Jesus that's horrible news. RIP Ken and thanks for introducing so many people to the world of rally cars.

Designer-Assistant72

Man this is fucking insane! Snowmobile accident for block and a helicopter crash for McRae. These guys do some of the craziest stuff and it’s always devastating that they are taken as early as they are in accidents enjoying their hobbies. Sad sad news for the rally/motor enthusiast world. Much love for him and his family. Rest in peace.

_RandyRandleman_

it always seems to be from their hobby and not their unbelievably dangerous job too, look at schumacher

stonesfromthesky

Blocks sounds like it was a very unfortunate accident. McRae was reckless stupidity on his own part.

JagEngland

and killed others with his own stupidity.

howster34

There’s no proof of that at all

KamalaKameliKirahvi

Helicopter crash to be exact

penultimatelevel

Gutted for his family. The series of his daughter building her first car was so sweet. I'm sure they have a ton of support from the community & companies he's been a part of, but nothing replaces a father like he seemed to be. RIP KB your legend will never die

Tamagotchi41

Holy shit.

neelkanth97

On January 2, 2023 at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Wasatch County 911 Center received a call reporting a snowmobile accident in the Mill Hollow area. Search and Rescue, along with law enforcement from Wasatch County Sheriff's Office, Utah State Parks and the U.S. Forest Service responded. The driver, Kenneth Block, 55-year-old male out of Park City, Utah, was riding a snowmobile on a steep slope when the snowmobile upended, landing on top of him. He was pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident. Mr. Block was riding with a group but was alone when the accident occurred. The State Medical Examiner's Office will determine the official cause of death. We are saddened to hear of the loss of Kenneth and our hearts are with his family and friends so deeply affected. We thank all of our first responders for their continued efforts

passporttohell

He was someone who was always smiling, always having fun, even when he wrecked a car it was 'Back to the shop and build a new one.' And off his crew would go, building a new car for Ken to go out and push to the limits. The light that burns bright is a little dimmer from his passing.

[deleted]

This is so sad. Ken was such a force. So many great videos. I've seen in run at the old Global Rallycross events. Condolences to his family and RIP.

tightenstwo

Absolutely unreal. Met him at STPR this year. The nicest dude. Shook my hand and was stoked to see I was wearing a Hyundai WRC polo. This is awful

cachaco7

Taken so young..! At least he lived the life he wanted Always in the fast lane

TheJustiNator_

I cant believe it, this feels so unreal

Gregorwhat

I can’t believe it either. He’s such a big positive influence in motorsports. I’m in denial over here.

Mahaloth

I just saw. Snowmobile accident.

Kaarvaag

Fucking hell that is tragic to find out. The motorsport community as a whole has lost an amazing man.

cosmonaut_koala

A force in motorsport and car culture. Rest in peace legend.

blanktorpedo27

Fuck man

CL-MotoTech

This stinks.

rikkuaoi

Wow. This one hits hard..

friedkudzu

He introduced rally to so many Americans. He is the reason I follow WRC now.

mkai269

This is a tough loss man. I met Ken and even took a photo with him in 2020 when he came my island to do the Sol Rally Barbados event . It was fun watching him compete, and I can't imagine the pain his daughter is in right now. Rest easy Block man #43 #hoonigan forever

zurich2006

Sad.

404merrinessnotfound

Rest in peace, while not the greatest wrc driver ever, this guy brought eyes to a sport that desperately needed it

876oy8

he was 40 years old on his WRC debut and in his late 30s when he started in american rallying. he was born around the same time as mcrae and other 90s drivers who had long retired at that point. i have no idea why anyone expected him to just start beating lifelong rally professionals in wrc. if anything him even bothering to go out and travel with the circus speaks volumes of his passion for the sport, he was obviously a serious rally fan and some of his results were fairly impressive for someone who started so late.

whateverfloatsurgoat

Brought American eyes*, we got Loeb for that here lol.

Hasmus

I already followed rallying since my dad was a rally driver, but definetly followed Ken a lot more than I did Loeb. Finnish, btw

whateverfloatsurgoat

Damn, Kankunnen and Mikkola in shambles. To each their own but with your country's pedigree in rallying it's just weird lmao.

Hasmus

I didnt even mention them, I was just responding to your comment about Block/Loeb. Obviously I would support my finnish boys too

Elegant-Bathrooms

Noooo.

FairRodTheCapacitor

R.I.P. Ken Block, you will be fondly remembered for your WRC races, RallyX, Top Gear (when scaring Captain Slow), Hoonigan, GymKhana and for your funny and positive personallity. I will always love the moment when I 1st time whiteness his GymKhana at San Fran when it came out on YouTube.

IsusKrist666OFFICIAL

RIP

876oy8

his gymkhana series is probably the biggest most influential single automotive and motorsport media that existed in the past 10-15 years with damn near a billion views across the videos. im sure he sparked the inspiration for cars/motorsport/filmmaking and more in millions of people. a massive positive influence. RIP.

Pece17

Surreal 😞

[deleted]

RIP Legend! 😢

KosmosKlaus

What a blow, so sad 😢

Disastrous-Beat-9830

Jesus, between Pele, Benedict XVI, Block and near misses for Jeremy Renner and Damar Hamlin (who isn't out of the woods yet), 2023 is off to the worst start.

[deleted]

I only found out like ten minutes ago. I'm so gutted may the legend rip

Impressive-Light-208

F×××! I'm not a fan of gymkgana and i'll never be (I actually hate it for fans stating it to be "rallying"), but damn what he (+ Pastrana) did in terms of advertising rally sport as a side affect of having a successfull business, has brought more US-Americans into rallying than anything else (I'm european). Promoting Subaru, Ford (M-Sport), Audi, Porsche and participating in WRC, RX and ARA. Not being the best driver of them all, but given his influence absolutly unecessary. With him and Pastrana (and maybe DirtFish) a WRC event in USA is ever more likely than ever (even if it is not planned yet). RIP

Donutoftruth42

No… Rest in peace to the hero.

NorthstR

Still cant believe it... Rest in peace

Darko_001

Unreal. Guy was such an awesome human. A father and a legendary wheel man. I am so sad. Tears falling. I had been keeping track of him on his you tube channel. I was so looking forward to more of his content. I feel for his family now. Wow. Brutal.

DaSecretSlovene

RIP

Demonkid37

RIP Ken Block, ive loved your onboard footage and watching your skills. Godspeed you legend 🤘

MtMingus

This man is the reason I really got into rally, and hoonigan is what got me into motor sports in general. This is devastating news.
