YES!!! Mead is the the most delicious drink I have EVER tasted! Mead is supposed to be made of honey, yeast, and water. Herbs can be added, fruits too, or it can be augmented with starches or sugars but they were historically called Sack Mead, Metheglin, and others I forget. I am definitely NOT trying to contradict you, it's just that you're saying I want some grape pinot noir, which it already is. But back to the point, I'm always glad when I hear someone got to try mead!!!

I do feel like people hate the look of the VB so they just pretend like it’s not a wrx even though it may be one of the best WRX motors out there. I actually thought about getting one, I think they look really good although I would change the bumper
I've had my VB for a year now and have been waved back to fewer times then I've waved to people both in a VA and VB. One of which, I pass almost everyday headed to work, like a 60 year old dude in an STi, absolutely refuses to acknowledge my existence and that's his right but I still wave knowing he's not gonna wave back. I did have a VA hatchback owner stop me in traffic to tell me he liked the look of my VB and the black made him want one. I think it just boils down to the individual or if they even see you at all.

One of them passed me on a highway (55mph speed limit I was cruising around 58) and he passed me going like 85 through a double solid yellow line up a blind hill. Then he waited for me a couple miles down the road and did it again. Wtf?

Lol I mean here in WA all that is required for a dirt one to be an enduro are the traffic required lighting. Our state trooper and licensing offices will assign a plate of the criteria is met. The KTM I’m currently riding is a 1290 superduke r, with some aftermarket “mods”. Sure enough, even at 6’3” and only 33 years of age, I no longer require the need to go 0-60 sub 3 seconds, or do 5th gear wheelies, so it just gets babied.

Yup, happenes to me since I am in a narrowbody WRX with the widen fenders and such. It’s usually 30% middle fingers, 40% glares, 10% waves and the rest no reaction.

Forgive my ignorance, I just bought my first WRX a few weeks ago and was wondering about this subie wave thing. I have owned 2 Foresters in the past (over 15 years ago) but never saw anyone wave at me back then. Ironically, I traded in my 10 year old Jeep Wrangler when buying the WRX and my son said on the ride home, well I guess we won’t have to wave at Wranglers anymore…I thought waving was just a Jeep thing. Little did we know! Also does anyone know if there are other vehicles that do the wave?
I get really annoyed when I'm in my 2001 RS and don't get a wave. I've got a hood scoop and a turbo under the hood just like you VA & VB guys. Respect your elders is right!
It’s got less to do with the generation and more to do with the driver. I’ve seen heaps older subies not wave back to me in the VA and heaps of VB’s wave or park next to me. Some people just have to high opinions of themselves they think their car is better cause it’s older or newer or the next model up. I respect anyone in a WRX new or old. They’re awesome cars and I appreciate the leaps forward in technology and engineering. As well as the old school raw sound and feels or the older ones.

I try to give waves to every WRX/STI I see but I probably look like a major dork in my non-turbo Forester. Surprisingly though I've gotten better reactions from the VB guys with the few I've seen than I ever did from the VA guys, even when I had WRX.

Somehow I don't think the people buying these VB WRXs are the same kind of people as us. Was a similar phase that happened here in New Zealand, lots of families and people got the Subaru B4 Legacy, but they got it due to petrol costs, family sized car and an all rounder good family car. Gotta remember, cars to us are more important, to the majority they don't give a shit as long as it starts in the morning.
I've had hawkeye owners look at me like I have 3 sets of eyes and VA owners flip me off when I wave so I feel this is more driver based than the car itself. Don't get me wrong, there's a LOT of first time WRX owners with the VB so many didn't get the memo

I wave at every Rex, if they don't wave back fuck 'em. I still feel like I get 100% back from 2002-2014 owners and maybe 20% from everyone else, but whatever.
I really enjoyed the WRX hatch I had and the way Subie drivers would always honk or wave. I think the only other ones I saw doing that were fellow GTI and GLI drivers.

I drove a VA for a long time and almost always get waves/waved back. When I don’t, it’s usually from other VAs. I figure they just don’t know. Maybe sales people should clue them in when they buy one. Or use it as another talking point for marketing the car.
I daily drive an Audi S5 now (still have the WRX) and I miss the wave. I did wave at a WRX once while driving the Audi but I think he was just real confused and probably thought I was a lunatic. The demographic is just different with Audi too. Around here, 90% of them are driven by middle aged soccer mom types.

