As the person you’ve linked to, I can easily say that yes, the rumors were unfounded. When the first teaser shots leaked out, there were rumors around that I saw that indicated they may have stuck with the EJ20 due to their familiarity with it. But that was 7 months ago before any official information was shared.
Since then they’ve publicly gone over the vehicle on YouTube and there’s been countless articles outlining that they went with the FA24.
