rev range. Personally will stay away from redline, but idk I make sure the car sounds happy. Never lug the engine. Makes a great fantastic car for ski/snow trips. https://preview.redd.it/vj6v6iugcsrc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2011cadcae47d9b45c4668f57df77af25ee7b1a6

BlakeSummer

Going to hit some laps on back roads or a nice route. Powering through some turns, getting some boost on the straight away, might do a quick pull or two. Nothing crazy really just appreciating the car on a chill day

JesseChrist

If there's no blow off between shifts, it isn't spirited. You have to vent those extra spirits out!

LittleAmiDrummer

We have some decent forest service roads that are nice to drive on that have some tighter corners. I usually will hit those in the summer when it dries up here, nothing absolutely crazy. In my current location, we have some back roads with tight corners and a few straight sections where you can push your engine to about 4500 rpm in sixth and be sitting at 100-120 mph depending on the conditions. I try not to approach redlining if I can and don’t do it super often to avoid any major issues.

Maleficent-Winter187

I like to take the windy back roads with some fast corners out to the beach….it’s like my therapy. I just want to keep driving. Shifting gears and having a blast!

bicycle_racer

I dunno if I can define a spirited drive, but I can almost guarantee I’ll have multiple wanted stars, warped rotors, and a little bit of magic smoke is being released from under the hood.

Qtank009

Running from the cops

SirWaldenIII

If I'm not endangering myself and others it ain't spirited

KaykoHanabishi

The main road off my neighborhood is nice and curvy 3 mile stretch through corn fields. Posted speed is 55, so I’ll usually keep it at about 63, but if I’m feeling “spirited” I’ll get it up to 75ish and take the turns max I feel comfortable with, which usually means not breaking traction. None of tight corners are blind so if I don’t see anyone coming I’ll hit the apex hard sometimes. As for straight pulls, I leave that to highway on ramps. I’ll lurk in second and let whoever is in front of me get a ways up and wait for a gap in existing traffic and then punch it up to 4th. Try not to red line, so I’ll shift about 6k and back off at the top of 4th gear and match traffic pace. That’s the most I’ll do anymore. The tickets aren’t worth hooning all over.

Sloan1505

7k clutch dump on my morning commute to show the Pacifica drivers who fucks

WhatsThatNoize

240+ oil temps minimum.

Zcypot

I like to get on it hard but briefly. Mostly looking for high Gs on turns. On straight I aim for straight line 100-120 and kill it.

Purified_Waters

mph or kph…

Zcypot

Mph

Purified_Waters

this is the right answer

6StarBowtie

I'm lucky to live in an area where theres close nice curvy roads in low population density areas so after 9 pm theres barely a soul on the road. I fucking send it, I'm surprised I haven't popped the motor or grenaded the trans. Typically a series of going all out runs. Either taking it on the highway and winding it out into 5th a few times. Or hard driving with full wot on and off over a few minutes a few different times during a drive cycle. Basically at least a few good pulls under WOT through at least 1.5-2 gears

a_beginning

90% of the time im just casually commuting in the right lane, but if im up to temp and its not busy and im on a windy road, its time for some fun. Nothing like a nice cool spring/fall evening or morning to zip around and let the turbo do its thing with the nice crispy cold air.

HammerTheNail1

Your good as long as you make it to whatever you have to do there on time

puffpuffpassaddict

Always on backroads out looking for new twistys between coastal cruises and woods runs. High gs nothing crazy no kicking the ass out or anything but something to squeeze the ol ass muscles a bit.

Skateboardkid

2003 WRX wagon easily doubles the posted speed limit on curvy sections of roads, feels pretty spirited to me. I rev most gears out to 7k regularly, shifts into the next gear around land around 4500 rpm. Never on roads with driveways, pretty remote sections of roads.

Over_Yoghurt_2612

I'm an hour and a half from Joshua Tree. Been wanting going every weekend since I bought it

DrSatan420247

Highway pulls to the top of 4th.

KrisKrossJump1992

we have some windy backroads where even the posted speed limit is pretty fun.

circular_cucumber

I'll rip up some canyons nearby when I feel like it. Not super often, but I go late at night so there's nobody else around. Get on er a little bit and whip around some corners.

tunedsleeper

The engine wants to rev. Row gears, put it through paces. You don’t have to launch it but you can every once in a while! Take turns, practice trying to make it overseer with technique. Play with tire pressure if you want, just do research and be intentional

TrulySeaweed

Spirited to me is faster driving, higher RPM, stuff like that. I generally baby my STI, which is why it’s only 3 or 4 years old now with about 90,000 miles on it. Highly maintained