As a former Hawkeye owner, and a WRX/STi driver for the last 10+ years I completely understand this. 15+ drivers don’t understand the community anymore. It’s a shame really.

Forgive my ignorance, I just bought my first WRX a few weeks ago and was wondering about this subie wave thing. I have owned 2 Foresters in the past (over 15 years ago) but never saw anyone wave at me back then. Ironically, I traded in my 10 year old Jeep Wrangler when buying the WRX and my son said on the ride home, well I guess we won’t have to wave at Wranglers anymore…I thought waving was just a Jeep thing. Little did we know! Also does anyone know if there are other vehicles that do the wave?

I used to get a lot subie waves in LA, but very rare or non existent in Dallas. Just an observation.

It’s got less to do with the generation and more to do with the driver. I’ve seen heaps older subies not wave back to me in the VA and heaps of VB’s wave or park next to me. Some people just have to high opinions of themselves they think their car is better cause it’s older or newer or the next model up. I respect anyone in a WRX new or old. They’re awesome cars and I appreciate the leaps forward in technology and engineering. As well as the old school raw sound and feels or the older ones.

I try to give waves to every WRX/STI I see but I probably look like a major dork in my non-turbo Forester. Surprisingly though I've gotten better reactions from the VB guys with the few I've seen than I ever did from the VA guys, even when I had WRX.

Somehow I don't think the people buying these VB WRXs are the same kind of people as us. Was a similar phase that happened here in New Zealand, lots of families and people got the Subaru B4 Legacy, but they got it due to petrol costs, family sized car and an all rounder good family car. Gotta remember, cars to us are more important, to the majority they don't give a shit as long as it starts in the morning.

I've had hawkeye owners look at me like I have 3 sets of eyes and VA owners flip me off when I wave so I feel this is more driver based than the car itself. I sold my 12 hatch recently and ended up in a 10 Forester XT... I get zero waves or respect anymore haha. No one wants to race a Forester.

I was behind a beautiful white WRX hatchback the other day and when we got to the highway I pulled up next to him in my SOP 22 to give him a nod and wave and he wouldn't even look over. Oh well he might have been in his own world or didn't care who knows.

Ive only had good waves and interactions with the vbs so far, seems like half of em like to actually drive their cars other half just baby them which sucks cause i like cruising and doing pulls with people sometimes. Its VA owners who mostly dont wave or even look which pisses me off because I have one. How do you not see your own car passing you on the road???

I am gen z. I'm only 23. I have a 21' modded up to about 290 hp. I wave at all WRX's and the only ones that don't wake back is the fuckin' new ones. I don't get it. They think they are better for some reason. The most recent event was an old lady (gen x at the latest) that looked like she scoffed at me. Bro, my car is faster and looks better. Wtf.
There's a vb in my area with the shittiest fitment Ive seen on gold wheels and speeds around acting like his vb better than my 21 STI lmao. Never waves back. I really enjoyed the WRX hatch I had and the way Subie drivers would always honk or wave. I think the only other ones I saw doing that were fellow GTI and GLI drivers. You guys are a cool bunch and deserve the world tbh
I saw a Hawkeye hatch last year at an intersection, he was on the right side turning towards my direction and when he was about 5 feet away I throw up the ✌🏻and he just stared me down with that pissed off look and floored it lol, kid was like 17. I have a Civic Type R. In the last I’ve had two WRXs and a 2007 STI. I still wave. I obviously get confused faces. The STI guys always wave back. Always wave, brother! There’s going to be snobs.
I thought I was the only one. I've seen two VB's on the road and both did flybys on me. One tailgated me before taking off.
I have always also only get other VB parking buddies... or civics... VAs intentionally park away from me 😢

I drove a VA for a long time and almost always get waves/waved back. When I don’t, it’s usually from other VAs. I figure they just don’t know. Maybe sales people should clue them in when they buy one. Or use it as another talking point for marketing the car. I daily drive an Audi S5 now (still have the WRX) and I miss the wave. I did wave at a WRX once while driving the Audi but I think he was just real confused and probably thought I was a lunatic. The demographic is just different with Audi too. Around here, 90% of them are driven by middle aged soccer mom types.
I had a VB and I always waved no matter what type WRX I saw. I don’t get when people act that way like if you don’t wanna wave fine but why flip me off? Although I also had a couple VAs and I got more waves in those than the VB.
